Well, DD's BF popped the question this morning. He was really creative and romantic and she's thrilled!
I think I've mentioned that DD is a reporter for the Ft. Worth cable news station so her BF contacted DD's producer to help him. DD's producer told her she needed to do a story this a.m. at the Botanic Gardens. Well, when DD showed up, there was her BF. BUT, he was clever--just told her he was planning to have her take the day off and relax.
He had brought a picnic so they ate and talked for over an hour. Then he told her to close her eyes and to hold a flat rectangular box (deck of cards in it) and played her a song on the guitar (that DD loves) about a guy who takes a girl to the park and asks her to marry him. She said that she began to realize, then, what was happening and they were both crying.
When she had gone away to school two years ago, her said to her, "I guess it's just not in the cards for us to be together."
Anyway, she opened her eyes and he told her to take the cards out of the box. He had carved out a space in the cards for her ring and said, "Do you think it's in the cards now? Will you marry me?" Awwwwww. graemlins/sobbing.gif graemlins/sobbing.gif graemlins/sobbing.gif
This afternoon we went to his parents' house and met the family (well, we actually know them all, but it was an excuse for a party!). She is thrilled! Her ring is beautiful and the wedding is set for March 13th! I'd better get busy!!!!!
