Hi Tracey!

Thank you so much for asking about me! I've not been on BCB for a few days, so I was going back a couple of pages to catch up, and I saw your post!

I really don't have time even now to do this, but dag-nab-it, I'm gonna take the time from something else to get this update posted! (The vacuuming and laundry and dishes can wait until later!!!)

I've been reading BCB every few days, but just haven't taken the time to post. Nothing is "wrong", just so much has changed in the last 3 months.

This may end up being a bit of a long post, so go get a tall glass of water and read on:

Also in May - DH took a new assignment with his company. He was miserable with the person he was working with in Kentucky - the whole team was miserable with that particular assignment. He didn't have to travel much, but he was not enjoying his job at all due to this one specific difficult person. Then in May he was offered a much better job in West Virginia, on a contract his company has there. Unfortunately it's a situation where he has to be there until sometime after the first of the year. He comes home every other weekend - he has never traveled this much during our marriage, and it's killing me! I don't regret our decision for him to take this job at all, it's a terrific career move for him. I'm just so used to having his help with the house and the boys, and I also just miss him like crazy when he's not here! He IS such a hunka hunka burnin' love, after all! ;)
This month - the Pediatric Endocrine Nurse left her job on the team I work on, and rather than replace her, 3 of us took over her job duties. I agreed to increase my hours to 28 hours per week. I still have Fridays off (Yippee!) and work 7 hours per day Mon-Thurs. This will be a very easy schedule when my kiddos go back to school, which starts on 8/27. But until then I'm just dying here, since I'm basically a single parent!
New Job Current Status - I am absolutely LOVING my new job, I am learning so much! It's great to be working with kids again, as I started my nursing career in Pediatrics, and have always wanted to go back to working with children. I'm very, very, very happy in this job!

Summer schedule - As a single parent who just increased her work hours, I've still been carting my kiddos around all summer - day camp, Vacation Bible School, swimming lessons, golf lessons, figure skating lessons, etc etc etc. Needless to say, it's been exhausting!

DMIL update - My DMIL, who I absolutely adore, is moving here, and I can't wait! I am so totally blessed with such a fabulous DMIL, I strive to deserve her AND my DH every day! She bought a house here that was in the process of being built, so I have been overseeing that house for her while she was selling her house in California. I also bought a car on her behalf a week and a half ago. She will be here this Saturday, 8/2, and she closes on her new house on 8/4. She'll be living with me for just 6-7 days or so, while she waits for her furniture and belongings to arrive from California. I wish she was living with me for 6 months instead of 6 days! But she will be living only 8 miles from me, and she will be a terrific help with the kids.

DH visit - me and the boys went to West Virginia this past weekend to visit DH - we had a totally fabulous time, and met a family that is staying at the same Residence Inn as DH. The wife is Greek, and she promised to take care of DH for me! They are relocating for her DH's job, and the house they are moving into will be ready in about 2-3 more weeks. She will have my DH over for home-cooked Greek food once she gets in to her house! She and I hit it off right away... she is in great shape but was looking for lower-fat and healthier recipes for HER DH, so of course I steered her to BCB! She has already developed low-fat versions of some classic Greek dishes, and she promised to share the recipes with me!

OP update - OK, here's where things get a little dicey for me....I am going to be totally honest with you here Tracey, 'cause I know you'll still respect me in the morning..... I have not been journaling hardly at all this summer, but that ended TODAY! I have happily documented EVERY BITE for today, and am thrilled about that! I am determined to get back OFF the pounds that have crept back ON this summer, and when DH is done with his assignment I want him to have the slender wife he deserves! I'm in the driver's seat of the wagon today!!!
Well, that about sums it all up. Thanx again for asking about me Tracey, and HI to ALL MY BUDDIES!!! I have tried to keep up with all the summer activities by READING the daily, just haven't taken time to POST... I sure hope to correct that, and plan to be back on the DAILY..... DAILY!!!!
