...... AND I'VE FALLEN OFF THE WAGON :( graemlins/sobbing.gif :(

Can any of you wonderful ladies, PLEASE give me a kick and help me climb back up?? graemlins/sobbing.gif

Being PMS right now is not helping at all. Today I ate ice cream TWICE I am so disgusted at myself. This is exactly what I do when stressed and obviously with the way my life has been turned upside down in the last couple of weeks, the stress has shot out of the roof here. I swear I am going to sleep for a week when they have left graemlins/sleep.gif Today we had a great day, a ferry ride to an island/ a swim at a beautiful beach and MIL was actually quite coherent most of the time but the whole disruption to everybodys lives is obviously more than I can take.

I'd really appreciate some suppport/encouragement even though I do appear to be whining. Thanks buddies

Take care

Mandy,
Oh, goodness do I know stress right now.
Give me your hand and hold on tight.
First we are going to sit down and count the points to that ice cream, and add to everything else you ate. No banked points. Too bad.
Then you make a plan for today where you can one portion of comfort food. I found that removing those points first thing in the morning and saving them helped me a lot.
What is stressing you? Can you change it? MIL is now gone home, so the problem might be solved.
Hang in there. graemlins/bcbkick.gif graemlins/bcbsalute.gif For coming to the right place for support.

****{Mandy}}} now here's what you asked for graemlins/bcbkick.gif graemlins/bcbkick.gif graemlins/bcbkick.gif

Yep, lifes tough, and being in total control at all times isn't humanly possible, but you must not give in. So you ate two icecreams, did they make you feel better, no, now you feel guilty, so next time you get that inner demon telling you to stuff your face, ask yourself 'how am I going to feel after I've eaten it, am I going to feel fulfilled or ridden with guilt' yep, we all know the answer, ridden with guilt, so why eat it, have an alternative, chew gum anything but succumb to the old habits of comfort eating. With all you've got going on in your life the last thing you need is to be on the 'catch 22' merry go round!

Remember, aren't you lucky that MIL lives overseas in another country and you hardly ever have to put up with her, that alone is a godsend! Each passing hour the light at the end of that tunnel is getting brighter, hang on tight to the reins, and you my girl are getting belted in, no jumping off until we let you.

Mandy, Honk Honk Honk! My mother had a heart attack last week and I felt that I was falling apart after she was released from hospital. I managed to hang on by a thread, and you can do it, too! Just make sure that you have some points set aside for stress eating, as Tinatulips suggested. Then, you have your reward built in, and you can enjoy your ice cream.

I read a great saying that helps me: "If I have a problem and I overeat, then I have two problems." Don't create extra problems for yourself! Stay strong and we are with you every step of the way.

Mandy -

I can imagine the stress has been terrible. Biz is right, however! That ice cream didn't make you feel any better, it just made you feel guilty, which makes the whole situation worse. SO . . . graemlins/bcbkick.gif I suggest you follow Tina's advice. Count those points. Find a way to reverse bank them out of your weekly point total. Go out and get some exercise. Sounds like you really need to get out of the house badly anyway! I'm so sorry you're in the situation you're in, but you just have to tough it out! This is bootcamp!

Mandy:

graemlins/bcbkick.gif Now haveing said that ******{HUGS}}}}. You have been going thru some really stress filled days.

As everyone else has said you ate the icecream so o'k now move past that and plan for the next time stress hits(and we all know it will because thats life) As Tina said try and take some of youre pts away right at the beginning of the day for youre treats or comfort food then the guilt won't be quite so bad when you do use them. And if by chance you don't use TERRIFIC now you have some BP for the next day.

Like Bizz said the light is getting brighter just hang onto that and remember you are doing a wonderful thing for youre FIL and MIL. graemlins/bcbsalute.gif

Take care.

Thankyou, ONCE AGAIN buddies for the support and 'ouch' for the graemlins/bcbkick.gif :D

Today I have had a really low point breakfast and will continue to eat really low all day. I just don't know what has happened to that part of me that was refusing junk for a whole year!!!! Water was my greatest companion for a long time but lately I just seem to have given it up. :( I need to get back to it NOW!!!!!

Today we are going to a lake so I think I'll walk around it a couple of times whilst DH and his parents watch the kids swimming.

Gotta go buddies, and thanks again

Take care

Hi Mandy don't be too hard on yourself. The good thing is that you can begin again right now and you can cut back some points if you went over. You are OK.

Mandy, you've had some great advice, particularly from Tina. Building points into your day for a special treat is a wonderful idea, especially since it is summertime and ice cream is a real temptation. Think how much better it will taste if you know you've budgeted the pts for it.

Hang in there girlfriend.

Mandy, just a quick thought, if ice cream is your downfall, check your points guide for the lowest point ones that you like. I have one most days, okay it's a water ice and I've never been fond of them, but it was a new one out with 5 different rings and each a different flavour, and they're only 1/2 point each! so I can always squeeze one of them into my points total.

All of your advice is fabulous buddies. I did well today, especially since all of the yummy British chocolate has gone that the in-laws brought with them. No ice cream today :D

Tomorrow we are off to Vancouver for the day and may end up eating out but I'll have a salad.

Thanks again graemlins/kiss.gif

Take care

Oh Mandy,
I was feeling a little overwhelmed yesterday. I was hungry, but not hungry. SO I knew it was an emotional need. I could not think of a thing to eat, so after the hospital I bought fast food (no McD's I would have never had that many points to spare). I used my banked points to compensate. Thank you Mandy, when choosing my fast and quick dinner I thought of you and choose accordingly. Goodness it was hard not to go and by ice cream of potatoe chips. I think that is what I really wanted. I even through someof it away.
I love Bizz's advice about the ice cream. I have the same in the freezer, small cie cream 2 points, I mean small, with vanilla & orange. I also have fruit water ice creams which are 1 point to do the trick. Just knowing I am allowed and that they are there help. I also think she was dead on about breaking the cycle of running to comfort food. But that will take time.
Hugs Tina

Megan-No offense, but did you read the BCB Training Manual and FAQS? A BCB never, intentionally, goes OFF PROGRAM. If you don't have the points to eat ice cream, you DON'T EAT ICE CREAM!

This is a hardcore group and we do not coddle one another or pat eachother on the hand and say, "That's ok." As far as BCB is concerned, it is NOT ok.

Mandy was asking for help and that is what she got.

I'm right there with you on that one, Sal! We all need a kick in the pants sometimes (me included)!

Mandy - Your next day (in fact your next meal) is a chance to let go of the past and start fresh and OP. Do not beat yourself up over what you did. The past is past and you can not change it. Just learn from it and go forward. Start back OP right away and incorporate some of the great tips you got from others here. We are here to help you....when you feel like "chucking it" and going off program, come here instead and get your mindset back where it needs to be. We are here for you!

Goodness everyone let this thread die a natural death. This two years old!

Please don't get into it over something that happened years ago.
