Buddies,
In order to get definites prices, I have to have a date. We can go for a four night trip leaving on a Thursday and returning on Monday. Or we can go for 3 nights. The difference in price is only about $100 and since it is a whole day for travelling, I vote for the four night.
Since it is still a ways off, I hope we can settle on a date that will fit everyone.
Here are some suggestions:
March 11th -15th
March 18th-22nd
April 15th-19th
April 22nd-26th
I will also need to know if you are bringing spouse and children and if so the ages of children.
The two resorts I am looking at are the Golden Crown Paradise and the Crown Paradise. DH and I have been going to these resorts for 9 years. They are sister resorts and we can use the facilities at both. They have a free shuttle service every 15 minutes. The Golden Crown is for adults only and the Crown Paradise is a family resort with a special kids club.
Here is a link to get more info Crown Paradise (http://www.crownparadise.com/sitio/index.php)
Please vote as soon as possible so I can get the prices.
Thanks,
Cinna

Well, my vote is for March 11th, since it's my spring break.

April 15-19th is out for me, I reserve the week after Easter for a family tour vacation. Otherwise I'm probably OK.
I would most likely be travelling alone.

Cinna:
Since I really am not sure what days I'll be available in the event of a strike, I will go with the majority and try to work around the date. If, of course, we are still on strike, I will have to pull out. I think I will look into the trip insurance that Mardee was talking about. Right at this moment, the strike seems very likely. How long it will be..... we're all hoping for a short one! Hopefully not longer than the end of the year!
I will be travelling alone.

I'm flexible and can go along with the majority.

The March 11th would be good for me too! Early enough that I won't get in trouble for running off to Italy at the end of the month! :D

Cinna,
Any of the above dates will work fine with me....I believe that it will only be me and hubby.....unless other's plan of bringing children then I might bring my 10 year old...otherwise she is staying at home...

March is really bad for me. Any time in April is good for me though.

Hi Fab. 40's,
April is better for me. If everything goes well with DH, I will be in Florida anyway. But if it is in March the first week might be tough, but maybe not impossible.

Pretty much any time is good for me if I can talk DH into going. He's kinda shy, but I'm working on him. So whatever dates you guys choose, would be good for me, cause my German is tough to convince. When I suggested that I go by myself he looked at me like I had 2 heads! LOL. Guess after 30 years, something by myself would be a little different.

Kim,
this link will give you all of the info
Cancun (http://www.healthdiscovery.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=005407)
The trip will include the following:
Airfare
Hotel
all food and drinks, including alcohol
transfers to and from hotel
all taxes
the only things not covered are excursions and souveniors.
The prices will be different because of location. It is surprising that the distance isn't always the biggest cost factor. For me, the cost increases because we don't have an international airport in the state.
