I spoke at length with Vickilynn this afternoon, and was much encouraged. She is staying in the family house on the hospital grounds and will be there, hopefully, until next Monday or Tuesday. I say hopefully, because some bozo doc still wants to send her home before all the testing is done.
She found a nurse today who really listened to her concerns, and who was able to answer most of them for her. Yay, nurses!!!
Her son is home on Spring Break and is staying with her at the hospital, along with her oldest daughter.
That in itself has to provide some healing smile.gif
On the medical front, things are still in an acute stage. She faces more tests and treatment, and is unable to eat due to mouth and throat ulcers that are secondary to the chemotherapy she is receiving.
Her blood counts are better, but they're rocking all over the place. She continues to experience some bleeding, as well, which is a concern.
Once she becomes an outpatient, the plan is for her to go to North Carolina, where she's from. Her family doctor knows what is going on and he's prepared to hook her up with the best indicated treatment. She's not overly impressed with what's happened to her where she is now, and neither am I.
She sends her very best wishes to all her Buddies, and most especially to Selma, to whom she sends her love.
