***UPDATE*** The post below was made last Thurs (03/11/04) after a vacation & terrible experiment! This week, I was OP all week & just wanted to share that I lost 5 lbs. So even though 6.4 lb gain is tremendous, I learned a HUGE lesson & it left me SO motivated this week, that I couldn't wait to go to weigh in, so I went a day early! Anyhow, hope everyone is having a great week.....I AM!!

ORIGINAL POST******I'm NOT trying to make excuses here, but I thought I would share my experience, but even w/ negative results...it's quite the inspiration for me!*****

My husband & I went out of town & I left WW at home, I didn't exercise, didn't watch my points & at the end of the week, was feeling bad, less energy, clothes weren't fitting right & I had no desire to get out & do anything. I knew it was b/c of my poor diet choices for the week, so I figured I would use this as a learning tool. This week I practiced my PRE-WW habits & I gained 6.4lbs in 7 days. That's what I was doing before WW, it's logical that eating like this, I could have gained 100 lbs in a year! I'm back OP & plan on keeping that way...regardless of another vacation coming up in 2 weeks! Anyhow, I expect the negative comments, but I know what I did was bad for me & am on the track to fix it this week and most importantly I learned how hard it is to lose 1 lb but so very, very easy to gain 6 lbs!

When I made lifeime I thought I could maintain on my own.

You can guess what happened... graemlins/sobbing.gif

So now I'm back getting weighed and having to pay once a week until I take some weight off.

As a lifetime member, you only have to weigh in once a month. That's paying once a month as long as you're over goal, not every week. Unless you really want to be weighed and pay every week? Your leader and WW won't mind. smile.gif

Ooooo Ginger! Sometimes it's painful to have to learn the hard way! Glad you've come to your senses.

after i was lifetime and gained most of the weight back, i made myself go to WW every week until i got back into range. i think it's the only thing that helped. yeah, it's a lot of money, but obviously, i needed more accountability.

This is for leaving WW at home graemlins/bcbkick.gif But you have done just the right thing. You evaluated what you did, and are taking steps so that you will not repeat that behavior. A hard lesson to learn BUT at least you learned it.

That's the BootCamp way. graemlins/bcbsalute.gif Good job!

At least you know your limitations, and you know that you will have to keep a close watch on yourself after you reach goal...but as long as you learned from it, it was worth it!

I know I only have to go once a month but going once a week holds me more accountable.

Once I get back down to my lifetimne weight I'll mark my calendar to go once a month.

I was talking to a girl at WW. a few weeks ago. She reached her goal - 40 lbs. gone last winter. Then, she stopped going and she was away on a number of trips over the summer. She came back to WW. a couple weeks ago and she has put all 40 lbs. back on! She is now devoted to WW. she says.

I don't think, even when I reach goal, I will ever not go to class. Maybe not every week, but I'll have to go more than the required once a month.

I was down 3.2 lbs. today so I was happy. Been struggling a lot lately.

Ashlee,
I'm with you, meetings or just the fact that you weigh in at WW, holds you accountable.
I fell off the WW wagon when I started making the "I don't really have time" excuse. Then the weight slowly crept back on.
From now on I will WI at least twice monthly!

All right Ginger! Sounds like a good lesson learned. Now, the hard part is to remember that always and not to let the slips happen again. Congrats on the loss!

I know where your comming from. I just got back from a Sandals All inclusive Resort last Sunday. I didn't count points for alcohol or food. I tried to make sensible choices most of the time, but I indulged in a few Pina Coladas, desserts, and regular breakfasts. I gained 3.5 lbs and am now back on track. I have already lost 1 lb of the gained weight. I weigh in this Friday and expect a gain from where I was before vacation, but, I know that being back on track will bring me where I belong in no time. I hit WW goal right before I left, so, it's back to work work work. I have 8 to lose to hit my Personal goal, and I plan to make it before the summer hits.
I know how you feel, though. It's like a set back.
Just remember, you keep your nose clean and behave and I will too!!
