I was driving home from work the other day and started thinking about how my life has changed and/or things I am grateful for as it relates to my weight loss. Thought I would share them:

1. Being able to cross my legs;
2. Not having my legs rub when I walk;
3. Not having to worry about whether I should
have my wedding band cut off because it's
getting that tight;
4. Being able to shop for clothes anywhere -
including the junior dept (!!!!);
5. Feeling reeeaaaallllly good everyday;
6. Realizing that I do in fact have self-control
and determination;
7. Still having energy after getting home from
a long day at work;
8. Finding out that cooking and exercising
really can be fun;
9. Having the thought, "So, this is what
it's like to be living life instead of just
surviving it";
10. No longer hearing that little voice saying,
"no you're not" after giving myself a
positive affirmation;
11. Not minding having my picture taken anymore;
12. Feeling the pride of accomplishment no matter
how small;
13. Having people ask my advice on how to eat/
exercise;
14. Being thanked for being an inspiration to
someone in their weight loss;
15. Being called "skinny" (although I do still on
occassion look behind me because I'm sure
they're not talking to me);
16. Knowing all of the life threatening diseases
I have saved myself from;
17. Becoming more confident/out-going/willing to
try new things

After I thought about it, it was quite overwhelming and almost brought me to tears -- but, I was so dang happy that wasn't gonna happen!! WOW - thanks to these boards and WW!

Kelbel - what a wonderful post! I'll say AMEN to just about all of those. smile.gif I'm thankful for every day on this earth that God has given me and am thankful that he gave me enough smarts to help save myself!

KelBel, what a great list and an awesome sense of accomplishment. Kudo's to you.

I can relate to so much on your list and that's why I'm striving to get back to goal.

Be certain to print your list out and refer to it whenever necessary. If kept in mind, the things that you have written will keep you where you want to be weight loss wise.

By golly, I think I'll make a list for my darn self smile.gif . You've inspired me smile.gif .

Thanks guys! Sometimes I just get so darn happy about all of this it just has to come out or I'll explode :D

Linda: AMEN! But for the grace of God go I. I never what to forget from whence I came!

GTF: You go girl! I retyped my list and saved it and have even added to it already!! Going on the fridge tonight right next to my kids' artwork as Mom's "Look What I Did"!! Would love to see your list -- maybe I can add to mine even more!

The 30s gals know that I post three things daily as to things I'm looking forward to as I lose my weight. Many of the things on your list are on mine...I can't wait till I can do the flipside list and post it as something I'm grateful for rather than looking forward to.

Wow...I haven't made one of those lists yet. I've been more focused on the day-to-day challenge of the program at this point smile.gif I think tonight I will make a list!! Thanks for the post!

Your list is wonderful, sometimes I get caught up in the process and the goal and I don't appreciate where I am. Thank you for sharing!

RuthAnne: I find that stepping back once in awhile to see the "big" picture really keeps things in perspective and keeps me on the right track.

What a great list!!! You all encourage me, I think I am going to start listing things I am grateful for every evening. Thanks ffom this newbie who really does love of the encouragement here.
