Does anyone else do The Firm videos? How do you count them for activity points? I don't sweat as much as with cardio, but on the other hand, I do feel exhausted when I finish... moderate or high?

My 2 favorite Firm videos are Body Sculpt (45 min) and Total Sculpt (60 min) I sweat as much as on a cardio workout...
I count them as moderate activity.
The one place I'm finding I'm shrinking most is the saddle bags area <G> i needed to lose the gut the most. :(

I count complete aerobics and weight training as moderate and total sculpt as light. 4 and 2 APs, respectively. I feel like I get a lot out of total sculpt but it is not a continual, heart pounding routine.

I rarely rarely count anything as high intensity. only when I do interval running to build speed and I do an all-out sprint do I count high intensity.

I suppose you have to test it and see which works for you.

Here is how I count my APs:
Firm Cardio Sculpt Blaster (30 min) - 4 APs (high)
Firm Body Sculpt Blaster (30 min) - 4 APs (high)
Firm Fat Blaster (45 min) - 6 APs (high)
Firm Super Body Sculpt (45 min) - 4 APs (moderate)
Firm Cardio Sculpt (55 min) - 7 APs (high)
Firm Body Sculpt (45 min) - 6 Aps (high)
Firm Ab Sculpt (25 min) - 1 AP (low)
Firm Volume I - (65 min) - 8 Aps (high)
Firm Volume II - (65 min) - 8 APs (high)
Firm Volume IV (Time Crunch-45 min) - 6 APs (high)

Of course, I use maximum weight on most of the videos. I am losing an average of 1.5 pounds per week, so I think for me these are acceptable AP counts.

Ultimately, I think it is really perceived exertion. You also have to see if you are steadily losing weight (I assume that you intend to eat your APs tongue.gif ).

Good luck on figuring it out! smile.gif

I've been thinking about getting the Firm tapes, but am not sure they're worth it. Hearing about your results and APs gained is great! I may actually have to get one. I'll see if Blockbuster has it first tho. ;)

Okay, I'm thinking medium. But I'm planning to buy the "fanny lifter" step (I've been using a regular step 'til now) so maybe I'll change my mind when I get that.

I love The Firm so much. By the way, if you have CVS in your neck of the woods, they have a four pack on sale for $20 this week. The choreography of the new tapes is fun! The squats off the side of the step are my favorite. Listen to me, I sound like a maniac...

I count all of them half way between "moderate" and "high" intensity, the exact number depends on the length of the workout and how I did that particular day. 1-hour workouts come out as 5 or 6 APs at my weight (approx. 140). But I tend to use more weight than the 3, 5, and 8 pound starting weights. Sometimes a lot more. I attempt to "work to failure." When I catch myself thinking of a Firm workout as "light" or even "easy moderate" it is time for heavier weights for some or all exercises. Unless I am doing aerobics/cardio I don't use "heart pounding" as my main indicator of intensity. Weight training can be very intense without getting the heart rate up in the same way as aerobics.

I, too , love the firm workout. but, would not count as high activity points as you guys.

On the back of the points booster, "high" is reserved for running, jogging, or high impact aerobics.

On the firm tape, it classifies itself as low impact or high impact, etc.
most are low or mixed impact...so " medium" on the points booster would be appropiate.
