I am finding the flex points plans to hard. Only in that I am SOOO tempted to binge on the 35 points at one time. I am thinking of returning to the winning points program. I loved having a range and being able to mix it around some days eating low, and then eating high. I felt like I had to earn those extra banked points...plus I think the rule of eating only 10 in a week was a good one.

I am using the winning points - it was working well but for the last few weeks.

I cannot binge, even if scheduled. It ruins my momentum, my incentive. I really think of this as re-training my body with healthier eating habits and it is working.

So, I stick to my old fashioned ways.

Hi; count me in as a winning points ww. I am a lifetimer working back to goal. I tried flexies from Aug to Oct and set myself up for a binge pretty much every weekend. No more. I like the structure of winning points. I like banking my points and knowing exactly where I stand. Also I like being able to bank my AP. I lost 62 lbs on winning points and am staying with them to lose these pesky 10 lbs.

I also found that saying 35points was too hard, so what I've done is move my points up 2 +5 smile.gif so what was 20-25 or target of 22 is now 22-27. IF I use them I use them if I don't I don't and if I borrow from peter to pay paul it all works out. smile.gif Last week was harder, I had 18points left that 22-27 gone by Friday so I did a shift, told myself to aim for 20-25 and go from there, excerise if I wanted or needed more work with it. so far so good, Wednesday is week end for me, so we'll see what he scales says. I need the discipline I learned form the ranges. I'm just "doing some target math" more than I used to.

I find that when I go much above 25 points, I gain weight, so even as a maintainer I stay between 18 and 23 points per day.

I am on Winning Points, but once my life settles down and I can get my 5 month old and other kids in a more predictible routine I am going to exercise more. Then I may want to shift to Flex Points and really work on my APs. For now I like the range.

I am back on Winning points, but actually I do a hybrid of the two, eating as many points as is possible with Flex points, but Winning-points style. It works well for me.
I want to try to maintain at a higher points range so I refuse to eat the lowest amount of points.

I just posted a message about this on another board. I was on Flex Points and following it, but it wasn't working for me, so I'm going back to Winning Points. However, I threw away all my old WW literature...can someone please post the points spreads at different weights?

Thanks!

I too have gone back to Winning Points. Having the 35 flex points all at once is just more than I can handle. I find that 25 points a day is just about perfect for me most days. (My target on FP is 22.) So I have 25 points a day, and 14 "banked" points for the week. This is a much better option for me!

Yes, I think it is difficult to plan "eating events" for myself--I have to stay true to a daily & regular plan--the first points program--winning points? When I used to attend WW meetings, I recall there was a mother/daughter team who would go to Outback for lunch after each Sat. meeting. They would enjoy a burger there. I always thought the whole idea was so dear--I wish I could be that way, but it just sets me up to want to enjoy a burger the next day and somehow I can't fit that into the points!

Sooo, if I want to work something sweet or bigger than what my program calls for in, I must do it daily and in moderate amounts rather than planning for something big at the end of the week. It's a mind set for me & I need that mindset 24/7. I wish I could be like the afore mentioned ladies, but it just sets me up for binging.

I like to hear what works for others, too. This whole program is just not easy for me. BUT, I'm old enough to know that there are no free rides & it's me against ME & the me that wants to be a healthy weight is going to win--dogggggonnniiitttt!!!!!

Yep, count me back on the winning points bandwagon. Flex Points seemed like binging to me also and once I got started, it was hard to stop. Maybe I'll go back to Flexing later on. I'll see how it goes.

I'm still doing WINNING POINTS as well. I found that Flex Points was not structured enough for me. Having those 35 Flex Points made it too easy for me to binge, which is what I'm trying to overcome. Knowing I had all those points available, I found myself planning and looking forward to a huge and fattening meal on the weekend. I am much more in control and successful on WINNING POINTS.

Winning points works for me at lifetime, so why change? I know the extra points are there in case but I rarely use them. I stay at my target of 22 and all's well in the world!

me too, me too, me too.

I can't really tell you why the flexpoint program didn't work for me, but it didn't.

I find it much easier to journal the winning points way. Having the range and banking points just seems to work better for my brain.
