Good morning Goal getters!
Hope you all had a good day yesterday.I took the daycare kids to the movies. They of course had a good time but it put everyone off schedule and all naps were short so everyone was a little cranky.Dh came back from Dr. and said everything was getting back to normal.(Now if he would stop whining.LOL)His sugar is still a little high and we are working on that.He stopped and bought some fresh tomatoes and a huge watermelon. So I know what I will be having for lunch.A fresh salad and watermelon.I found a lean steak @ kroger and will grill it for our salads.
I didnt get in the exercising because of field trip with daycare kids so I really got to step it up this week.I bowl tonight so thar will help some.My arm is so sore and I dont think its from bowling.I actually think maybe a combo of bowling and I have been wearing ankle weights and weighted gloves when I walk.My arms are so big I am sure this will help.Well gotta run for now BBL.
Drink your water and walk:bcb_march:bcb_march

Good morning, Barb-and all who follow.
Barb, that sounds like a great lunch you have planned. I am so glad that your DH is doing better. He may be whining because our men love it when we cater to them.:bcb_grinMy DH is that way. He had 2 hernia operation a few years back and the first one, I learned a great lesson, he liked to be babied. So the second one, he was my little big kid. He was on cloud nine and I got many rewards out of that. I like what Dr. Laura says in Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands, he just wants me to adore him. (hee hee) It really worked! BOY HOWDY! Enjoy your time with your DH, he'll be back to the grindstone soon and then we miss them when they are working.
Have a wonderful OP Thursday!
Blessings to you and yours,

Good Morning Barb & Lissa and all those who follow

Glad you ladies are both doing good and [b]Barb[/] Glad things with your hubby is getting back to norma. Have fun bowling tonight.

Whew I am whipped and it's only 10:30. I've earned 10 APs already this morning. First I did the FIRM's Bootcamp Maximum Calorie Burn and then I went out and finished mowing the yard, trimmed the hedges, raked, lopped & blew the driveway!!! I still have more hedges to trim but they'll have to wait 'til tomorrow. I can't move another step now.

Eating will be good today as I've planned everything and will stick to the plan. I sure hope I have a loss at tomorrow's W/I.

Have a great OP Thursday everyone!

Nikki - Did you leave for vacation yet?

Barb--glad to hear DH is better--I was worried last week.

I am struggling, hence I haven't changed my OP days below because, well, I'm not doing well. Worked hard yesterday, at gym and home. I need to swear off sweets. Just found this to remind me of what to do when planning, even if I'm flexing rather than doing core:
The best time to think about this is at the beginning of your day. Plan your day's foods with meeting the 8 Good Health Guidelines in mind FIRST, and non-Core foods or servings beyond the guidelines SECOND.

So. I'd plan out 2 servings of dairy (or 3, if over 50), 2 tsp. oil, 5 servings fruits/vegetables, 6 cups of water, protein and whole grains FIRST.

That's like putting the big rocks in a jar. (Your 8 Good Health Guidelines are met for the day, no matter what.)

Then fill-in your medium rocks (Core foods that don't meet Guidelines, i.e. soymilk, soy cheese, FF sour cream, too little FF cottage cheese to meet a serving requirement, etc.).

And then the pebbles (Core and non-Corefoods that season and spice, and add flavor and fun)! For instance, turn your 1 C. FF milk serving into hot chocolate or a latte or a pudding, if you want.

If you get full too quickly and have a hard time meeting your 8 Great, leave out broth (soup) or ice (smoothies--use frozen fruit instead of ice). You can DOUBLE-UP your guideline foods: for instance, you can cook your hot cereal in milk, or put dried milk into a skim-milk cocoa or yogurt smoothie.

(If you're wanting to feel more full, add-in liquids -broth and ice-, plain gelatin or extra vegetables. Choose low energy density foods, like beans/legumes and whole grains.)

This is from WW Carol on the Core board, but I think it applies to everyone.

It is HOT here--95 today. House is slowly shaping up--carpenter putting in shelves and bookcases on Monday--Yeah! Then the painter, then DS goes to London, then vacation, then DD leaves for NYC, DS returns, DS leaves for college--Yikes! no wonder I'm exhausted and frustrated with progress. I really want to succeed at this. Have to go to the doctor in Sept and don't want this weight on.

Hey girls,
Glad to see everybody on.I ahve decided it's not enough for me to journal my food and exercise at home but I am keeping a journal here online as well. That way I can be more accountable. It is so easy for m to say I will write it down later and later never comes.I can also keep track of my water.I really need to work on that.
Melissa :Hope you are having a good day!:bcb_grin
Sheila don't that yard work wear you out.I dont get that tired doing it until I am done and then It seems I get shaky from it.Don't over do it is awfully hot.:D
Ellen:Thank you for your imput last week on DH.He still aint quite right but so much better. He really has to get his sugar under better control.I dont think they should have released him so quick @ the hospital when his sugar was over 300 but with these small town's you get whatever service they have.Any way Im glad thats behind us.He is still sore on the inside but improving everyday.Thank you so much for your advice. It's nice to hear it from a friend and nurse.Wow you sound as busy as me.Have a great day:bcb_up

Hey ladies! You all seem to be doing an awesome job.

Sheila: Great job on earning 10 APs you are doing an awesome job! Just be careful out in that heat! ((((skinny vibes for your wi))))

Barb: Glad DH is feeling better. Men are just babies. I know when my DH has a cold, you would think the whole world was in some sort of crisis! Are you still using your pedometer?

Melodee: How are things going? I haven't heard from you in a while. Are you still counting steps with your pedometer?

Ellen: You have so much going on! Don't stress yourself. Just try to do the best you can eating wise when you are out, especially if you can't count points. But I know you won't give up, so keep pushing and you will definitely get there!

Cammie: How's it going today? Is today a bike riding day?

Christen: Missing you over here!!

Melissa: I know you can definitely get back on track! You have GOT to get to Onederland and I have no doubt that once you get there, it will be smooth sailing from there!

Lissa: How's it going? I was looking at some clothes I bought last week and started saying I can't wait until I can fit into the 9/10s like you!!! Keep up the great work and TRY to forget about the scale!

Well, I am going to take some more pics. I took pics last at the beginning of June. I haven't lost alot of weight and I don't really think the inches have really gone down alot, but we will see. I am definitely looking for a maintain or loss after this week at the beach. I am doing Jillian's 20 min workout in the morning and evening while I am at the beach so I hope that will help. We are cooking our own breakfasts except for one morning so I hope that will help me as well. I am packing healthy snacks for everyone so I really hope to make some kind of progress, especially with all the walking we will be doing too!

Anyway, I wi tomorrow so I hope it is down some!

Nikki, I believe in you. You are such a cheer leader to all of us. Thanks for those great personals to each of us. We are looking to hear some good news for you. I am SURE that when you get those pictures, you are going to be in for an encouraging surprise. (((skinny vibes))) for tomorrow's WI!

I haven't lost alot of weight and I don't really think the inches have really gone down alot, but we will see.
I keep reminding myself that it is a LIFETIME goal and not a temporary fix. It took me 40+ years to get here and if it takes me that long to lose it then, so be it.
