Good morning Ladies,
Thought I would get us started today.OMg My fingers don't won't to type right this morning.I had a pretty good week end I had several secret shops to do and Some POP Materials to put out so Nothing fun but a lot of walking.Didn't do anything fun saving money for next week's tournament in chattanooga.Does anyone know what the average person walks in a week.I wore a pedometer everyday last week but sometimes I took it off early.I walked about 21,000 steps.I know its more than that because I don't wear it bowling or riding my exercise bike. Any way just wondering.Have a great day everyone BBL to chat.:bcb_march:bcb_march

Good Monday Morning Ladies,
I'm ready for a great OP day today. I have to go food shopping for CORE foods today because that's the plan I'm planning to follow. My Dr suggested I go on a low sodium diet and I found a really good one called the DASH diet and I think it will fit better with CORE. I'm excited to be getting back in control but I know today will be tough but I WILL do it.
Nikki & Melissa - Thanks so much for the encouragement you gave me yesterday! You can't imagine how much it helps. I'm so happy to have you ladies with me on this journey.
I'm off to Stn Mtn to get in a nice walk this morning. You ladies have a great day and I'll check back soon.

Good Morning Ladies! I had a decent weekend overall.
Barb: I think they say you should aim for 10,000 steps a day. Once you achieve that daily or on the average, you begin to increase it by 2000. 10,000 steps equals out to about 5 miles I think. I will look it up again for you, but I think 2000 steps equals a mile.
Me controlling my weekend eating is getting better. I make my menu ahead of time and I try to stick to it. It has become easier lately because I havent had any events, parties and such to attend. So, it looks like it will be that way until I go to the beach so I should be able to be successful for a while!
As far as the beach is concerned, I am still working hard at trying to have a noticeably changed body by then. We will see, but for the class reunion in August, I will definitely be looking AWESOME!!
Have a great day ladies and I will be back to check in later. LOTS of laundry to get done today.

Boy the threads were hoppin this weekend. I'll have to catch up on personals later, I'm taking tomorrow off so I need to get to work ASAP today.
I was up .6 at weigh in...no biggie. I spent 12 hours straight cleaning yesterday. There were boxes we never unpacked from over a year ago when we moved in stashed in the corner of our dining room. I got through all those and everything else in the apartment, rediscovered our dining room table...stored the Christmas tree:bcb_blush....haha, it looks a lot better and it's amazing how big the apartment is w/out all the boxes and junk laying around. Now if we can just keep it that way.
Foodwise I did well this weekend, but I didn't eat enough or hit my healthy 8's. And I'm Terrible about drinking water over the weekend.
Mom is coming in town tonight, so I'll probably mostly be eating out tonight and tomorrow...so that's going to be tough but I should be able to make decent choices.

Good morning buddies,
I am going to come up with my weeks plan today and I'm going to get to the gym for about 90 minutes at some point today. It's raining out, so the gym is my only option today! I weighed myself this morning after my big time eating weekend and I am happy to see that I only gained .6. That will be no problem to take off this week, and hopefully more! I need to have a loss on Saturday, so I need to be strict with my eating, healthy 8's and exercise! Here's to a great day!
Today is my day 3 of my week, and I already earned 16 aps so far, so i'm in the mode for exercise. Now I just have to get my eating healthy 8's in check! That's my goal for the rest of the week!
Nikki: we will do this. Concentrating 1 day at a time is a good idea! We can get 3 days under our belts no problem.
Sheila: No problem girl! That's what we're here for! Glad to hear that you're back on track and you have a low sodium plan. One day at a time!
Christen: Have fun with your mom. I'm sure you will make good choices out at dinner! Your'e right, .6 is no big deal, you'll have that gone in no time!
Barbara: Nikki is correct. My mom just talked to our leader about this and she said that we should try for 10,000 steps a day. Man, oh Man, I did double that this weekend!!
Okay, well it's time for me to go find something for breakfast. Have a great OP day ladies, and I'll check back in a little while! XOXO

OK GUYS IF THIS DON'T MOTIVATE ME THAN NOTHING CAN.
I was cleaning out my desk and organizer and found a pack of pictures. Some from 1986/87 When I was skinny and never thought about weight.Even after my son was born in 87 I lost the weight. Then I saw some from when I coached soccer when ds was about 5-6 yrs old(1992/93) and later I looked so fat it makes me sick.In my mind I have been thinking I just put this weight on in the last 4 or 5 years but thats not true.I am so embarrased to think I let myself get this way.Whenever I can get the courage to take a new picture I will post some before and after.I promise I just want to throw up looking at these.DH must be pretty good never to bring it up.I will get this weight off.I have lost 60 lbs since nov.So I know I can do it.
Ok enough whining Im just giving myself a big kick in the *ss:bcb_kick:
Hello melissa glad you had fun @ the beach.I am going to start making it a point to walk more daily.:bcb_march:bcb_march

Hi everyone. I'm going to post again for awhile. I'll see how it goes. I feel good about starting again and am excited to see Sheila and Nikki starting a count at day 1 today too. I was so tired of trying again and again and failing. I just had to take some time off. I'm so sorry about the Biggest Loser challenge. That has haunted me. I hate letting Buddies down. I talked my good friend into joining a 12 week weight loss challenge with me. I do well with stuff like that. I need some OUTSIDE motivation because getting healthy and losing weight obviously isn't enough for me. I hate that about myself. So, anyway, we get to the first meeting yesterday and, they say you can do whatever program you want. After 12 weeks, the Biggest Loser (so far there are five or six of us) get 50% of the payout, 2nd gets 25% and 3rd gets 10#%. They have incentive prizes along the way and the nationwide Biggest Loser (going by Dec 31st weigh in) wins tickets to Hawaii. I don't plan on winning, don't get me wrong, but my big joke with my friend is which of us is going to win. We were planning on going to Hawaii next year anyway. I soooooo have to lose weight before we go. (If we can afford it. Have you seen airfare prices lately? YIKES!) So, anyway, half way through our meeting, the host tells us she lost her weight with Herbalife and it turned into a HUGE Herbalife pitch. I was the ONLY one in the group, including my friend, that didn't wasn't buying into this because our host lost 100 lbs in 10 months. So, my new goal is to show them that I can lose this weight the old fashioned way. I'm going to get control of my eating habits (cutting out sugar and whites and pumping up the protein) and EXERCISE! I can rev up my metabolism without those supplements! I was thinking of all of you the whole time.
I'm not going to read back. I'll just jump in here and see how you all are doing as time goes on. It's so good to see the crew is still here!
I'll go post my goals and my week plan! It feels good to be back.

I was so happy when I logged on to see "WorkinMom"! Cammie, I am so glad you are back. I tried to email you just to make sure you were okay, but it said I had the wrong email addy! Some of us(me and Melissa) have really been struggling, but today is a new day and we are going to take it one day at a time. We should really set goals for the day and work at it like that. Glad to see you back!
Barb: I challenge you to start making your way to 10k steps a day! I used to do it and before I went to bed, if I was short on the steps, I would run in place until I hit 10k! You can do it!

One other thing, Cammie. I bought Herballife when I was in college. I received a box with shake mix and pills to take. I think that is enough said! I want FOOD!!!!! I need FOOD!!!

Thanks for the welcome back. I just LOVE you Buddies. I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to avoid you guys. I don't know how you got the wrong addy? Anywho, I'm back now!
Sorry, Melissa, is on Day 1 NOT Sheila. I'll be "up" on things after just a bit. :bcb_blush
I need a good pedometer. I've been thinking of that for such a long time! I just read about it somewhere too. I'm going to look for that again and hook myself up!

I'm back! Totally out of the loop for the past month. Moved out May 29, moved in June 12 then left town for convention for 4 days. Got back late Thurs and have done nothing but work around the house trying to find what's been unpacked--only moderately successful so far...:bcb_huh: My closets are a nightmare, but other things are more important. Everyone seems to be settling in. I might not be able to check in a lot since we don't have the computer totally set up, but with Cammie and Nikki and Sheila, I can say, Day 1 for me too! I'm in.
Going off to lunch.
Melissa73
06-23-2008, 11:55 AM
WEll, well, well....I go downstairs to get myself some lunch and when I return...LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN!!! WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited to see Cammie AND ellen posting!
Cammie: we missed you girl! You are not alone in the struggle. I've been going between 205 - 208 for over a month now and I am sooooo frustrated not to be in Onederland by now! UGH!!! But we are all in this fight together. So join us on our day 1 and we will all do this together! (((hugs))))
Ellen: Glad that you are finally settling in. Sounds like you've been busy! Glad to have you back and post as often as you can until that computer is all set. We missed you! XOXO
Barbara: I have quite a few of those FAT pictures. YUCK!! Some of them are quite embarassing...i'm just glad that I don't look disgusting in pictures anymore. I used to LOVE To get my picture taken and I would pose every time there was a camera around. Last few years, I've been AFRAID of the camera because the pictures were always sooo awful and showing some fat roll I didn't even know I had. But now, it's getting a little better to take pics again! I can't wait to see your before and after pics.
Well I didn't eat breakfast because I woke up at 10:30am and wasn't hungry. I finally got hungry around noon and figured, why bother with breakfast, I'll just eat lunch. So I made 2 grilled cheese...w/ 4 slices light bread, 2 tsp EVOO instead of butter on my bread (to get in my oils) and then 2 slices FF cheese. 6pts for 2 very good grilled cheese and some FF chips for 1 pt. I am going to have a big salad in a little while and cut up the watermelon on the counter to make sure I get in all my fruits and veggies. So far so good. I've had 4 out of my 8 waters and I plan on going to the gym, maybe aroudn 2 or 3ish. Today will be a POP day and I will get all my healthy 8's in and NOT eat after 9pm. :salut

I found this and it identified me to the letter!!
Make sure it's not an Attitude (http://www.healthdiscovery.net/articles/15Plateau_tips.htm) problem!
Are you on an attitude plateau?
Are you just tired of feeling like you're going to be doing this forever? Does that translate into that right now your desire to lose weight is equal to your desire for freedom from counting and having to think about points and healthy food choices? If so, then that mental attitude might be the culprit in that you're following a more relaxed adherence to the program but you think you're still doing it to the letter. Remind yourself of why you started this process, look at how far you've come. Is your goal still the same? Is it that you're scared of success, are okay with how you look right now, have you become complacent? Ask yourself these kind of questions honestly. If you're tired of the weight loss routine or have become complacent, try spicing up your food plan by trying more interesting meals and snacks, adding new foods, trying new recipes or new restaurants. Set new goals, setting a new goal can continue to challenge yourself. Pretend like it's your first week on program all over again, try to recapture that enthusiasm that you had in the beginning! You can do it as long as you don't give up!

Cammie It's so good to have you back! I was also MIA until yesterday when I decided that I needed to take control and get my butt in gear! You sound like you have your plan in place too. The challenge with your friend sounds exciting. I am going to see if my cousin wants to join me in doing some sort of challenge as we both have about the same amount of weight to lose and she is borderline high B/P.
Ellen So glad to hear you've moved into your new place. Hopefully, things will be back to normal for you real soon. Hang in there and just take it one day at a time like I'm trying to do.

Nikki - Hmmm...interesting. I guess I have known for a LONG time that attitude IS my problem. I know it's IN MY HEAD! I also know that I'm tired of constantly having to work at losing weight. Thanks for sharing that.
Sheila - My current weight is probably very close to yours. I stepped on the scale at the challenge yesterday and her scale is definitely waaayy off but I am posting it here as that is the only scale I will be using for the next 13 weeks. So, you and I can start off today on day 1 with about the same amount of weight to lose too. The funny thing is (well not so funny...) I used to see this friend as so much bigger and so much more out of control than myself. Well, look in the mirror honey. She only weighs 15 lbs more than me. I keep creeping up. We BOTH have a lot to lose and she's not the only one that needs motivation! :bcb_blush So glad you're back and how's day 1 going?
Melissa - OK. I never thought I'd have something in common with the work out queen who loses every week. So, now you're more real to me. AND, we'll do this together! I love your grilled cheese idea. I'd just have to count for the bread. YUM!
Ellen - Welcome to Day 1. Now, let's not let this be just another day 1 and down the road look back and wish we'd really stuck with it. Let's be the ones that do and have progress to show for it!!
Barb - Nothing like getting hit with reality to bring us to our senses sometimes huh? Just like I said about finding out how close I am to my friend. :bcb_blush Use those pics to keep you motivated. Stick them with your journal or something.
Christen - Are you still doing your strength program? I had almost forgotten about that. Make your plan for eating out. You can do it!

It's good to see so many coming back!
Cammie : Yes, I'm still doing my strength program. Stage 4 starts this week...probably Wednesday. I didn't feel any particular gains from stage 3, so I'm happy to be returning to a more leg heavy portion of the program.....
That biggest loser competition sounds like GREAT motivation by the way. You show 'em the good old fashioned lifestyle change works!
Nikki : Good attitude post. I think I'm verging on the cusp of falling into that. Must....fight....
I don't know where we'll be going tonight. Mom like Olive Garden and they have a pork dish that's very core friendly, just have to control the breadsticks & salad dressing. I can get grilled chicken like dishes anywhere so it should be fine...I'm pulling for TGI, but that's not really mom's style :bcb_grin

Christen: I cannot wait to get to the 150s like you!!! I am striving for it. The first time around I got to 162 but found out I was pregnant. That WON'T be happening this time! I got to 162.5 this time around and just went UP from there. I am gonna get it!
I know you will do great tonight eating out! Just get you a plan in place, stick to it and the rewards will come!!!

Wow, I am loving all this action in the thread today. Today is a GREAT day! I just had about 1 1/2 cups of watermelon for three fruit and all I hvae left for my healthy 8's is 2 veggie, which I have a salad planned, so I'll be getting in more veggies today than required :bcb_up and a few more glasses of water.
I haven't done anything yet today. It's pouring and thunder and lightening outside today. YUCK!! I am definitely going to the gym, but probably not until later. DS woke up really early this morning and was playing video games all morning and when I felt like going to the gym, I looked over and he is knocked out on my bed. I dont' feel comfortable leaving to go to the gym while he is sleeping. If he wakes up, he'll be nervous that i'm not here. He is left home alone frequently for an hour or so, but I like him to know i'm leaving, not just to wake up and find me gone. So I'll wait until he wakes up or until my mom comes home later.
Hope everyone is having a great day! This weather sucks, but after my busy weekend, I'm enjoying just sitting around, relaxing and doing laundry!
Nikki: Thanks for the "attitude" post because that is me 100% right now and I have to work hard to change my attitude. I'm also doing the comparison thing with my mom right now and frustrated that my mom just continually loses and I go up and down and up and down. She already at like 57.8 lbs gone and she and I started at the same time and I have more to lose than her. So I get a bit frustrated with myself that she is still following the program 100% and I slack off here and there, because I can totally be where she is now. I have to stop comparing and just focus on me and my struggles and my planning and pretend like it's week 1 all over again like the post suggests. WE CAN DO THIS!! I WILL REACH GOAL!!
Christen: I love that pork meal at Olive Garden. Just be strong with the bread sticks and dressing and you'll be fine! Just allow yourself one breadstick and dip your fork in your dressing. I always ask them to bring salad without the dressing and have it on the side. You can do this!!
Cammie: Yes, I struggle and yes i'm a realistic WW person just like everyone else. I have great stretches of being OP and then I slip, that's the reason I've been back doing this over and over and over for about 3-4 times now. I do great for the first 1/2 and then the second 1/2 is BLAH!! But i'm changing that this time. I got a little out of my system, splurged a bit and didn't really gain too much, so now I am ready to refocus and act like it's week 1 all over again! I'm halfway to my goal and I really want to reach it this time! Let's do this once and for all!!!
Hmmmmm, now what can I do? I'm kind of bored today! :bcb_huh:

Whew lots going on here today! I will promise to come back and read it all....I have to say I am THRILLED that so many are returning to us! YAY, I saw Ellen, Cammie, Sheila, and recently Anna too! We have missed you all tremendously!!!
Very brief update on my court saga. We spent the entire day there. The only thing to this point that the judge has ruled on is that we do get custody!!! YAY!!! Big problem though, for some reason, the judge thinks even though we will have primary custody we should still pay child support. We spent the day negotiating that. For some reason DH's ex seems to think that we should be paying her $800 more each month than we are currently (which is already alot!!). The judge will have to review our suggestions and make a ruling. DH makes 3 times what his ex does, however she has not been employeed full time in 6 yrs. She currently works 15 hours a week and the judge thinks we need to make up the difference????? The ex has a college degree and 20 yrs experience in the very same field that DH has. When she was last fully employed DH and her made roughly the same amount. Obviously he makes more than that now because he has had raises in the past 6 yrs! He even got her a job in this feild a few years back for which she went one day and then never went back. When DH told his boss about it ( he was stunned!) but offered to reduce what he is paying DH-lol, um no thanks.
So anyway the courts are quite screwy!
Thank you all for your good thoughts today, even though it is still crazy, we did get the most important thing resolved, so I do appreciate that!

WHOOOHOOO!!! Abbie!! I am so glad to hear that. Now about the paying HER...WTF???!?!?!?!? That is crazy because she can get a job and make up the difference herself! Since you will have custody of the kids, she should pay child support to YOU!
In other news, I have been real snacky today. Just eating this and that, here and there. I really gotta stop. I am finished eating for tonight anyway, but don't really know what's going on. Once my food is settled good, I will be doing Turbo Jam's Cardio Party(4APs) before bed and ab ripper(200 various crunches).
Have a great night. So glad everyone is back!
