Good morning and Happy Tuesday ladies.
I hope everyone is doing good. Today I need to watch the sodium because I'm feeling a little bloated. I'll be drinking lots of lemon water today. I can't believe I'm working on day 23 OP. I just have to stay focused this time so I can be successful.
I'm headed out for a nice walk now so I will check back later.

Good morning sheila,
Hey what does the lemon do?I am just curious Is it just for taste or does it actually help do something.?If it does something maybe I should buy some lemons.I am trying to get my water in more I have been slacking.

Lemon works as a diuretic. It is great!! First thing in the morning I drink it in hot water and throughout the day, I put it in my drinking water. It works wonders.

I just realized that you've lost 50 pounds!!! Congrats and hang in there. You'll be in onederland before you know it! I'm trying so hard to make it back there too.

Good morning GG's. My workout last night kicked my butt big time. I actually almost hurt myself doing the stupidest exercise in the world (squat push press) luckily I wasn't doing that much weight or I would have knocked my teeth out - the bar came back down on my mouth instead of my chest b/c my arms were to fatigued. I should have stayed home and went to bed early...but I still finish my 50+ minutes so I'm pleased. Tonight is just a run and my muscles need the rest! It looks like all this activity is going to pay off this week b/c the scale was down .4 and it's only Tuesday!
Barbara : Good luck getting to onederland. I know you can do it. And congrats on the 50lbs so far.
Sheila : I never knew that about lemon. I might have to give that a try. do you use actual lemons or just get lemon juice? Is it the same either way? Thanks for the tip.

Thanks sheila,
I will surely go buy lemons today!:bcb_grin
Christen:DDon'tyou hate when you do something workin out that scares the crap out of you.I have done stuff like that and felt so stupid.Glad you are ok.I work out now on ds total gym and sometimes I don't pay attention to the settings and he will move them just to see if I paying attention.

The worst part was my DH was using the same squat rack and he kept babysitting me and then when I hurt myself...grrrrrrrr....I just wanted him to go away and stop asking if I was really OK! But I'm fine, not even a busted lip, just a little hurt pride :bcb_grin

Good Morning Ladies!
Barb: No gain is ALWAYS great! Now, that you are back on track, I am sure you will hit Onederland real soon! We are going to have to have a virtual party for all you ladies about to cross the Onederland finish line!
Sheila: Day 23 is AWESOME! You are doing so well and I know you will continue! I know the lemon water will help with that sodium! You are on your way to getting off of those BP meds and I can't wait!!!
Christen: OMG with the barbell! I applaud you for getting that workout finished, but for future reference, when you are really fatigued just stop!! I don't want you to hurt yourself! I will be doing my run later today too. DH had to get to a meeting this morning so I couldn't hit the tread for speedwork. I saw that you were thinking about a half in September. I am training for one that is in August. The actual training plan doesn't start until the last week of the month so I am sure if you start now, you will be more than ready. I am following Hal Higdon(Hidgon) and it is great so far. I usually quit training programs, but I am on week four right now. Here is the link for you to check out. www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm (http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm)
Today is going slow so far. I haven't had breakfast because DS is extra clingy today and will scream at the top of his lungs if I put him down. I tried to just let him cry thinking he will stop shortly, but after about 7 minutes, I gave in. Anyway, I am going to go and put my workout clothes on so I will be ready to get in some workouts whenever I can get him out of my lap. I couldn't run this morning and have to do it tonight. Well, I am not famous for running at night because I never do it, but tonight I am determined to get it done and I will get it done!
Have a great day ladies! ((((skinny vibes)))) to anyone weighing in tomorrow!
I am loving this daily thread! Easier to catch up with everyone!

Nikki: Thanks for the link. By that schedule I need to start at the end of June and I'm sure I'll have no problem getting to my 3miles straight before then. I'm almost there. So when I get there I'll start that program so I can give it a couple extra weeks if need be. :bcb_up

05-13-2008, 09:03 AM
Christen:I like that schedule because at the LEAST, all I have to do is run 3 days a week. The second run day you can do an easy run or cross train. That is what has helped me not burn out so far! Good luck!!

Morning all! Not much to report, still up slightly with 2 days till WI. Hopefully I can get it moving because I REALLY wanted to hit the 130's this week....even if it's 139.99999 lol. I am planning on the gym (time permitting) this afternoon for some treadmill and strength training. Will earn 3 AP's there and then planning on step aerobics tonight for another 3 AP's.

Barb - What did you put in your shake? That might be one of those breakfast foods I could be adding. I mentioned yesterday that I need to find some. I'm buying lemons today too!
Christen - I too am glad you're OK. Nikki is right. Stop when you're fatigued. That means you've worked that muscle out and can move on to the next thing. I've used that training schedule before and liked it too.
Nikki - You're doing so well. I'm a little jealous that you get to be home with your clingy little guy. DD is sick today...probably an ear infection. She cried a lot this a.m. I couldn't stay home today though so DH is home with her. I'm hoping they'll swing by so I can see how she is on their way home from the clinic.
Sheila - OH YEAH! 23 days! :bcb_salut How was your walk?
Abbie - 139.999999 LOL It will be soon for you. Stay focused!!
Good morning to all who follow.
I could be bummed. My WI last eve was aweful. I gained 4 lbs. (Sorry BLACK team members!!) I knew I would gain but totally did not expect 4 lbs. That's all of my loss from April PLUS my 2.5 from last week. I told my WI buddy that I will have it all gone by next week! I have to. I have packed all core foods today. Some aren't that exciting but I am going to make myself get through this day and try to make something yummier tomorrow. (Like the shake above!! I have protein powder to use up still too!!!) I'm going to use this as a motivator and not get down in the dumps about it!

You guys are right about stopping when fatigued...problem was it was my first exercise...I think I just didn't warm up enough to get the blood flowing b/c the remainder of the work out was better, and a lot less dangerous :bcb_up Tonight I'm only running and if my muscles aren't up to strength on Wednesday then I'm just going to do a cardio class or maybe get a nice yoga DVD and finish the weights on Friday, which will be my last workout for stage 2 of my program. :kickbutt:

Raining cats and dogs here. It looks like night outside! Well, it is expected to pass through relatively quickly. It can rain all it wants today as long as Friday is clear--that is DD's college graduation and it is outside. She brought home her cap and gown yesterday! Her HS graduation tradition is that the girls wear long white gowns and the boys wear dinner jacket (tux). It is always in the evening and held outside unless the weather is really awful. It is lovely. She has never worn a cap and gown before. At least it is a nice gown--mine was a cheap throwaway black gown :bcb_yuck: ; hers is dark green with the school crest on it and black velvet edging down the front. They have to give it back after, but can keep the cap and tassle. Kind of exciting!
DS got his housing straight and is ready to buy his plane ticket to attend a program at the London School of Economics this summer. He will be gone about a month. He and a HS friend are rooming together and can maybe go a little early to travel a little--maybe Scotland? He has been to London before, but not much elsewhere in the UK.
Barb--I agree--no gain is a positive!
Cammie--((hugs)) for DD. You go girl! :bcb_drill How is it that we can work so hard to lose it and it pops right back with one day off???:bcb_mad2
Nikki--enjoy a little clinginess. Now I can barely get them to kiss me goodnight. They have their sweet moments though :bcb_bigsm
Abbie--I'm pulling for 139.999! :kickbutt: Right now I'm looking for 189.999 for myself. You can do it soldier!!!
Sheila--maybe I should try the lemon water? At this point, anything might help!
Christen--be careful! Glad to hear it is paying off--just don't overdo!
OK, back to work!

Wow! Judy, 8 days is a VACATION!! I thought you would be gone over the weekend! Enjoy yourself! We will miss you! Great job on staying the same! Maintaining is always better than gaining.
Barb: I have seen that before too but never tried it! I am glad you found something you like!
Cammie: How is Core going for you so far? Don't worry about the gain. Nothing you can do about it now, but get back on track and you have done that! Great job!
Sheila: How's it going today? How did your walk go? If you really want a cardio workout that is really effective, try the cardio overdrive(full workout). It is amazing. I did it today and earned 5APs according to my HRM.
Abbie: I know you can still pull out a loss in the next two days. You always find yourself in this place every week and you rock on wi!! I know you can definitely see 139.9 this week! Work at it hard when you hit the gym on the cardio and burn up some calories!! I am soo excited about you being so close to goal!:bcb_up
Christen: I am going to definitely keep in mind that you are going to run tonight. I can think of it as a virtual date we have. Maybe that will inspire me to make sure I get my two miles done on the tread tonight. Good luck with your run tonight! See you at the gym(virtually!!LOL!LOL!)!!
Ellen: DS to London?! WOW!! I hope my kids will want to be involved in things like that as well. When are you set to move into the temporary house?

Just got word that our court date has been postponed until June 23rd. Even though I'd like things settled now it will be good in the long run. Gives us more time to prepare AND I should be able to make goal and then some by then!
Just got back from the gym, didn't do as much as I'd hoped too but I did a decent workout. Treadmill for 30 minutes and bike for 10. I even did a few minutes of running on the treadmill and the rest of the time I up'd my usual speed and incline so it was good. Will still plan on earning a few more AP's later tonight!

Good evening ladies,
You all were very chatty today. Sorry I missed out.
Christen - I use fresh lemons or lemon juice. Both work for me.
Barbara - That milkshake recipe sounds yummy! I have a whole container of whey protein so I may be trying it soon. Thanks for sharing.
Nikki - I forgot to tell you that I made those crescent apple pies on Sunday morning and they were a huge hit with my family. My dad asked my Mom to be sure to get the recipe from me so she can make them for him later.
Abbie - Glad you had a nice workout at the gym.
Cammie - Did you make it through the day on CORE? I'm sure you'll work off that gain by next weigh in.
Ellen - Enjoy the concert.
My 3 mile walk this morning was wonderful. After that I did errands and chores around the house. I am doing much needed cleaning and organizing now that my schedule allows me to have more time home. I spent hours cleaning and organizing my garage.
This evening I did the FIRMs Cardio Party. It was a great workout. My APs earned today was 6 YIPPIE!! I am also proud to say I have not been on the scale since last weeks W/I.

Sheila- 6 AP's is awesome! Also, glad you have more time to get those things done, I am sure you are enjoying the extra time!
