Yay, we have our own thread. HOW EXCITING!!! :bcb_up
Off to start another week. At least all my classes are done, although I didnt' do my portfolio like I planned this weekend...always too much going on. So I need to finish it today and tomorrow so I can drop it off and be done with it!
This week is MCAS testing at school. It's grueling! My 5th graders have Math, Science AND Social Studies! UGH!!!
Yesterday was a really great day. The brunch was excellent, I don't think I went too over board and I stopped when I was full. I can't really calculate 100% what the points were but I wrote what I ate and came up with like 24pts. DS had a soccer game in Lowell, MA which is about 1 1/2 hours away. It was a suspenseful game, it ended in a tie. I didn't eat again until dinner with DBF and his best friend from CA. It was a great time and it was so nice meeting him and his wife FINALLY after three years. They live in Los Angeles, so the times that he has come to the area to visit his parents haven't been very often or very convenient with my hectic schedule. It finally worked out. I had a margarita,(8pts) DBF and I shared the BBQ chicken pizza (10pts) and then I had a few buffalo bites (3pts) and 2 pieces of pizza skins (6pts) Needless to say I used up most of my waps, I only have 10 left for the week, but I'm going to try not to use them!
the scale moved back up to 205lbs this morning, I knew the 203.6 was too good to last with my eating out planned for yesterday. tonight i'm going to cardio kickboxing so hopefully that helps a little bit.
Nikki: Like you said, yesterday was a great day, but food was a bust for me too. I used 25 of my waps. YIKES! The scale WAS down but it's back to 205...I have to do some heavy duty exercise this week to make a difference now!
Have a great OP day everybody! XOXO

Good Morning Melissa,
Glad to see that you're feeling better. Hopefully, you'll kick off those extra pounds in your kickbox class tonight.
Have a great OP day!!

How cool! Our own space. It'll be much easier to keep up w/ personals now. The weekend was good for me. Lots of exercise (16AP all together) I'm switching back to flex this week which has me planning like crazy and working out so I can "afford" all my healthy 8's.
DH's truck broke down Friday...we just go it out of the shop Thursday at $1400...so I'm a bit miffed about the situation. I'll find out what it's going to cost us *this time* today. Totally unrelated to the things we just fixed though.
I found my next 5k for June and they have Tie Died t-shirts. I'm super excited about that. Again my goal will be to just run through the whole thing. I'm going to train harder this month than I did for the last one. It should be easier now that DH is on board. We have an easy 2-3 miles tonight and then off to the gym for lifting.
Melissa : Congrats on the loss!! Have fun at kickboxing!

I found us!!! How cool to have our own forum.:bcb_happy
Yesterday was a busy one. My two grandgirls and their best friend were confirmed at church and then we had a cookout party for them in the evening. It was sooooo cold, blustery and rainy but all had a good time anyway.
Now to get back to normal. I leave for a weeks retreat on Wednesday so I have lots to do to get ready.
Hope you all have a great week!!!!!:bcbkickbu

Morning everyone!! Gotta a lot of things to get done today, but I WILL get them done.
I had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend, but foodwise it was a bust. So today through Thursday will be Core for me. Bread has been causing me some trouble so I need a little recovery. I am adding a little extra cardio to the end of each day to do a little more damage control too!
Melissa: Good luck during testing for your students! I know you will be down by your next wi! Just work hard this week as you normally do and you will be fine! I, on the other hand will be trying to break even. If I could just get past 165!!!!
Judy: A retreat sounds exactly like what I need right now!! I hope you have a great time!
Christen: I know the feeling of car troubles one after another ...after another! I hope you can come out cheaper than the 1400 bucks this time! It looks like you and I have switched places this week. I am giving Core a try to get my bread cravings under control!
Sheila: Glad you had a great weekend with your sister!! No, let me rephrase that...I am glad you had a great OP weekend with your sister! Friday will bring great rewards on the scale for you, I'm sure!
Everyone else, have a wonderful day!

Found it--but confused...what are we supposed to do with the May 2008 thread? I'm happy to see this, but don't quite get where I'm supposed to be???
Exhausting weekend--had 15 for dinner last night with DD's college friends--graduation is Thursday and Friday. Can't believe she is graduating from college...You probably won't see much of me with all these activities + moving in 2 weeks. Yikes! Makes me have stomach ache thinking of it.

Morning all! After a week of struggling (and seeing my weight go up as much as 2lbs) I am back in full force. I am going to be concentrating on my healthy 8's again because I think that is where i really got off track. Also, there were a few days where I feel very short on my points, mainly because I wasn't feeling so great and just wasn't hungry, but I noticed the second day of low pts my weight jumped up about 1.5 lbs. AND I am headed out after this to the gym so I can get back to working out hard!
Ellen- I think because this is mid month it is confusing you. June goals we will make a new thread here and then update how our goals are going on that thread, but all of our daily chat will be on a daily thread.....unless we don't like that idea? We can now make as many threads as we like each month and have them all grouped in this section so one thread doesn't get too long that we can't keep up.
Nikki and Barb- I am with you both on regrouping this week! We can do this!!!
Quiltin- how nice, sounds like you had a great day!
Christen- I think personals will be easier too....it had gotten to the point that if you missed a day or two you were lost and didn't know where to jump in!
Melissa- That isn''t up much and you have several days to WI, you will get it back off and then some!

Where are all of our buddies?
My day is going really well. I have a great focus right now and just hope that I can maintain it. I am about to finish lunch and get the kids down for their nap, then I can workout! I have Jillian, Jari and the elliptical on tap for today, so that's about 9APs! It's alot but I really NEED to do it because of the weekend.
Well, I hope everyone finds their way here and has a great day!

Nikki, glad you doing well today! Just got back from the gym and lunch... 30 minutes on the treadmill and about 30 minutes of strength training with the machines. I am already feeling it a little in my arms!
Went to the grocery and got a few different things. Had a blackbean burger for lunch (1 pt) with spinach nuggets (these were just okay probably wont get them again, 3 pts)
Also I am looking forward to trying out raspberries tonight, will let you all know what I think!

GaPeach : Good job on the workout. Have you never had raspberries before?
Nikki : Way to focus. Have fun w/ all those AP's.
So I got the quote back to fix the truck $267 + $90 tow. So not too bad....BUT there's another $405 repair we need to take care of within the next month or our tire will fall off :bcb_mad2 I think we're going to get the immediate repair done and call around on the second one b/c I'm a little upset they didn't catch this problem when we had it in there last week. It could have been a BIG deal if DH was traveling down the interstate instead of at 30mph and we asked them to check the whole thing over when it was in there the first time and make it road trip ready, they assured us it was. I'm also hoping my dad can come fix the second problem and save us some $$ :bcb_bigsm

Christen- I am sure I have had them before though I never remember having fresh ones. I went ahead and had them mixed with blackberries for my afternoon snack and they were awesome with a little equal sprinkled on them!
I realized one of the problems I was having was that my daily pts were all going towards my 3 daily meals over the past 2 weeks or so. In the past I had smaller meals and lots of snacks throughout the day, so I am trying to get back to eatting that way as I feel it helped me be successfull.

I'm SUCH a grazer. I HAVE to have my snacks. I need to find some better low pt meals though b/c 7-8 for lunch and dinner is killing my points target, still using meals from before I went on Core and had 2 extra points every day. Thank goodness for 0pt carrots and AP's!!
...speaking of AP's, do you guys eat all yours? I'm finding I have to to get all my healthy 8's in and it's really worrying me. Given, I could cut the 2pt fiber one bar I'm going to eat on the way home, but I need to eat something pre-run or I run out of steam or I need to have dinner first (which never turns out well). But I only dipped 2.5 into my weekly flex pool so far (this is day 3 of my week), but I ate all of my AP's over the weekend (16) and have all of them planned for today (7) so it worries me since my AP's are going to exceed my weekly flex points which I don't think has ever happenend before.

I posted initially on the other thread. I see most of us have moved here which is great. I love this site and have to just pinch myself that we are big enough to have our own place. Home. :bcb_bigsm
I didn't do well over the weekend. Not bad quantity-wise but bad quality-wise. Too many whites. I started to continue on that path today because of a bump in the road and from being lazy. NO MORE I say! I went on the daily menu thread and posted my plan for the rest of today AND tomorrow. I'm back to core like you Nikki. It really helps me with carb control!
Christen - So sorry about your car. Our budget had been feeling tighter and tighter and I would be so frustrated if that happened to us right now! Thanks for the reminder about raspberries. There are so many yummy, good for us foods we can choose from!! That run sounds really fun. It makes such a difference to be "training" for something!
Abbie - Way to regroup. You seem to know what works for you so run with it!
Nikki - I like your plan for damage control. I upped my exercise too but not as much as you have. You go girl! I'm doing core this week too. I'm so glad you are as well. I need to look through the breakfast recipes. That first meal makes such a difference for me!
Ellen - ****{Hugs}}} Hang in there. Keep your health and your sanity and come back as soon as you can!!
Barb - Here's your kick :bcb_kick: from me. This place is going to be great for journalling! Jump right in and just do it!
Judy - So, you get just a couple of days of normal? :bcb_grin Make a plan for your travels! Makes such a difference for me.
Melissa - You and I are soooooo close in wt right now. I was 203 last week but am sad to say, I probably had a gain after the last few days. I'm glad you had a fun weekend. I always figured MCAs would be easy days for the teachers. It's so interesting to hear things from your perspective on occasion!
Sheila - How's it going?
Hi everyone else!

good evening ladies,
Just wanted to check in quick before Kickboxing and then I'll check in again tonight. My day went very well. Finally not sick anymore and feeling good. Brittany (my only female student) drove me absolutely bonkers today. The entire afternoon she must have walked out of class about 5 times, chasing her around the school. I was so happy when it was 3:30pm. DISMISSAL!!!!
DS went to an indoor skate park with his friend tonight so I don't have to do any running around today. I can go to cardio kickboxing and just come home and work on my portfolio.
Today all I did was eat the same thing all day. At least it is lean protein and vegetables...i'm addicted to the empenadas. I had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner again! LOL. I got in all my healthy 8's despite all the food being the same! LOL
Sheila: Hey girl. Hope you had a great day today! XOXO
Christen: Wow, 16aps over the weekend...AWESOME!!! Tie die shirts for your 5k in June sounds fun! Bummer that DH's truck broke down, there's always something that costs money, isn't there? UGH!!! That's good that dad can help save you some money!
Quiltin: Sounds like you had a good time this week. Sorry the weather didn't cooperate, I hate when that happens!
Barbara: ((((skinny vibes)))) for weigh in tomorrow. :bcb_kick: Here's your kick....start journaling girl!!!
Nikki: You are a trooper, you can do it and you will break that 165lbs. BELIEVE IT AND YOU WILL DO IT!! Great job planning on getting in that extra cardio! YOu're on your way!! :bcb_up
Well I have to change and walk over to the Kung Fu academy. Be back later. XOXO Keep up the great work today NIkki....i'm glad you're having a good day!
Ellen: I think most of our posting will occur here on the daily threads. We will probably keep that May 2008 goals challenge to talk about our monthly goals and then create a new goals challenge over here for June. Or we can just scratch our May 2008 goals challenge thread and post our goals over here, so it's all together, instead of waiting, so it's not so confusing.?
Abbie: Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to work hard this week. I'm glad you're going to focus on those healthy 8's since you were my motivation to get those in myself! Eating six times a day has always been very helpful for me. I like to eat something small every 2-3 hours. So I think that will be helpful for you too, especially since you used to eat that way.
Cammie: That is so cool that we are so close with our weight. We will reach Onederland together girl! And then keep on going and reach our goals. MCAS is supposed to be a bit easier time for teachers, but not when you have my students. They have all kinds of accommodations for their IEP's, frequent breaks and they tend to have some melt downs when they are stressed with tests. It's not always pretty! LOL But at least we get a break from planning lessons and actually teaching. :bcb_bigsm
Okay, i'm off to my kickboxing class. I'll be back later. XOXO

Hello ladies,
Nikki & Barbara how was your day? Hopefully you were you able to stick to your plans.
WOW Ellen 15 for dinner. I'm glad it turned out good for you.
Cammie - I'm doing good. I've just been so busy since I left the 9-5. I'm working with an investor client and it's so much work locating the right properties. I'm not complaining though because it beats the 9-5 thing. I can't wait 'til I get back down to 203!
Christen - I haven't been eating my APs lately but if I need them I'll use them.
Abbie - Great job on being back in full force!
I've got to get back in the swing of preparing my meals at home now so that I can get in my healthy 8s. I've been used to having the cafeteria at work. Now that I'm on my own I have to plan and cook more. I also need to work at getting in my waters. It was easy to do at work but it will be a challenge now since I will be out and about most of the time.
I will check back later. I'm about to go to Stone Mtn for my walk.

Just wanted to let you all know about my new find today. Amy's tamale pie. 2 pts for the entire thing and it makes a good start to a meal. Add a salad or some veggies and you are good to go! To me it tasted more like a spicy bean or chili dish with a LIGHT cornbread type topping. I used a bit of FF sourcream with it and some salsa and I really enjoyed it....and at 2 pts I think I will definitely get it again.
For those who haven't found the Amy's meals yet, in my store they are with the organic/frozen section. They are kind of pricey, but as my WW leader says " I am worth it":bcb_grin.

Glad to find everyone over here! Another so-so day for me. I pray that the scale is at least a little down on Wednesday. We had leftovers for dinner--not so bad! DD said her friends had a really good time and enjoyed all the food. Homemade tastes pretty good when you're used to school/fast food. I think they are all a little melancholy about graduating and not seeing each other regularly. They are all going other places...
Melissa--glad to hear you're back in the groove!
Christen--sorry about the truck--that is so maddening! We are selling our cute lttle convertible because a) DD is leaving town and won't need a car and b) it has become a money pit! I guess you can relate to the latter?
Judy--sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day
Barb--here it is :bcb_kick:, but I think it sounds like you and I are in similar straits. I need to get back to journaling and planning too.
Abbie--sounds like many of us need to get back to basics after this weekend. I saw your thread and plan to visit!
Nikki--you always get back quickly. WTG!
Cammie--Let's pledge to do great this week...
Abbie & Sheila--Hi there...you didn't blow away, did you???
Anna--where are you today?
Gee, my legs and feet hurt so bad last night after cooking all day--it was a relief to sit at my computer at work today! PT says I'm getting better, but to get full range of motion, he suggests calling the doctor for a cortisone shot--ACK! I'm such a wuss when it comes to that!
Thinking of getting DD a new computer for a graduation present as her current one is old and keeps breaking down...lanned obsilesence...sigh
Desperately trying to get in the groove again...
