NBC serves up 'Loser' special
New season debuts Sept. 11 at 8 p.m.
By MICHAEL SCHNEIDER (http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=bio&peopleID=1496)
For his first scheduling announcement at NBC, Ben Silverman didn't have to look far.
The new NBC Entertainment/NBC Universal TV Studio co-chairman announced Monday that unscripted entry "The Biggest Loser" will return on Sept. 4 with a "Where Are They Now" special edition.
Peacock will then premiere the new season of "Loser" on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. with a two-hour bow. ("Loser" will air another two-hour seg the following week, before settling into its regular hourlong Tuesday slot.)
"This is an innovative way to re-introduce an audience favorite and answer the question everyone asks -- 'Did they keep the weight off?' " Silverman said.
"Biggest Loser" comes from Silverman's Reveille shingle, making for the unusual prospect of him announcing a show for which he is an executive producer. New season of "Biggest Loser" includes a new host, Alison Sweeney, and the return of former "Biggest Loser" trainer Jillian Michaels -- whose new role on the show has been kept a secret. The "Where Are They Now" special will revisit contestants who have kept the weight off as well as those who put the pounds back on.

Quincy - thanks for those links.
One thing I always wondered - what happened to Marty's wife? When they had the cruise ship challenge, his wife was there. Then towards the end when he was eliminated, it showed him going back to his high school, not his wife...

I guess he divorced her. I didn't read his full interview yet but I did read Amy's and she said they are definitely living together.
I also just read that Jillian will be back as a trainer and so there will be 3 trainers so I guess that means three teams. I wonder if that means more contestants??

Ok - that's weird, because I heard somewhere that Suzy was home recovering from a full body lift. :bcb_confu Can't remember if it was on the internet or somewhere else...or maybe someone else...

I didn't read that, but I read that Erik (http://biggest-loser1.blogspot.com/) had a lower body lift
Erik underwent a lower body lift procedure, where excess skin in his abdomen, back and waist was surgically trimmed and tightened. He had originally planned on having a tummy tuck, but the surgeon explained that if he merely had that done, the excess skin on his sides and back would still be there -- and even be accentuated. But with the body lift, Erik was able to get rid of all of it, which he says left him "thrilled"

Yes - I did hear about Erik's procedure. 10 pounds of skin were removed and I believe donated to a skin bank.
So did anyone else hear/read that Suzy had one and was acting at Matt's personal trainer while she recovered? Might have been one of those "Biggest Loser Newsletter" blurbs...which are outdated anyway, because they just sent out out the other day about how Season 1 winner Ryan Benson was keeing the weight off!!

I love the show. It's sooo motivating. I like to exercise while I watch it. Makes me feel like I'm sweating it out with them. :bcb_grin
