Well it appears that Paris Hilton's "fame" is bringing her the special considerations her celebrity deserves. I've heard elsewhere that "most" people would never have been sentenced to a 45-day sentence for the type of offense she had. However, IMHO, I feel that she should have served the sentence she got.

I think she deserves it. I think most people would get in trouble if they had been caught so many times driving on a suspended license. Part of me (a very small part) feels sorry for her, because what is already a humiliating experience is made that much worse by being posted EVERYWHERE. But that comes with the fame.

What they are not telling you now, even though they said it on CNN when the story broke, is that the night Paris was released, she was notified that the Judge wanted her to appear in court the next day. Paris REFUSED to go to the courtroom, and said she would just "phone in" instead. That really irritated the judge, and he sent police to her house to get her. She had to be dragged into the car to go to court. That's why she looked the way she did, no makeup, etc. Talk about a spoiled brat! She drove drunk, and violated her probation THREE times! In PA, that's jail time. The only way she is being treated unfairly is that the story is splashed all over the news. But, that never bothered her before, did it? Celebrity or not, taking all things into consideration, I think she deserved what she got. No, it wasn't her fault that the sheriff released her early, and I think maybe, if she just went to court like she wsa supposed to, the judge would have just let her serve the rest of her 23 days. But since she didn't show up, he gave her the full sentence.

P.S. And that medical condition? I heard it was that she wasn't eating the "nasty" jail food and she was constipated because she refused to use the toilet in her cell.

Constipation does hurt. bcb_sad

My kids don't like consequences. I don't like consequences. Being rich, being a celebrity, being spoiled--maybe she hasn't had to face too many of them. It's quite a shock when you're not used to it.

Oh gosh - I can't believe I am weighing in on my feelings about Paris Hilton LOL

Anyway, I am fairly certain I heard her say in an interview after the MTV awards and right before she went to jail the first time, that she could have chosen which jail to go to, but she chose NOT to go to a "pay jail" (which I assume means she would have had to pay the extra expense for the added ammenities, etc) because she wanted the public to know that she was taking her punishment seriously. She went on to say that she was looking forward to spending the time alone and would be reading and really thinking about the direction of her life.

I think I saw that on ET or The Insider - something that comes on after the news and before Friends on late night TV LOL Anyone else see that or am I imagining things?

Yes, I read this somewhere. But, then I read some comments saying this was probably false, if she'd had the option for a "pay jail" she would have jumped at it. The statement, if it was actually made, was just something to make her look better.

Is anyone believing any of the stuff she's saying now? Like how's she changed, she's not going to use the "dumb act" any more???? Give me a break. :bcb_yuck:
