Hi everybody!
Does anyone have any good snack ideas that are low points, filling and easy? I am a teacher, which takes a lot of energy. Usually in the morning I have an english muffin with jelly at about 6am. By morning break--10am--my stomach is practically eating itself, I'm so hungry. I eat a banana, but then by lunch 11:30, same thing-I'm so hungry! THe last few posts have talked about how the first few weeks are hard to get adjusted and lots of people are hungry for a few weeks. I like to save most of my points for dinner.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi....
I'm a teacher, too, so I know what you're talking about. What I've been doing is keeping a couple of quick snack things handy: baby carrots and celery sticks with salsa/those Breakstone 4 packs of cottage cheese/7 reduced fat triscuits with a wedge of light Laughing Cow.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
I also am hungry alot....but I find this a good thing. I think before I never really was hungry. I guess I ate so much whenever I wanted that I never really felt REAL hunger. Do you know what I mean?
Anyway... I love lots of snack ideas. I buy WW yogert for 1 pt. and mix in some Fiber ONe cereal-very filling. I always eat fruits for snacks(my way to get them in). I like veggies w/ff dips (guacemole, hummus ect..) or low fat.
I love 94% pop corn mixed with cinn. and powdered sugar... cold green beans marinated with lemon and dill...delish.
Lots and I mean lots of water also. Good Luck!

You don't mention how many points you get a day.......that makes a difference on the choice of snacks....and amounts.....
I too like to save a larger portion of my points for dinner as well......so I usually adjust accordingly......but I am not a snacker, never have been.....
They yogurt cereal idea is a good one because the yogurt coats your stomach and cereal gives it some bulk....plus you'll be getting in a dairy and fiber....I eat that one for breakfast at times.....and it holds me over well....
Happy snacking!

Hi there! I am a big snack eater, I depend on them for survival so I always need to have one handy.
FF popcorn is very good , filling and only 1 pt for most. ( the whole bag!) Not sure if that is very easy though for you in class.
FAT FREE pudding -2 pts
100 calorie packs , so many to choose from and only 2 pts
carrot sticks -0
you can find beef jerkey that is low pts..
i buy a big bag of ruffles cheddar baked chips and 20 big chips are 4 pts
lil debbies rice krispy treats are only 2 pts
smart choice muffins 2 pts for 2 ;) one of my favs
granola bars, most are 2 pts
laughing cow cheese , a big fav around here, one triangle is only 1 pt
i eat with 2 pieces of sara lee low calorie toast and its only 2 pts ;) and a quick filler.
another cool thing to make is, if you take a graham cracker the long piece, take 2 of those..put ff whipped cream between them and freeze it over night the whole thing is usually 2 pts. I say usually cause i think it may depend on the crackers you get ..but it taste like an icecream sandwich ;)
I hope these help , need any more or meal ideas feel free to message me!

I am a teacher too, so I have tried to find quick snacks to keep in my desk drawer and eat fairly quickly. Bars seem to work best for me, filling, quick and pretty healthy. I lke Kashi peanut butter or roasted almond and any of the Pria 100 calorie bars. These are all about 2 points and get me through a few classes easily. I also always have a quart bottle of water on my desk and I try to drink one in the morning and one after lunch ( I am lucky enough to have a bathroom right across the hall!)
Hope this helps, stick with it and own the hunger like a badge of pride. Before WW I NEVER felt hunger:bcb_grin

Hi,
I think you are not eating enough actually. I know that must sound strange but a banana, and an English muffin with jelly from 6 a.m. to noon is not much food.
What about adding some protein in the morning to hold you longer? Also a glass of milk to get in one of you dairy servings. Add some cottage cheese to your English Muffin, or a slice of real cheese or an egg or hard boiled egg.
My favourite multiserving breakfast - the night before put chopped up apple or any fruit you like, add 1/3 cup uncooked oatmeal and 1 cup ff yogurt, some cinnamon and stir all together, Let sit in the fridge overnight and sweeten the next morning as you like (some use Splenda - I now prefer this as is with no sweetener).
A fruit, dairy and whole grain serving all in one big bowl of food for 5 points (2 for yogurt, 2 for oatmeal and 1 for fruit).
Some people even stir in a tsp of healthy oil for the added point and get in one of those servings as well. This in fact may make enough for two mini meals for you if you are used to eating only an English muffin for breakfast.
If you are on Core none of that breakfast is counted against your daily Weekly points allowance as all the foods are Core and "free" :bcb_bigsm

If I am under my points for the day should I just keep snacking until I am up to my limit or is it okay to be under??

Keep on snacking! Healthily, of course...:bcb_grin
You want to make sure that you're at least eating enough, and then if you eat some extra (as in flex and APs), it just speeds up your metabolism.

I am a teacher too. I am sooo hungry by 10:00AM. I have found that I MUST have protein at that time or I feel sick. I usually eat a small serving of cheese (Laughing Cow is great), peanut butter, turkey slices or almonds. That snack holds me over until lunch at around 12:30. If I don't have a protein snack, I feel famished by lunch and end up overeating. I usually eat oatmeal or cereal with a fruit for breakfast.
Good luck!!!

For me personally, I find that higher protein snacks keep my full longer and don't spike my blood sugar so I don't get hungry again as quickly. Some of the snacks that work for me are a hard boiled egg, string cheese, lean ham or turkey wrapped in a large lettuce leaf, celery with cream cheese or laughing cow. Sometimes Tricuits with cheese cubes.
