Goodmorning all! Thought I'd get it started today and make it until monday seeing as it's a holiday monday. Just when you think you're getting better this cold comes around full force and kicks you in the behind! No worries abouting eating too much today, my lips are hurting too much to eat! I'll post this before there's another one started!

I have no idea what I am going ot eat today. I did manage to get down 2 slices of toast. My DS at the ripe old age of 3 says to me this morning "mommy, me just not feeling well *SIGH* me sick AGAIN!" God luv'em. So it's meds and resting on the couch for us today. Errands will have to wait, fridge and cupboards are full, anything else can wait until we're better. I was real good with the water yesterday, got down 64 oz which is about 2 L and a lot for me lately. I'll have to try and top that today, helps in getting rid of a cold I'm sure. Hope you all have a good start to the holiday weekend!

Lori, sounds like an icky way to start the weekend.

My work weekend has started, Motto being "If the weekend has started it will be over in 2 days".

Got a huge bag packed up of food for the next 2 days. Nothing exciting, just the usual bunch of 1 and 2 pt stuff, so I can munch my way through the day.

I am sure the board will be slow for the next few days, but I will faithfully check in every few hours.

Hi Lori-Sorry you and your baby boy are sick. Boo hiss!!! Rest, watch cartoons, and feel better soon!

Jo-Hope your day is, well, you know. You will be interested to know that I broke out the new yoga pants and actually did 50 minutes of yoga this am. Yay, me!! I am going to finish a book I started before DS and DH get home, about 12. Then it is off to Trader Joe's or Wild Oats for some vegetarian recipe shopping, thanks to Tonia.

I am hungry, so I am off to the kitchen to make some lucious chicken concoction for lunch. :bcb_march

wow it is slow here today. I almost ordred in food! With the excuse that I'm sick and have no energy to cook, but thought better of it. I ended up with a tuna sandwich and a pear for lunch instead. I'm having trouble with the water today though. But I'll get it in somehow. I'm up a little from the last WI of 148 but I'm determined to get it off in a couple of weeks at most. I think I will, I have some of it off already. Doesn't take long for it to go on that's for sure. LOL, I just realized that when I started the thread I made is 12/1 instead of 1/1! Oh well ,I'm sure you all know what it's suppose to be! No elliptical for me today, I don't think I'd have the energy to tie my shoe laces! I'm off again, hope you're all staying OP.

I had said that I was going to post what I'm eating, might as well start now to keep my self accountable!

brkfst 2 WW toast with small amount nutella (2 pts)
snack 1/2 c grapes ( 1/2 pt)
lunch tuna sandwich used regular bread (5 pts)
pear (1 pt)
dinner undecided maybe moose and potato have to calculate the moose pts.

Oh Tonia, how scary! That is the main reason I don't like living in the south! I am so scared of Tornados. Earthquakes don't faze me, just be still and they will be gone. You can tell I still consider myself a California girl!

Lori, so sorry you and the little one are sick today! Chicken soup?

Jo, One more day after today, then you are off for 5 days! How neat is that!

Mo, I wanted to go shopping, but will do it another day. Don't really need anything until I get off about 10 pounds or so. Then we will see.

I started feeling bad yesterday, and by the middle of the afternoon, I went to bed. So icky! Took Claritin and helped some, since I don't have any of Lara's airborne. Chicken soup for me today, for sure!

The rain has dwindled to a heavy mist, we are about to float away! Don't know how much we had, but there is still more to come. I know I can't stay on here long, but wanted to check in.

Hello everyone. Sure is slow here so far this weekend. To be expected I suppose. I am SO glad this is the end of the holiday's for 2006. I love having time off, but I'm tired of the holiday crowds everywhere I go!

Lori - sorry you aren't feeling well today. Get lots of rest and you'll be up and running in no time!

Jo - I hope you aren't working too hard. I would think a slow weekend at the hospital would be a good thing since it would mean people aren't hurting themselves! :)

Mo - great job on the yoga! I hope you gets lots of yummy stuff for your vegetarian recipes!

Esther - yes, that was a scary storm. They usual don't phase me but that was a doozy! Keep looking for the Airbourne, it's good stuff.

OK, DH bought a surround sound system with all his Best Buy gift cards. Guess I should go supervise . . . I mean help. :D Have a great night everyone!

Good morning everyone. I am up and going to try to go to church. Sounds like I have a band made entirely of drums playing in my ear, but maybe they will be quite in a bit.

Tonia, how did your trip to the gym go? Just do "quite" exercises or did you get bold and work hard?

I will get off and see about breakfast. Probably a couple of clemintines and a v8. That should be enough til lunch.

Morning all! I feel a little better this morning, and so does my DS. Although I said that 2 mornings ago too bcb_sad . This cold better be going away this time! I'm getting tired of staying in the house, we haven't been outside since wednesday afternoon and now it's sunday! I'll definitely make it to the elliptical machine some time today. Maybe later after I've eaten more and have some energy. I havent' posted my weight since the 13th because it went up to 155 from the 148! In less than 2 weeks! But that was a lot of "holiday" eating. It's down to 151 again this morning. I done my holiday eating early! And now it's time to pay the piper and get it back down. Hope that band in your ear stops playing Esther.... or at least plays more quietly! My dog is gone crazy this morning, I swear he was trying to tap dance earlier! He was jumping around the kitchen like something on a hot tin roof! I'm off again, have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Buddies,

We made it through the storm just fine. We only got 6 inches of snow. The weatherman was telling us we were suppose to get a couple of FEET. I wonder how Lara is making out. Sounds like Tonia and Esther are getting all our moisture. The farmer/ranchers were actually happy about the 2 feet of snow. We REALLY need snow this winter to fill the dams back up.

I spent the day yesterday putting away the Christmas decor. I also did lots of cooking. Carson was in heaven. I tell you that boy can put the food away. He is really trying to eat alot of protein because he wants to BULK up. I don't need protein to bulk up!!!! He must be talking about a different kind of bulking (is that a word) then what I have been doing lately.

My plans for the day is to finish cleaning the house and get my craft/office cleaned. It took a dirty one over the holidays. I also plan on working out a new plan for the year of 2007. I have not been a very good girl lately and I can tell. I am going to do some reading and plan a menu and exercise schedule.

Yesterday, Denny, Sawyer, and I did go for a walk. I sure wish I had Sawyer's energy. He loves the snow.

Jo ~ What did you put in your bag. I am looking for new things to eat. I think a person gets burned out eating the same old thing. I am searching for new recipes and foods today. I hope you have a quite weekend.

Tonia ~ I saw your weather the other day and was thinking of you. Do you start back to work on Tuesday??? Do you have your Christmas decorations put away??

Lori ~ Sounds like you have the same cold that I have. Everyone around here who has had it says that it lasts at least a month. You think you are getting better then it comes right back at you. This cold is what has thrown me way off program. I just feel like drinking OJ all the time. Hang in there.

Esther ~ How is Gerry feeling these days? What are your plans for the today?

Mo ~ I have never done Yoga. I should put that on my list of things to do for the year of 2007. We need to see some new pictures of that sweet grandson of yours.

Mornin' ya'll! Thought I'd give you guys a proper Texas greeting this morning. HA!

It is finally a little chilly today. Our high is gonna be 52, so not cold but at least it's finally going in the right direction. I guess today will be the day that we take all the Christmas decorations down and get things back to normal. I have a lot of cleaning to do too. Yippee! bcb_sad

Esther - I didn't go to the gym yesterday. DH and I had so much to do that the day got away from me. I'm about to get ready and head to the gym this morning though. I've been lazy long enough!

Lori - glad you are feeling a bit better today. Tale it easy on the elliptical today if you're still sick. Maybe a nice walk outside so you can get some fresh air would make you feel better? I know getting out after a few days sure helped me. Of course it's Texas and it's not cold and windy.

Jules - no, I don't have my Christmas stuff down. It HAS to come down today. I'm tired of looking at it! I too plan on spending some time writing down a new plan, looking up some new recipes, etc. Trainer Jo left on December 25 for Kenya (where she is from) and won't be back until January 22. She gave me workouts to do while she was gone and gave me a 5 pound weight loss goal while she is gone. Needless to say I gotta get busy!

Well, time to get busy. I hope you all have exciting plans for New Year's Eve tonight. I don't, but I'm OK with that this year! I'm looking forward to a quiet night at home with DH. If you're going out, be careful!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Just had an idea that I'd like to share.......... how about a recipe box where you have your recipes organized by point value..... I think this is something that I'm going to try. Then to organize further, you could color code the index cards (make them from regular card stock) blue for fish recipe, red for meat, green for all veg, yellow for pasta, white for chicken.... (yup I'm a nerd!) :bcb_grin Perhaps it would work, perhaps not. BUt I'm always finding myself saying now what can I eat?I have # points to use?

Who's up for a january exercise challenge? Say however many minutes for the month? I'm going to say 1200 minutes for the month!
Geeze whoever thought that seeing a little loss on the scale would get me so inspired?

TexasT

I was just looking at the weight watchers websites, I often look at the .ca and the .com to see which recipes are being showcased (you don't have to be a member to see these). I watched the After videos that are on weightwatchers.com and heard something said that I know I've read on here somewhere long ago, but forgot it and the importance of it.

http://www.weightwatchers.com/templates/marketing/Landing_1col_nonav.aspx?PageId=1039751
In the video on Erika, she says that she lerned what it felt like to feel hungry and not just bored....
I know this applies to me, and maybe some more of you as well. The videos are interesting and have some key points for us all!

Well hello all! I fell into the Mexican restaurant last night, again. What a trap! (I love it though!) I will have snacks tonight at our NYE party, and then get after it beginning tomorrow. My goal is to get all the holiday wt. off (3 or so lbs.) before I go back to school on 1-8.

Esther-I hope that band quieted down.

Jules and Lori-sounds like you two are feeling better! Good news!!!

Tonia-I will let you know how some of the recipes are. DH leaves for CT this week, so it is DS and me at home. DS is very cautious when trying new foods.

We just got the house cleaned for our guests tonight. It looks and smells so nice!! We are having two couples from church, and a single guy from church. We normally have a good time with them. (One couple is our minister and his wife!)

I won't be on again until tomorrow. So, blessings for a safe and happy new year. I treasure all of you! Prospero Ano Nuevo. (I can't do accents and ~ over the n's at home. BLAST!)

Well, I got my Christmas decorations down and the house cleaned up. I feel much better now. DH and I will have to take the lights off the house tomorrow but that won't take more than 30 minutes or so. The house looks so much better without all that Christmas stuff hanging around. I was tired of looking at it!

Lori - Thanks for the link. I think I eat from time to time because I'm bored rather than hungry too. I'm trying to re-train myself to drink water when I feel that way.

Mo - I tried one of the recipes from Veg Times tonight. It was the "Oven Crisp Black Bean & Corn Flautas". Very good. It makes a lot so I'm going to try freezing a few of them for later.

Well, I think DH and I are going to settle in with a couple of NYE drinks and a couple of games. Talk to you ladies tomorrow!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year everyone! Our's friends got the best start ever to a new year.. their 8 month old baby girl got a liver transplant through last night that they've been waiting for since september! Becasue she needed the vein going into her liver as well, a live donor was not an option. The transplant went "better than text book" but of course we are all waiting for the 48 hour period after transplant to pass, this of course is the critical time. Have a great day everyone!

Happy New Year Buddies,

I did get the house all cleaned yesterday and then made 5 homemade pizza's, bread sticks, brownies with homemade ice cream for 12 teenagers. Karlee and some of her friends ate and then went to an a friends house to play games and watch moives all night. Carson had several boys over and they played poker all night. Denny and I stayed home and brought in the New Year's.Karlee just walked in the door and the basement is full of boys that spent the night. So, I guess we all made it through another New Year's.

Plans for the day is to finish cleaning the craft/office and finish making plans for a healthier new year.

Lori ~ Love the idea of card for recipes with points.

Tonia ~ That was a great article.

Jo ~ How was work last night?

Mo ~ How did your night go? Did you guys play games??

Hello all! I'm having a great lazy day. I went to Barnes & Noble this morning and bought a few things including the book "Skinny B*tch". It is great. Very blunt and not for the easily offended, but has lots of great info. I posted a link earlier this weekend about the book. Check it out if you get the chance.

I have a great plan for myself this year and I'm very excited about it all. This is the year I will turn it all around for the better. Of course DH and I have plans and resolutions but these are just for me. Here's my Top 10 List!

1. Accept the new job I have been offered. This will be a more fulfilling job and will cut my travel down significantly.

2. Practice yoga and meditation daily in the morning before my day begins. I used to do this and I was a more calm, centered person. I miss her.

3. I made the decision a few months ago to return to my vegetarian diet which I have done with the exception of seafood. I plan to remove seafood from my diet as well but will do so over the course of the next 3 months.

4. Remove refined sugar and carbs from my diet.

5. Continue to workout 5-6 days per week at the gym; 2 of those with Trainer Jo until I meet my fitness goals.

6. Learn to go with the flow and stop planning every moment of every day.

7. Spend more time with family and friends and less time in front of the TV. Real life is MUCH more interesting. :)

8. Stop taking my DH for granted. It's very easy to do when you get too caught up in your own life.

9. Buy a new pair of shoes each month. (OK, I needed one really materialistic thing on my list ladies!)

10. Feel good about myself no matter what the number is on the scale.

OK, on to personals . . .

Lori - I hope your friends baby is doing well today. It must have been a relief to get the transplant. Please let us know how the next 48 hours go.

Jo - How was your weekend at work? DH and I had a great night. We played cards and Trival Pursuit and watched the ball drop. We had some champagne at midnight then I was off to bed shortly afterwards. I just can't stay up that late anymore!

Nancy - sounds like you are off to a good year! I've done a lot of planning and thinking and know that this is going to be a great year!

Jennifer - good for you making the decision to quit smoking. I've been there and done that. It's a hard habit to give up, but you just have to. It's so bad for our bodies. Good luck!

Karen - good to see you here today! Good job planning your day!

Alissa - awesome goal! You sound very upbeat and excited so I have no doubt you will do it! Can't wait to see your plan.

Jules - sounds like you and your family had a great NYE! How's the cleaning spree going? I got the Christmas down and feel much better about it now. What's your plan for 2007?

hey guys!!! Hope you all had a great Christmas! Happy New Year!!! Hope you had a safe happy holiday! We spent last night at home w/ my husband and brother and sister in law. I went to the grocery store and got all the things to begin ww again. I

start back to work tomorrow and plan on getting 100% on track! I'm so excited to feel like I'm going to have structure again. I will wi in the morning and that will be my starting weight. I'm petrified to be on the scales but I'm excited that I will get this weight off, I know I can, just will have to work at it! I have missed you guys more than you could ever know.

Hello Christy it is wonderful to have you back with us. You know we will help you get those depressed pounds off. We have missed you.

Tonia sounds like you had a nice night last night. Good goals.

Alissa, Looking forward to seeing your plan

Karen, hope you are back on plan today.

Nancy, did you have a nice visit with your family? Is everyone gone now? Did you start your painting yet?

Now as for my day/weekend..........Work was a killer, today is Monday so I just did the basic minimum, Mondays seem to have become my veg out day.
Got all the Christmas Gifts put away. Did a bit of sewing today.
DH has been home, so I don't get every thing done that I want to when he is here. Tomorrow he is off so I am sure we will do something.
It has been raining all day and it is cold and dreary, So with fuzzy jammies on and a fire in the fireplace life is pretty good! It will be an early to bed night tonight.

Haven't done too bad with food, trying to eat a bunch of meals with the abundance of stuff out of the freezers. There is tons of stuff in them, but I never seem to pull stuff out of them to cook, so this is my mission to start using it up.

I will see you all in the morning

Meal for the day

bkf Trader Joes bran muffin......(pulled out of the freezer)
lunch, cheese
dinner........Stir Fry, salad, rolls,
snack popcorn.
2 pc's WW candy

not bad.

Happy New Year! I am sorry I did not get online last night or today. We had a great time last night with our friends. We played CatchPhrase for 2-3 hours. I was hoarse this morning because of it. (It is a great game. EVERYONE should have access to it!!)

I was BADD!!! last night with food. I had fruit and lite sausage, but I also dipped my fruit in fruit dip and had pumpkin bread with butter. In addition, I had two glasses of wine. We were up until 2 or so. (Woke up this am about 10.)

I was back on track today and am focused. I plan to get in my work out routine next week, but the eating routine began today.

Tonia-I made the quinoa, black beans and corn dish today. It was good. I left the olive oil out. 2T is a lot. (I had already had my 2 t of essential oil with oatmeal.) I am glad the flautas were good. I will be making them this week.

Christie-So good to see you back. Have a great day at work!!

Jo-Hope your day was restful. The fireplace sounded wonderful.

Jules, Lori, Jennifer, Nancy, and Esther-Happy New Year! To all my buddies-This will be the BEST Year Ever!!! Love you all!
