WOW, slow morning. Where is everyone this morning?
I'm feeling better this morning. Hoping the feeling lasts and it's not a temporary thing. Tomorrow is the day my doc said I could go back to the gym so I'm hoping to get things back to normal!!
I was bad last night. DH had wanted pizza and a cookie cake for his b-day. Well, I ordered a pepperoni pizza for him and a veggie for me. I ate a couple of pieces of the veggie and then had a big slab of cookie cake. AAHHHHH! He took a bunch of the leftover cake with him today and I told him the rest had to be outta here by tomorrow morning one way or the other. I can just feel that cookie making itself at home on my hips!
Jo - what are you pondering on this morning? Any exciting plans for the day?

Good morning Jo. I think I will make Lara's cookies today. They do sound like a good munchie.
Tonia, glad you are feeling better today. The gym sounds rough so soon after the way you were feeling yesterday, you are one tough little lady there! Good for you!
I slept until 7 this morning. Lately I have been up at 6 or earlier. So this was a nice treat. I will go walk on the treadmill this morning. I might not get to be on much today, Supposed to storm this afternoon, so the computers will have to stay off.
Think I will go do some ironing while I am not tired.

Good Morning Buddies,
We woke up this morning to 8 inches of snow. I would like to thank Lara for sharing!!!!! Lara, are you snowed in again. By Sunday we are suppose to have a couple of feet of snow. YUCK!!!
Tonia ~ I am glad you are feeling better. Are you staying home today. What did they find out with the surgery? Oh, and what about this new job?
Jo ~ Are you still pondering.
Carson has a basketball game tonight. It is about 30 minutes away, but I am thinking they will cancel it. At least I am hoping they will. I could sure use a weekend snowed in.

Good morning ladies,
i've decided to take a break from the boards. I am still doing WW, no worries there. i just don't have the time to post or to keep up. i find it all overwhelming.
with that said, i hope everyone has a great new years.

Good Friday morning buddies!
Jules, you could send us some of that snow here to Va, but it's 60 and sunny here today, so I guess you should wait a few more months. :bcb_bigsm Stay warm!
Esther, I agree with you. Tonia is one tough cookie-filled lady to go to the gym after not feeling well yesterday.
Tonia, keep the cookie cake away!!! :bcb_yuck: It tastes like old socks!!
Jo, we all want to know-what are you pondering today?
I am exhausted and ticked off. Last night, about 3:30 am, Mack started to bark, and I yelled to him to quiet down and he did-for 10 minutes. I finally had to get out of bed, after not sleeping well in the first place anyway, and let the dogs out. When I opened the door to let them out, my neighbors 2 dogs greeted me! I was shocked to see them at 4 am, and it actually scared the bejessus out of me. After all, it was 4 am, and I am alone in the house right now. anyway, they all frolicked for a while, and then all 3 male dogs were humping the one female dog, and now I know why Mack and Spanky were so restless-she is in heat. Oh goodie. At 4 am, why is she and Luke outside in 25 degree weather? I got the 2 boys in the house again, (not easy) and put them back in their kennels. (again, Spank was easy, Mack was a pill) I went back to bed, and Mack continued to howl, and Sadie continued to scratch the front door. :bcb_mad2 I got up again, in a rush of rage, meaning to get my neighbor's phone number, hit mack's kennel with a screwdriver and told him to hush, and stomped back upstairs into bed. I forgot the phone number. :bcb_mad2 I will call today, and tell them that they NEED to restrain their dogs at night. When I left this morning, their one car was gone-I'll bet they left their babysitter with the kids, and she left the garage door open. :bcb_mad2

Good Morning Ladies! We definately got hit good last night with this storm... but like the trooper I am, here I sit, at my desk... all alone... since no one else has been able to make it in..lol It's going to be one of those days I guess. Troy just called, he's stuck in the snow somewhere near my sil's house.... what a mess. Anyway ladies, I'm a captive audience today... who's here to slack with me??
Ms. Esther, 7am, wow! You must have been a tired lady. Hopefully your storm won't move in.
Tonia, those cookie cakes are dangerous... get it out of the house! Listen to your body today and try not to overdo it.
Jo, are ya still pondering? I just poured my coffee so here I'll sit pondering with ya.

Morning all! Well I feel like something stuck to the bottom of a shoe this morning! This cold/cough just won't slack off at all. And of course I can't be like a normal person and have no appetite when I'm sick....no no no all I want to do is eat and eat. My DS is the same way, and so are a lot of people in my family actually. I picked up a magazine at the grocery store yesterday, couldn't find WW, probably all gone, I bought First. There are 124 pages counting the covers, there were 20 pages with ads for diet pills/additives/programs etc! Crazy huh? I can honestly say that after trying loads of what I'll call "weight loss helpers" I've definitely concluded that following a sensible eating guide (like WW of course :bcb_wink3 ) and some exercise is THE ONLY way to make it last. Blows my mind how many of these pills are out now. Every time you turn around there's a new one on the market. Anyway, that's my rant for this morning.
Glad to hear that you're feeling better Tonia, I made the mistake of getting a cheesecake over the holidays. I feel your pain! I'm sure that I ate most of it. But it was so darn good! Oh well, we sometimes don't always make the best decisions, but we know what to do about it afterward.
I'm off to get something accomplished today! Have a good one everybody!

Esther - have fun on the treadmill! I won't do anything major tomorrow at the gym, but I thought a yoga class might get me back in the swing of things.
Jules - we have rain here today but no snow. It hasn't really been that cold here this year with the exception of a couple of days here and there. :( Yes, I have a new job but I don't want to jinx anything yet so I'm keeping the details secret until I put in my resignation. It's a great move for me though and a lot less travel. :D
Chris - we'll miss you, but I totally understand. We'll be here if you ever want to pop in and say hello!
OK ladies, I just got out of the shower so I need to get my hair dried. We're supposed to have some storms and I'd hate for the power to go out before I got my hair did! hee hee

Wow, a few phone calls can really put me behind on the board!
Chris, There are times when it all gets overwhellming. Take it easy, stay OP and know that we are here if you need us.
Ms. Nancy, tell your neighbor that you AND your buddies are going to come rough them up if they can't keep their dogs taken care of! What kind of fool lets a female dog in heat run loose? Anyway, I hope your day goes better then your night.
Jules, I'm sorry about the snow... really I am! I just didn't want to be alone in the storm this time.

WOW, you guys are quick. I missed a few of you . . .
Nancy - I hate nights like that. Something gets into my dog occasionally and he does the same howling and barking thing. Makes for a bad day! Hope you can sneak a cat nap at some point.
Lara - you are a trooper! I would have stayed snuggled in bed a while longer this morning if there was that much snow! I hope Troy can at least make it to your SIL's house and can get out of that weather.
Lori - sorry you aren't feeling well this morning. It's that time of year. Take care of yourself. Have good for you foods and you'll be feeling better soon and will feel full. Maybe some chicken soup and crackers??
OK, NOW I will dry my hair. BBL.

Lori, Hang in there sweetie! I'm the same way, when I get a cold, I eat, eat, eat.
Tonia, Luckily Troy was within walking distance of her house so he walked up and got their 4 wheel drive truck and is now headed home to get his tow straps to pull his car out. his car will stay parked at my sil's house for a few days..lol

Well, I'm all blow dried and dressed now. AND, I just realized why I am so tired and feeling a little funky still. I just open my birth control pack and saw that TOM will be here next week. So that explains a few things. I have a double whammy of recovering from my little surgery and PMS! :bcb_mad2

Jules, Mack and Spanky are both fixed, but Sadie, my neighbor's dog, is not. Just because a male dog is neutered, does not mean they aren't interested in doing the deed. :bcb_grin Let me tell you, last night, she had 3 very interested, but sterile young buckeroos after her. Oh, just thinking about it makes me tired all over again. My brain just isn't working well. Lack of sleep, and I was screaming at the dogs last night and my voice isn't great today either. I have a monster headache, and I just cannot get sick now. I have such momentum right now, and if I get sick, it will come to a screetching halt. bcb_sad

Here we go, just to make the day better.... I've been waiting for a spice order to arrive since about the 15th of december, customers had ordered things for christmas. On the 23rd I went to the post office and told them that I was waiting for a package, it was sent by the company and that I hadn't yet recieved notice of it arriving at the post office. I was told that there was nothing there for me, this morning I called again because I didn't recieve any notice. Low and behold I was told that it was there since the 17th and it would be returned on tuesday if I didn't go and get it by then! I lost it, well almost, So after one client saying that she now didn't want $35 worth of the stuff I have to either sell it again, keep it or return it. Wo is me. This stuff is pure, nothing added to increase shelf life, which makes it safer for us to consume, but a real bummer because I can't just stock it. I'll use some of it I suppose. I did havea few things ordered for myself, I got a cruet for making my own salad dressing, a stainless mini whisk, 2 spatulas, 4 mini pizza pans, and an ice cream scoop that uses the heat from your hand to helpthe scoop go through the ice cream easier. It's like the pampered chef one, just cheaper! Mcdonald's was next to the post office, my DS wanted some fries, so having no patience at all today I got them for him, and had about 6-7 myself. Not too bad I suppose considering that I wanted to order myself a meal, but didn't. He never ate the fries either, kids! So now it's off to fix lunch. I think it'll be garden veg soup and a sandwich for me, and not sure what for DS. He's 3 adn a very picky eater. Oh my I've ranted a lot! Sorry! But there's no adults here to listed to me bcb_sad !
Pass the water!

I got my ironing board up and now am ready to "do the deed". Gerry got up, and I cooked his bacon. I only smelled - do I have to count a point for that? I really wanted a taste, but resisted.
Nancy, I would have been mad and screaming too, if that had happened here. Let them know about it! I feel like I might be getting congested too. I can't do that - I have too much going on to get sick! And I did not buy the airborne like Lara told me to last time, and with the storm coming in today - thanks to Tonia- I won't get out to town to get some. I guess she likes sharing as much as Lara does.
Jules, hopefully you are home today, and did not have to get out to work. Lara was better than I would have been. I would have called in and used bad weather as an excuse not to go to work.
Lori, hope you feel better soon. Did you get back on your eliptical yesterday? Or did you take a day to rest and try to recover.
Jo, are you still pondering? must be a world changing event that you have on your mind!
Lara, glad Troy was close to sil house when he got stuck. I haven't turned on the weather channel this morning to see how bad you all got hit. Sure seems only right that they let you go 2 early since eveyone else got 2 late.
Tonia, soy meatballs can not stay hidden from you when you are on your mission. Good luck on the --- hush hush --!! Let us know!
Chris, we will miss you, pop back on when you are at work and have time.
Karen, where are you this morning? Doing Ok?
I will come back later, we have clouds now, but nothing else so far.

Esther, I went ahead and got on the elliptical anyway last evening. I needed it to vent a little. But a word of wisdom.... When lipsyncing while on an exercise machine, don't get too carried away if balance on the machine is necessary! There was I trotting along, I rarely use the arm things on the elliptical-I use it like I'm jogging, Joan Jett came on the mp3 player "I love rock and roll", and come on who doesn't lip sync that one!?!?!?!? Bopping along and nearly fell forward off the bloody thing! Then of course having an out of contol imagination I was thinking wouldn't it be funny if I did fall forward and got stuck in the wall that was about 4 feet in front of me by my front teeth, and someone had to come and haul me out of it!?!?! I don't know where I come up with this stuff, but of course that hit me funny and I couldn't stop laughing, my DS was like what's funny mommy? Poor kid. Ok, off to the kitchen for real this time!

Lori, what a bad deal - the po not getting your order to you when it was there! I am retired po - and I remember one night when we were putting mail into the boxes, this one gal was folding a big envelope - with lots of cardboard in it, so it would fit into a tiny box. All over it was stamped "do not bend". She was a person that did not endure "suggestions" easily, but that time I had to speak up. She quit after only a coupld folds, but I was not a favorite person for a long time!
I will bbl

I guess I will pick up some Airborne at the store while grocery shopping today. why not? I don't think it could hurt, but I doubt it'll do any good now. I am feeling sinus problems coming on-my face is hurting and I'm sounding like a baby now so I'll stop. :bcb_blush
Esther, if you do core, you can have canadian bacon. It is core! :bcb_bigsm
Lori, that stinks about your order. I sent my inlaws a Christmas gift, and it was promised by Christmas, but they just got it yesterday. Thank God they loved what I ordered, but I was ticked and embarassed. I had plenty of time to order it, and I want a refund on my shipping. I sent the company an email, but have not received an answer back yet. At least you can use the stuff. Take a deep breath and try not to react to the stress with eating!!

OK, I am on countdown here. Mike just left for lunch, so when he comes back, I am out of here. I feel kindof bad-my co-worker is sick with the flu, so she can't come in,and her hubby is taking care of her, so he is stressed to the max trying to take care of her, and also getting here to help Mike in the office when I leave. Buddies, I worked my day off here, and did my part, and without sleep last night, I just want to go home, curl up, and sleep for an hour or two. I feel like I have done my part here this week. I would volunteer to stay-IF I felt better and if I didn't have Erika coming in for dinner tonight.

Okay, I'll eat more veggies.. and more protein. The weekends are always sooo hard for me because I get bored! I will have to find lots to do this weekend to keep me occupied. YOu would think with all I do, I would never get bored, but my attention span is short..lol
I hope everyone has a great weekend and a Very Happy New Year!!!
Hugs, Karen

Karen, we have all gone through that "food focus" mindset, Don't think it ever really goes away, but you do get in the pattern of eatting the "right foods". It's all part of that planning and journeling thing.
Okay I have now colored my gray hairs.....can't see too well, had to take off my glasses while I am waiting the alotted time.....You all are blurry, but I know your there..............
It is another long holiday weekend, but don't forget about me at work this weekend....at least stop in and say hi to me.
Okay off to stumble around the house in my blinded state................

Gosh, I was planning on slacking all day!!! Right after lunch a guy came in that has 6 warrants out for his arrest. He wanted to know what they were for. Like he didn't know. Of course, he picked a day I was here by myself. I lied and told him I didn't know but he could go up to the sheriff's office and they could help him. Well, they helped him get settled in a jail cell. I do have a panic button under my desk. This is the first time I actually felt like maybe I was going to push it. Oh, I did accidently push it was and I will have to say that our cops, sheriff, and troopers all responded promptly. LOLOL.
Okay, where did everyone go???
wow - no time to catch up with all of you - 3 pages already! Just want to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR as I probably won't have time to check in again until Tuesday.

Okay-I went to Kohl's to buy new jeans. I like the Daisy Fuentes brand, guess 'coz she speaks Spanish. Anyway, I tried on 4's and 6's. The 4's felt snug in the legs, so I thought, no big deal, I will get the 6's. Guess what?? They felt snug in the legs, too. I went ahead and bought the 6's. I got some new work out stuff for the gym. I have not been to the gym since I returned home from Japan. Gotta get back there in the new year!!
I spent $100 at Kohl's, over $70 at Borders, and over $50 at Bath and Body Works. What fun! It was mostly gift cards!!! Then I went to the local lday spa and got my gift card replaced. I must have accidentally thrown it away. Now I can make an appt. for that massage next week when everyone is gone.
Supposedly I earned Ap's, too, for shopping. I added them, but I am not convinced.

Just 0.5 pts left for the day and a half cup of grapes accounted for but not eaten. And it's only 7:30. Sick or not I think it's off to the elliptical that I go, after I get geared up with my helmet and mouth guard! What a sight that would be! Looks like you had fun shopping mo, I can't remember the last time that I went shopping for myself just for the sake of shopping. My inlaws gave us money for christmas, but f course we always end up putting our money together and getting something for the house, my DH has his eye on a painting this year. Maybe for my b-day in february I'll treat myself. I should be down a little more in size by then as well. Ok, off to the elliptical I go. Have a good night everyone!

:bcb_bravo Tonia-I love, love, love vegetarian times!!!!! I have turned over many pages to mark interesting recipes. I am excited to try many of them. At first I was put off by the calorie/fat count. However, when I looked at the ingredients, I found many of the recipes are either Core or can be made Core very easily. I want to try the Alaskan Tomato soup, pg. 13, penne with butternut squash and the meatballs stroganoff, both on pg. 34. Also the egg recipes on pg. 36 look good. I will keep you posted on all the recipes I try. (seitan and tempeh recipes look good, too.) THANKS for sharing the info about the magazine!!!!!

WOW, we have had a scary afternoon. We had to take cover in the closet for a bit. A tornado was spotted and the sirens started going off like crazy! As soon as I pushed my fur-babies in the closet and got some blankets I could hear the wind. SCARY!!!! After the sirens went off again we crawled out of the closet to survey the area. No major damage so it never actually touched down. I think I almost peed in my pants! WOOOOOO! As fast as my heart was beating you'd think I could count a couple of APs for that! HA!
Mo - I'm glad you like that magazine. It has great recipes and like you said easily converted to Core if they aren't already. I need to try those jeans. I've had the hardest time finding ones I like.
Jules - I'm glad you didn't have to push that panic button. Scary for you too today!
Lori - get suited up and hop on that elliptical girlie! It might even make you feel better. :)
Karen - weekends are hard for all of us I think. If you're gonna fall of the wagon, it's gonna be on the weekend! So hang on tight and if you get the urge to jump off, have a glass of water and a brisk walk!!
Jo - I need to color my hair this weekend too. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow night or something. I think I wanna be a red head this time. :D OK, maybe not. Have fun at work this weekend.
Lara - good night! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
OK, DH should be home any minute now. He was freaked out after I called and told him what happened. He knew it was getting bad but didn't have a clue it had gotten that nasty outside until I called. Maybe he'll start listening to the radio every once in a while!

I got about 15 minutes on the elliptical, half of my usual time, but I was beat! I just didn't have the energy to do anymore. But I feel good that I actually did do some. My lips are puffed, cracked and throbbing.... sign of a fever you think? Scary stuff with the tornado Tonia! We had a hurricane when I lived in Nova Scotia, that was enough for me! Trees were going down like toothpicks! I'll stick to my noreasterly winds and snow here in Newfoundland thank you! I must be off to get the little one to bed. He's now playing under a clothes basket and pretending it 's a space ship and trying to persuade the dog to join him! He barely fits under it himself, let alone a 70 lb dog! That kid's got my imagination I think, and the funny thing is he took a small cardboard box and said that it was his helmet! See you all tomorrow!

Mo, well done on the shopping girl. Maybe the pants are sized a bit differently, Each brand seems to have it's own sizing. You will have to post the recipes you try and like........Alaskan tomato soup?..........Do you need Alaska Tomatoes?
Lori, you poor thing sounds like you need to be in bed, with chicken soup.....Well maybe with a small Space being in your home it isn't a real possiblity.
Tonia, yikes thats scary. We had one here a few years ago......It is really frightning.
Okay all, dinner is done and cleaned up, Food is packed for the weekend. Clothes set out for the morning.........Think I am done for the evening.
Chatted with son overseas tonight, he cracks me up...we have a new girlfriend. I lost count years ago. He is doing well. He wants to sell us his truck, It is 2 years old Ford Sport Track, low miles and he will sell it to us for what he owes on it...........Good deal we may go ahead and do it.
I will check in tomorrow from work, Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
Love jo
