I am doing personals from yesterday, so I am in “Word” here this morning.
Jo, I think that is what the board is all about. Nancy really inspired me Tuesday, and then you said I inspired you. You will be running now, so the weight bench might not be as necessary as when you couldn’t. Your elmo doctor story had me laughing so hard. Most times Gerry has a wonderful sense of humor, but when I relayed that, he just stared at me. Poor man, didn’t understand! Your trip to the “undie” store yesterday was so funny! You go by yourself and get what you want. I am with Lara here, no thongs for me! Not even “narrow betweens” they still crawl where I don’t want them! I felt like I went too fast on that mall walk. I was so tired I felt if I had to move one more inch I would “bust” in tiny giblets. I took a 3 hour nap, got up, ate soup, didn’t go to church but went back to bed and slept hard again. That was unreal!
Chris, so you are home, snuggling in this morning. Enjoy these days off you have! Sounds like you work with someone that might give you hives? At least you and Lynn have each other to help deal with that kind of personality.
Lynn, wonderful Christmas present – cash! I love getting that.
Mo, how did you do on your eating yesterday? I lost it yesterday, after being so good thru the holidays, but I will be back on track today. I promise. I like luggage that is easy to spot on the turntable. I would have gotten a wild color, but the luggage I wanted did not come in any brights. The pics are great. Your baby is getting so big! So adorable.
Lori, running out in that severe cold? You crazy woman you! I won’t even dream of doing something like that. I guess that is why I am such a “turtle” at losing weight too! Good for you – you are amazing to do that!!!!
Alissa, you made me remember my wedding video. I think I will pull it out and watch it again after I get the house cleaned up, when ever that happens!
Nancy, how is Spanky today? I am so glad they found your mom’s friend. How very scary! Is there a vet around to take Spink to today if he isn’t better?
Tonia, how you today? I hope you have a little more strength, and are not spending your time trotting to the bathroom so much today! Had to go back up and spell your name right! I probably misspell it all the time, don’t I? Sorry!
Karen, glad to have you on board with us. Post often, and you will find encouragement here. I just had my 66 birthday, (but don’t look it, my sister says!). My DH retired this year, so we spend a lot of time traveling. We leave in two weeks for a week in Hawaii. I love to “go”. Your life sounds interesting! You sound so busy, how you find time for yourself is beyond me! I had no idea about the goats, but Jo seemed to know them. Are they not too common? Core plan is great. I switch between core and flex on a regular basis. You really need the materials to be able to make it work for you. If you join the on-line group, they will send you all the stuff you need. I haven’t done that. I have meetings in town. I am about 30 minutes from town, and I am NOT a country person. So any excuse to get out of here, I jump on.
Lara, how you today? Back to work. Sounds like you had a great Christmas. Diamonds are always a great gift! Wonderful for you!
Jennifer, Happy birthday to your husband. Hope you are doing ok now?
Ok, will post this, then be right back.

I slept so hard, I was up at 5:30 here. I need to do a lot of organizing to get things back to normal and get ready to do our income taxes. I like them done by the end of January, just as soon as we get all the documents from everyone.
So today I will be in and out, working on the house. I think Gerry is going to escape to town. I encouraged him to do so!

Mseeebee... Thanks for the welcome! I love being here...how fun. My plans were to retire and travel too, but now the hubby has started this EZ Pick farm and I think it's not in my near future anymore...haha. Yes, I stay extremely busy and forget to take care of myself. That's a new goal for me now, I need lots of maintenance!! haha The goats are sooo much fun. They put on a show almost every night. They are very gentle and love attention. When I go home in the evenings I have quite a welcome crew with all my animals. They all meet me at the gate waiting for treats...now the hubby is usually in his chair snoring so I'm glad they are happy to see me..lol.
So the online WW is very helpful?? I have never joined anything like that online. But I am certainly willing to try. Too bad you are not a country person, you could come stay in my Bed and Breakfast over the horse barn!! hahahah
Have a great day! hugs, karen

Morning to all the Buddy's.
In bed early last night up early this morning.
Esther, maybe after your walking and the holidays it all just caught up with you.
What Island are you going to be visiting on your trip, I was stationed in Hawaii when I was in the military. Living there is not the same as visiting. Have you been there before?
What's on your agenda today?
Morning Karen, Whats your plan for the day?
Now for my plans,
As usual lots I could and should do, but who knows which way I will go. I have laundry to do, Beltway Granny wants to go into town to return some Christmas stuff and run to the fabric store. She has gift Certificates burning a hole in her pocketbook. I suppose I will go with her, but when I do I never seem to get in the grove again when I get home to get stuff done. But I will at least start it now so I can maybe finish up when I get home.
Got all the rose bushes and butterfly bushes cut back yesterday. Need to do some raking, but maybe DH will do it Sunday on his day off.
Poor Lara, your gonna get buried in snow again. Is Troy at home?
Well I need to finish my coffee and plan my day.

Good Morning Jo...
I don't have a good plan right now as far as eating. I am going to work on that today. I will go to the ww site in a few minutes and see what I need to do to get started OP. :)
Other than eating, I have a ton of work to do today, but I will be checking in often and trying to read lots of posts. Keeping in touch is what keeps me in line..haha
Have a great day, Karen

Hi Jo, we are going to the big island. Will be staying in Kona. We have been there once before and loved it a lot. We were honolulu last year, and I liked it all, but Gerry didn't.
Karen, what part of Florida are you in? We have stayed in Daytona Beach and Was in Orlando a couple times this year.
I am going to get up from here now. BBL

Okay-I am up and moving this am, but not much. I got up with Heidi-dog at 1 this am, and could not get back to sleep. I read for an hour or so. YAWN!
Now, for the official posting of my weight, Alissa, you were right. I pounded the water yesterday, and it was down quite a bit today. Officially I am at 134. I will work hard to get those 3 pounds off before I go back to school on Jan. 8.
I need to go back and read last night's posts. I will do that, and then post more personals.
Esther-were you in the military, too? I am glad you had such good sleep. That helps, doesn't it?
Jo-I have gift cards burning a hole in my purse, too. I need to get motivated and get out in the world today.
Also-I have something to post. A young singer/songwriter Luke Austin Daugherty who lives in the town where I teach is up for some awards nationally. He wrote a song for Lexi, the 10 year old from my church who died in Oct. If he wins, he gets a recording contract. Here is the info and the link:
Please go to the following link and vote for Luke in the 6 categories and do not forget to go to the bottom of the voting page and hit "submit." You will get a confirmation response back. Thank you.

Okay all, need to throw my shoes on and get out the door. Will try the underware run today. Maybe I will get lucky. Will leave Granny at the door and do it myself. I am a woman on a mission! Chuckle.

Mo, lets go shopping today! No, I went the last two days, gotta do housework today! I was never in the military, Gerry had 20 years in the Navy, but he was already out when I met him. I went to tyour links, but they did not work. Will check them again later. Those three pounds will be off soon for you, I know.
Lynn, will miss you around today. Come on when you can.
I am having dessert for breakfast. I made this "cherry pudding" that our WW leader posted, and it is 1 1/3 cups for 3 points. So that is my breakfast, the last of that. I don't plan meals well in advance. I just have to do my points as I go, and I usually always have enough saved for a snack in the evening if I want.
I have to get my housework done, so don't know if I will make it over to the treadmill or not. I don't want to overdo like I did yesterday. That wasn't fun.
Gerry got up with a cold, so he probably won't be going to town. That means I have to work around him.

Good Morning Ladies! Last night I was so tired that I went straight home, ate, showered and was in bed by 7pm... I only got half of my WW magazine read between doing the head bobbing and Troy coming in and out so I'll read the other half tonight. Tonight I'm supposed to be getting my hair trimmed and my eyebrows "ripped" but we'll see how the snow goes. I've heard so many different stories on how much we're supposed to get so I guess we'll just wait it out and see.
Jo, Troy is off this week from work, thankfully, he doesn't go back until Tuesday. Have fun with Beltway Granny! Buy lots of good stuff at the fabric store. After Jesse's birthday, next month, my plan is to get back into some sewing. I still have material from when Jonah was 4 or 5... so about 13yrs old. I'm thinking he's not going to want anything made out of Power Rangers or Pinky and the Brain material..lol
Ms. Esther, you sound in good spirits this morning! Send Gerry on out the door to town and enjoy your day.
Karen, Planning is the key! Check out the WW website and plan out your meals. Then you're not looking around the kitchen trying to figure out what to have.
Lynn, Good Morning Lady! :bcb_blush bummer about the ambulance side.. we'll miss you today. Way to go on planning your menu.
Mo, You'll get those lbs off, you always do. Hit that way girly! BTW, shopping is a form of exercise!
Okay, I'm going to get my menu posted and then I'll be back.

Karen, the "cookies" are just something that I've concocted. The basic recipe goes like this.....
Baked oatmeal and pumpkin cookies
6 servings/1pt per serving or Core
1 cup Quaker Oats Quaker Oats Multigrain Hot Cereal
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1 item egg
2Tbsp fat-free sugar-free instant vanilla pudding & pie filling mix
1. Mix 2T of pudding mix with pumpkin, add egg, mix well. In seperate bowl mix hot cereal and pumpkin pie spice. Combine wet and dry ingredients and then mix in berries.
Form into six equal size cookies. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes, enjoy!
I add fruit and spices to mine, just depends on the moment for me. Lately I've been adding chopped cranberries and oranges to them, it seems to make them moist and very tasty. Sometimes I jsut add a little pumpkin pie spice and call it good. If you choose to make them just experiment, and make sure you figure the points for what you add.

Protien is very important... it will help to keep you from getting hungry throughout the day. I think that's why Core works out so much better for me then Flex. Having more protien and whole foods helps to maintain my blood sugar. The more refined carbs I eat the more of a mess I am..lol
harliee57
12-28-2006, 09:17 AM
Okay, great! .... I will add the protein. I am a mess enough without adding to it..haha

12-28-2006, 09:21 AM
Lara, on your receipe, is the 2 T pudding dry or after you make it? That looks really good and core - no flour!
Karen, have you started journaling yet? Or is that something you will have to work into. The journal is what keeps us on track, and most or us are shocked at what we eat when we first start writing it down! I even journaled yesterday when I knew I had overeaten! Disaster, big time, that might have been why I was so tired last night.
I have one room almost done, so better get back to work.

Ms. Esther, the pudding is the powder. I don't care for the heavy splenda taste so I opted for this for a sweetner. They do not come out sweet so you have to mess around with the recipe a bit. Really, all this is is a baked oatmeal recipe in the shape of cookies. This gives me the "cookie" affect to have with my coffee and what-not, it also makes them very portable.. I carry them in my purse all the time. One of these and a glass of milk or water and you're pretty much full.

Good Morning Buddies,
Sorry I was MIA yesterday. This cold is really getting me down. I worked yesterday and I am at work today. We are really busy with year end stuff. Carson has basketball games the next 2 nights. Not sure what the plans for the weekend are. We are suppose to get a storm, but they change the forecast daily. We haven't had Christmas with my parents yet, because I was sick.
I am struggling right now with WW. I know part of it is being sick. I have been walking the last 3 nights with Denny and Sawyer. After the first of the year I plan on going to a WW meeting and get the new materials. I hope this will get me refocused.
No time for personals, but I want to welcome Karen. This is a wonderful group of ladies and I don't know what I would do without them. I need to go back and read the post from yesterday, so I can get to know you.

Karen, Journaling is as important as planning is. You would be amazed at what goes into your mouth some days... and others not near enough. It's so important to eat your alloted amount of points per day to ensure that you're getting enough calories in. If you need any help at all that's what we're here for.

Alissa, Hi - come back when you can slack a bit!
Jules, so sorry you are not feeling good from that cold. Maybe it will be better by this weekend so you can go to your parents.
Karen, if you want to do core, follow lara's lead. She is doing fantastic on core and has wonderful ideas.
I have the living room neat, dusted, but think I will skip the vacuum today. DH decided to go see his movie, and I will get my shower before I start clearing the kitchen table. Mounds of "stuff" has collected since Monday - don't know where it all came from. Gerry looked at it last night and remarked that sometime he might want to sit there for dinner. So I guess I better get it done before he gets home!
I will have an apple, cheese and crackers - 4 points - for my lunch. I get my fruit, my protein, and a starch, and will be full. Probably popcorn middle of the afternoon.

Good morning everyone! I'm getting a late start here on the thread this morning and now I'm behind.
Today is DH's birthday so I have to get out and pick up a few things. I decided to get out to the grocery store this morning because I didnt have anything WWs friendly left in the house and I overdid it a bit, I'm exhausted. So I'm taking a break and will get back out in a few to get DH's stuff for his b-day. Amazing what a toll a 60 minute outpatient procedure can take on you.
OK guys, sorry no personals right now. I want to get some lunch and a little rest so I can get things done for DH's b-day. I'll be back a bit later.

Karen, If you're going to microwave popcorn, 94%fat free is the lowest in points as well as Core. Personally, I'm an air popped popcorn fan. I spray it with a little olive oil spray, sprinkle on some salt and I'm in heaven. For air popped up to 3 cups if either free or 1pt I can't remember... I think 0pts.
As far as an apple, an averaged sized apple, the size of a baseball is 1pt. Pretty much, 1 cup of fruit is 1pt, fresh or frozen.
Cheese... it depends on the type that you buy as to how many points it is. For Core, ff cheese and soy cheese are Core. If you're having sliced cheese, ff cheese is 1pt per slice, 2% is 1pt for the first slice and 3pts for 2 slices. The laughing cow spreadable cheese is 1pt per wedge. as far as brick cheese, you'd have to figure the points. Full fat cheese is pretty high in points but some people are willing to spend the points on it.
It's all about choices.

Karen, before we got our new fridge that has the water and ice dispenser, I kept about 5 33oz bottles full in the fridge and I drank 3 a day at minimum(when I was at home)... at work I have a WW 32oz cup that I try to get no less then 2 of those in before I leave. You would be suprised how much drinking the water helps in your weight loss efforts.

Someone stopped by my office and was talking to me about my new mini fridge that the kids bought me...and of course I'm thinking... you're sucking up my slacking time!!!
Jules, if we dont' get snowed out of the office I'll be here slacking with you. I've gotten almost everything off my desk today.
Lara - I also have one of those 32 oz mugs and go through phases of using it. However, lately I have been drinking 8 oz in a paper cup and then stacking the cups as I go to see how many I have had and how many more I need. I guess I need that visual lol
Jules - tomorrow is my day with dd. no work and no computer! However, dh is taking a half day at work and may take dd for a while in the afternoon so I can get a little work done (and sneak in some bcb).

You guys with your water. Reminded me I only have in 2 cups so far today, so guess I better go float my gut now so I can sleep in bed tonight rather than trotting to the bathroom several times!
I loved my apple cheese and crackers. Enjoyed my shower too, but would much rather have had a nice bubble bath. Did that yesterday, and Gerry had to get me out of the tub! He really laughed, and reminded me I better not do that unless he is here. He will get that tub in the master bath fixed so I can get there, it is huge, so I can manuever better with my bum knees and shoulder.
Karen, that is why you really need the materials. You get a slide that you can figure out the points, if you do flex. Or even core, since you get 35 points per week to spend on non core foods. My crackers are 5 per serving for 1 point, I get a large apple - counts as 2 fruits - for 2 points, and I had the laughing cow low fat cheese for 1 point. I do the microwave popcorn, and will have 2 points there, 1/2 of a large bagged - popped. This can be really confusing without reading up on things. At one time the formula was floating around that you could use if there was no slider, but I sure don't know who had it. I didn't keep it since I have the slider.
Tonia, take it easy, but I know how you feel about getting things just right for the birthday. That is necessary for me, too.
Alissa, I would have thought you would be snowed in too. I guess lara gets it all!
Jules, slacking a bit. I probably missed you while I was eating, but oh well, catch you next time.
Nancy, you thru painting the bathroom? Or did you have to work today?

Jo, Yeah! New undies! Are you going to take a picture for us??? I'm kidding! Enjoy your quiet time.
Karen, You'll know if you need protien... your body will tell you so. Adding milk is a good thing, milk does a body good! Ask away, that's what we're here for.
Ms. Esther, You're doing great today, it's good to have you pop in! You have been doing so good lately.
Alissa, sorry I had to run out on you, the time crept up on me. Take a break and come back and see us.

Finally got my errands done. I have DH's cookie cake and gifts in the dining room, now I just gotta get the gifts wrapped. I have a few hours before he will be home, so I'm gonna rest a bit first.
I went to Whole Foods this morning and got stocked up on a few things. I grabbed some "blueberry pomegranite sparklers" for a new drink. I hope they are tasty. I've been searching for soy "meatballs" everywhere but can't find any. I guess I'm gonna have to make my own.
Sorry I missed everyone slacking! Maybe I'll be able to slack with you guys tomorrow.
Hi everyone - taking a short break. Walked to starbucks - good. ordered peppermint hot chocolate - bad. Came back and looked it up on the starbucks website and even with skim milk and no whipped cream it is 6 points!!! Anyway - I drank about 1/4 but spilled the rest out after I found that out! waste of money but then again if I do drink it and gain weight I will have to pay at WW for being over my goal and that costs a lot more than 1 hot chocolate!! I love rationalizations lol
Tonia - I get my soy meatballs at Trader Joe's. Do they have those in Texas? Whole foods near you doesn't have them? that is surprising. maybe you can ask them to order them.

Alissa, what a bummer! I hate it when that happens. One time at Starbucks my order was messed up and rather then getting a NF/SF latte I got a Full Fat/sf latte, they were none to happy when I marched my bum back in... $4 is a lot to throw down the drain and I'm not about to waste it on my body. In the past I would have just drank it, but lately, not a chance.
Tonia, Whole Foods is really good about ordering stuff... may be something to look into.

That was a lot of reading to catch up on! That'll teach me to wait until late in the day to read what's been posted! I've been within my points today but not good choices. I passed the bakery section at the grocery, and a loaf of homemade bread called out "Lori I'm over here...come take me home!" I swear that's what I heard! So home I trotted with my bread and it was toast for me, but I made that my lunch, another bad choice I know. I really need to get journalling too. I bought myself a new set of food scales at the grocery... I was so proud of myself, they've had these really nice stainless steel ones there for a while $25, but I was too cheap to buy them, they were marked down to $9 today! they go up to about 8 lbs. They'll look nice on my counter with the new thick slice stainless toaster I got for christmas! (bought it myself, my own worst enemy I swear!) I'll try to get another 30 minutes on the elliptical this evening, not sure when my neice is coming back to stay here, so no babysitter to let me go running until she gets here or DH gets home, which ever comes first.
Karen..... welcome! I have an excel spreadsheet that calculates points for you after you enter the fat, calories and fiber, this may help until you get your info. You can email me, my email is in my profile and I"ll email it to you. I've been forgetting my water as well. I'm like ..hmmm can't remember who said it.... I need a visual as well with the water. I have 6 bottles that I keep refilling and line them on the counter as I empty them, then refill for the next day. That's when I'm doing well with water, not now for sure.
Hope everyone else is having a fun day. Got another undie chuckle for you...while I was in the shower this morning my dog (70 lb golden retriever) chewed and ripped my underwear that I had taken in the bathroom to wear! Little bugger! Beyond repair is all I can say about those!
Off to plan some meals!

Hi buddies,
I am back from lunch, and have a few moments. It has been way too busy here for the week between Christmas and New years. Typically, this week is a very slow one here, but we only had Tuesday that was slow, and the rest of the week is way too hectic!
Esther, I only have the first coat of paint on it yet. It is a hard job actually, and is taking me more time than I thought it would. It is already looking pretty, and when done, I'll try and take pics and post. I got a new idea today. Because it's a half bath, I am considering taking out the towel rack, (it is butt ugly and cheap because the builder installed it) and replacing it with this really pretty wire basket that hangs on the wall. I will put the towels in there, and the more I talk about it, the more I like it!! Now, I will have to take a step back tonight, take the towel rack holders off the wall, spackle it, dry it, spackle again, dry, sand, wipe down, and last but certainly not least, paint! It will be so worth it though.
Lara, I need to go back and read yesterday's posts. Diamonds???? OOOoooo, AAHHHHHH. I got gold, and I love it!
Tonia, yes, it is amazing what a seemingly simple procedure can do to you! Take it easy, don't overdo, and enjoy dh's birthday!
Jo,new undies!! Cool beans. I love new stuff, but I have to agree, thongs are for those people who have no feeling in their crack area. Sorry, I know-TMI.

I have been enjoying reading all the posts today. Drew and Erica stopped by with Kohen, left him, and they went up to finish cleaning out their apt. Fed Kohen, gave him a bottle, and now he is asleep.
I had a wonderful salad with ff poppyseed and caesar dressing, along with soy chicken strips. Yummers! For dessert I had cranberries that I cooked down with Splenda. I added orange zest and fresh orange juice, as well as pulp. It was wonderful!
Dinner is some sort of chicken. I have breasts in the crock pot. I do not know if I will bbq them or what. 'Tis something to ponder. Drew and Erica are coming over for steak, baked 'taters, and salad. I also am giving Drew the rest of his sugar cream pie to take to Erica's dad's house.
Dave and Clark visited Duke today. They saw Coach "K" and a player who is originally from Carmel, IN. They are having a great time. I will read now and get taters ready for the oven.
TTFN!
(Jo-what are you reading??)

Lori, Way to go on passing up that evil bread that calls out your name! And on buying yourself a new food scale, Woo Hoo to you!
Ms. Nancy, Yes ma'am, I did get a diamond necklace, it's white and yellow gold and quite beautiful. When Troy gives a gift he does really well.. and he did wonderfully this year, I was truly impressed.
Mo, lucky you getting to spend time with Baby Kohen. Okay, so I've missed out on a lot. Are Kohen and mama going to Virginia Beach as well? When does Drew leave?

Lara-Erica and Kohen are staying here. She has to finish school. Then, we are not sure what will happen next. It depends on where he goes after basic. I have been praying to be a good and supportive mother. That is what he needs right now.

Lara-On the oats for the "cookie", do they need to be long cooking ones? I have Bob's Red Mill 5 grain rolled whole grain hot cereal plus flaxseed. (Truly the longest name I have ever seen on a package of oatmeal.) Would that work?
BTW: If you cannot get the link to work to vote for Luke Austin, just type in the first part of the web address, the indie part. That should get you there. (I was able to use the link.)
I am mentioned in the liner notes of the special edition CD he is releasing in Jan. What an honor!!

Alissa - no we don't have Trader Jo's. Just Whole Foods and Central Market. I was surprised that Whole Foods didn't have soy meatballs. I'll have to ask them to order them for me.
Lara - good for you taking your order back into Starbucks. I can't tell you how many times I've had to do the same! I'm going to ask Whole Foods to order the meatballs for me.
Nancy - I feel like I should be back to 100%. It wasn't a major surgical procedure, but I feel so tired and weak still. I'm beginning to wonder if something else is wrong. :(
OK, on to wrap the gifts . . . BBL.

Mo, yes you can use that hot cereal. The one I use is actually Hodgson Mill Multigrain cereal... one of my friends uses just regular oats. I prefer the "heartier" oats.
Tonia, you're not overdoing it now are you?

I don't think so Lara, but I don't know. The only thing I did yesterday was clean the kitchen and I felt horrible the rest of the day. Today I ran a couple of errands I and feel weak and tired. :(

Gerry just drove up, so I will go help with the groceries.

Tonia, my motherly instincts say that you just have to relax and get lots of rest, and you'll feel better every day. when they do that kind of procedure, it can cause your body to react the procedure, and sometimes you are just fine and have no side effects, and other times, you have bad side effects. If you have fever, chills, or any other sickly symptoms, call your doctor. If you have for instance the intersticial cystitis, the procedure may have flared your condition for a bit, but it should go back to normal. Good luck and keep your chin up. This too shall pass! :bcb_up

Tonia, after readin through yesterday's posts, you said that your temp went up. If you are running a temperature, you will feel weak and tired. If you have a fever, call your doctor. You shouldn't have one from the procedure! :buddysmoo

Okay ladies, I'm outta here for the evening. It's doubtful that I'll be back online tonight but if I get the opportunity I might pop in. I'm on strike from our comptuer room until it gets cleaned up.. it's a scary site! however, I may drag my laptop into my room when I crawl into bed.
Tonia, if you feel week hon rest... don't overdo it.

Ladies, I am out the door in a few minutes. I am only going to work half a day tomorrow!! I'll come in at 8:30 and after lunch I will :bcb_salut .
My dd is coming tomorrow from Florida, and I am looking forward to that. Then my other dd is coming on Saturday, and Saturday late night, my dh and ds are coming home from Vegas. My ds called me today and said that his trip was complete and well worth it. I thought he had won some good money, but no-my dh took him to this facility to shoot an M-16 fully automatic rifle. He had a ball, and is very happy with himself.
Jules, I got your Christmas card, and thank you! I loved the pictures! Brad got his first deer this year, but it was a doe. He didn't care-he was so excited, and I had to make the venison. It wasn't bad-I was surprised. YOu have to understand that I was born and raised a city girl and I am just not used to "fresh" meat. LOL
Welcome Karen! I'm Kathryne (AKA Kat).
saying I fell off the wagon this holiday season is quite possible the understatement of the century...Im at home with my family and they are hosting all sorts of dinner partys with fabulous food and no point friendly meals in sight. I'm trying to get back on track but it's hard because I'm still at home and I have gotten the taste for all this food again. I'm really upset with myself...*sigh*
I hope you all had a great holiday though!!! I got spoiled by santa and have been just relaxing and enjoying my time with family.
Thanks again everyone for the Christmas cards!

Got caught up on the daily posts...........
Lori, you need to fight off the food voices. They are bad very bad. Was it good bread?
Lara, I will NOT post a picture of the photo shoot of the undies, You would all have to poke your eyes out. I was really impressed with the cleavage though! Chuckle.
Think I will have to try the cookie recipe, How many points do you think?
Mo, just a bunch of witch novels It is a group of books about 7 sisters who each have special abilities, It is just mindless stuff. You said that Drew and Erika are cleaning out the apt? Did they move?
Nancy think the gun thing is a man thing.........fireworks, loud bangs and weapons, yep it's a man thing. Are you painting tomorrow when you get home from work. Have fun with your girls as they come in.
Esther, do you feel better?
Karen, did you do okay today? Did you order your stuff?
Kat, hate to say it, but you need to go back to school, home food is hurting ya.
Lara, are you making snow men yet?
Tonia, have a nice evening, sounds like a nice celebration.
Plans for the evening, Pin together some runner stuff, watch TV, wow that looks exciting.
Friday, get a hair cut, need one very very badly. Clean the house up. Pay the bills, oh, joy oh, joy.
Did fairly well today, I tried making some more of those pretzel rolo things....Forgot them in the oven again, turned into one big glob of gooey stuff.............I did eat some of it, I threw the rest away........too tempting.
I will do Lara's cookies tomorrow. Will put it in Mastercook and see the point value.
I will see you all tomorrow.

Made the cookies Lara, they smell wonderful............I did double the recipe, and added 1 cup unsweetened applesauce since all I had was the steel cut oats. Added dried blueberries and cherries.
From my calculation in Mastercook, it will be 1 pt per cookie.
Thanks they will be a lifesaver in the munchie phase I am dealing with now.
