Morning!

I know I know, where have I been right? Well keep in mind here Christmas goes from the 24th to the 26th. So while everyone else gets 1 day we get 3. Not to mention I had the flu:bcb_yuck: I thought I was dying on Saturday (dh called to ban me from going to the Christmas market.) On Sunday dh & fil found the ER parmacy (I so blew that one) & after a long talk with the tech got me some meds that I can actually take.
We also took the boys to church on Sunday, the service was nice (what we could see of it.) Dh was actually upset about that. We normally go to church on the 26th (it counts for Christmas here) but since Alex had a collection box we went on the 24th. Well there were more people in that church then there are in the whole village! We ended up standing in the back behind about 2 rows of people with more behind us. All dh kept saying on the way home was about how he thinks it's a shame that the church is so full only one day a year & going then is not going to absolve you for the whole year. Funny, that coming out of dh's mouth!

We also had the whole family here fil & smil left on the 25th & dh picked gmil up on the 26th with mil & Helmut coming later in the day as well.

The kids loved thier gifts, don't remember who asked but yes I did end up finding a plane for Christopher, not the one I wanted but it's still cute (from little people.) Fil did the traditional "Oh, the boys got too much stuff, etc" thing. Okay we don't really spoil the kids during the year so if at Christmas there's more under the tree for them then so be it. I do think that Alex now owns most of the lego catalog though thats for sure!

I got 2 dvd sets (Gilmore Girls) & a collectors ornament (filled with marzipan, to which I gave dh a piece.) We agreed to keep it to the bare minumum this year since we want to save for the move. He stuck to it, I didn't. He got the GC for my salon, the Denver Donkeys pullover & a dvd set. Amount wise not a lot, but it did cost a bit more then we agreed. I was actually shocked he was totally into the GC, I thought I was going to have at least a little bit of a struggle but nope, he was all for it, I even told him that if Heinz Ward (a football player) could have manicures on a regular basis it was ok for him, he just smiled.

Tonight is WI & I'm doubting a loss, not that I was so bad or whatever but I'm on meds & I only got to workout 4 times this week. I really want to have a loss (or a standstill) every week until the op, I figure I have 2 more WI's (including tonight) so wish me luck!

Okay I have no time for personals, both of the kids are up & bothering me now, I'll be back tonight at the latest for my WI update!

On my way out now to go to the gym, a friend is picking me up so I need to hurry.

checking in here.................

It's 3:30 pm, and I'm feeling lazy. House isn't in the greatest shape and I'm seeing the cleaning that needs to be done. ugh.

I did make a delicious soup though. I cut up an onion, added chopped tomatoes, water, zucchini, carrots and 1 potato. boiled boiled boiled, added garlic salt, some soup mix powder, some fresh basil, and then blended with the hand blender thingie that can go into the soup pot. YUMMY. It's thick and just wow, good. I can imagine also using this as a baby food with a little less water. And it was so easy.

I'm learning that it's not so difficult to prepare and have on hand, good healthy ZERO POINT foods. The ONLY ONLY ONLY thing of any points in this soup is the ONE potato that I put in, so maybe it's only really zero points if you're doing CORE, and if you're doing flex, then maybe it's maximum 1/2 point per bowl. AND IT'S SO GOOD and feels so good to have something warm when it's cold outside.

ok, nuff from me. Hope I find more posts later when I come back. We are going tonight to a friend's army swearing in ceremony at the Western Wall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Wall). Very cool that I can just pop over there in a half hour! Will be cold and all outside, but neat to see too.

Good Morning.

Susie- Nice pictures. I didn't take any of my kids building snowmen yesterday, I should have!

Vicki- Sorry you were sick! Sounds like you had a great Christmas though.

My day includes a trip to the dentist for a cleaning and I am not looking forward to it. Mostly because I don't feel like making the effort to leave the house. I'm feeling very hermit like right now and just want to stay home! *sigh* Oh well I suppose I am going to have to get back to the real world soon anyway. Tomorrow is weigh in for me, I hoping to be down the 3lbs I need to, to reach my 10%.

Good Afternoon Ladies...

Yesterday i was waiting around for people and i was busy with a bunch of projects and never left the house. Today i got lucky and the guy came early to put the new desk together so i might actually get to go out today!!

The weather here is beautiful. Sunny and crisp. It did rain a few times but mostly in the middle of the night so it doesn't really bother anyone.

With any luck all the projects will be done by tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. And then tomorrow is the funeral for our SIL's aunt who passed away last week. DS is coming back on Sunday and i'm hoping we can do something fun for New Years Eve with him. At the very least his computer will be all set up and he will be happy about that.

Yesterday i did get to do the whole Ab-doer tape and then my machine ate the tape. I was soooo annoyed but then DH reminded me that it really should have came with a DVD (at least it said so on the box) so i called and they are mailing one out to me. I liked the workout but i'm sure that i will need more than that. I think it will make a nice addition to my regular walking routine. Something to do in the evenings.

I am working on remotivating myself now that the holidays are over and the junk is disappearing from our house. I know that WI will not be good this week but i'm going anyway and face the music (Saturday morning). As of yesterday i've been doing my best to stay away from the junk. At lunch time i felt very hungry so i made a bowl of oatmeal with an apple and cinnamon in the microwave and that kept me full till dinner. And, right about now i'm doing it one day at a time.

There was one thing that made me sad this past week. Last year one of the SIL's gave everyone Pistaccio nuts in a cute tin. It was like 3 lbs of nuts. I asked her to take them back cause i'm the only one here who likes them and they were a real sabotage for me. So this year she does the same thing and when i asked why she did it she says You have to take them... t hey are for everyone. I thought that is just so self centered. She wanted to give what she wanted to give... not about what the person would like to have or can't have. Oh, and she also left one of those cookie making jar sets.... with layers of nuts, m&m's, sugar, flour etc... Why do people do that??? I've already been into the nuts and they are going with DH to work next week. Right now they are going into the garage.

Anyway... i've been babbling forever. Going to head out to the store before i lose my motivation. Hope everyone is having a great OP day!! BBL for personals....

Vicki... sounds like your DH made out like a bandit. I gave a salon GC to my DH and he suggested that it was self serving and that i was going to use it :bcb_mad2 . Men, what can ya do?? Glad to hear you are surviving your Christmas week. Sending skinny vibes for your WI.

ShiLily... So sorry to hear about your bad WI but i'm ever so proud of how you are managing it. Sounds like it will not be long before those extra pounds are gone.

Michelle... I have an Uncle Vito that we can get after those idiots at the Dentist office for you. He might convince them to keep their appts or they could have a pair of his vintage cement shoes!! Hope that you are over and done with them really fast tomorrow. Oh, and great job of getting your workouts in.

LD... Have fun on your day with DH tomorrow!!

Nanc... I know you are out there, hope you are enjoying your family time!!

Bushra, Debbie, Terri, Mary, Amy, Laura, NDLaura, Jennifer, Tasha.... Where oh where are you??? We miss ya! And I hope i didn't miss anyone but if i did we miss you too!!

I'm off to fix some dinner and then out to the viewing for SIL's Aunt.

I'm last again.... but here and checking in. I had a good-ish day. Not perfect but definitely getting better. I don't have big plans for tomorrow which is nice. I might even end up going out for New Years Eve! We'll see- I'm not going to hold my breath, but if I can come up with a sitter, I might have a chance.
I was great yesterday but blew it last night. I had to run to the store late and I bought some chocolate on clearance. Then I ate a bunch. So today I threw away what was left, without even looking at it. I just threw away the whole bag. It wasn't good, but it could have been a lot worse. I threw away more than I ate. That's not much, but it's something.
Melody- Sorry about your gifting saboteur. I hate that. Can you send the nuts to work with your DH? Then replace them with a box of oranges or something. I have a muffin mix on my counter, I'm thinking I'll regift it to my daycare provider, or make them and freeze them so I have something to pull out in an instant if I get unexpected company. But they contain pecans so my best bet is to just get rid of them, and soon.

Vicki- I am so glad that you're back. I hope that you are feeling better. Did you get your Secret Santa gift? I hope so. I am sorry that Church was packed, ours was sadly empty. But I like to think it's because people went on Christmas Eve since it was Sunday. Probably not, though. I love to hear you talk about moving back to the US. I can't wait to meet you. Do the SDS girls get together regularly? I know that a few of you did this last summer about the time I started coming here....

LD- I hope your dog's appointment went ok. What kind of dog do you have? I love dogs but I only have a cat. There aren't any fences here (I think it's a mid-west thing, but it's just weird to me), so there aren't many dogs in town.
Good for you working out when you're not feeling well. I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Susie- LOVED the pictures. I've never seen your pictures before, the boys are adorable. You have more snow than we do and we're in Minnesota! What a weird year for weather, huh?! The soup sounds yummy, BTW

Michelle- I hope that Dentist appointment goes well.....

See you tomorrow....

Bushra- WHERE ARE YOU? You've been gone for almost 2 weeks! I looked... I hope that things are going well. We miss you!

And we also need to hear from Debbie, Laura, NDLaura, Terri, Amy and Mary... where are you guys? It's OK....

Fall down seven times, get up eight.
-Japanese proverb

You only fail when you quit starting over.

It's ok to fall off the wagon, as long as you don't let it run you over!

I hope that you aren't in need of motivational sayings, but just in case you were... Love you all.... Shi
