ARGH!!!!

Okay ladies NEVER I repeat NEVER let your dh be held responsible for any gift shopping for kids! I gave dh a list, checked it more then twice, as of today he has yet to buy anything for Christopher!!! Needless to say I went kinda apepoo on him this morning. I was quiet but he knew I was pist. What saine person waits until 2 days before Christmas to go shopping for a kid???? I took drastic measures & ordered a few things on Amazon with overnight delivery (yes, I got dh where it really hurts, the visa card:bcb_mad: ) So now both things are supposed to be here tomorrow before noon. Heck I don't care when they come as long as they are here tomorrow! Now I called dh back & told him that he has to buy one little airplane & a turkey. Yes we still don't even have our Christmas turkey (another thing dh was supposed to handle.) All I could find was a 6 pounder, yeah like that's gonna feed 6 adults & 2 kids (who eat turkey like an adult.)

Okay breathe breathe breathe....

So on my list all I have to do is wrap all Santa gifts (which I wait until the 24th when the little ones are asleep) bake about 2-3 more types of cookies for the cookie boxes that we're giving out tonight. Dh needs to take Alex's computer apart so I can paint it (it's so handy to have a dh would can build a computer!) Then I have to help Alex finish the gift he's making for gmil. I think that's about all I have to do? Oh yeah & clean the house since it looks like about 100 abombs went off in here. I'm sure there's something I've forgotten.

On the good side, the teacher's loved the gifts. I helped Alex to school with everything Fr. Bender told me I was spoiling her (I guess Germans don't give gifts to teachers?) She was really happy to have the cookie box too. Alex told me that Hr. Berkes was really happy too, he's a first year teacher so you can imagine the suprise on his face. All the kids also really liked thier class pictures. Okay it's not a professional one but it's still one for the kids to have. One of my friends said "Vicki, what would we do without you?" I just can't believe I'm the only one who thought of taking them, how sad is that?

Oh WI, I was down 300g /.661# after the week of stress I've had I'll take it! It is sooo hard to not munch out on cookies when your baking them! One good thing is Christopher is watching me like a hawk, so when something goes in my mouth he's right there waiting for his & who want's a 2yr old on a sugar rush?

Our gl was really nice too, we all got little star shaped candles. It's to help us focus during the week (Christmas is 3 days here) so we don't think about all the food that's right there. I'm keeping mine in the kitchen (I taste this & that when I cook) & then it'll move with me to the table so I always keep it in my line of sight.

Oh but to top everything off guess who just got attacked by a cold?? Arn't I lucky:bcb_grrrr

Susie~Hey my tomato soup is the same recipe (minus the splenda.) What I do normally is chop the veggies into chunks so it turns more into a stew.
Sorry I missed it but Happy Chanukah! So what's it like your first Chanukah in Israel? Is it all that you expected, I hope so.
As for Helmut, for the moment he's ok, just keeps going on about how he wants to sell all of his property & set up a charity (mainly to be used as a tax shelter, they have strict laws here.) I think he's trying to play nice since he knows it's Christmas time & that means cookie boxes!

Laura~OMG, I'm so sorry about the inlaws, but it's good to know they're alright, that's what matters. Good luck on the shopping, I wish last minute shopping on no one!
Np, just doing my job, told ya I'd be there, just think of me as your own personal stalker:bcb_drill

Nancee~HAVE A SAFE FLIGHT! Calm down woman! Wow your prepared that's for sure. When we travel I'm always the chicken with it's head cut off (maybe that's why my dad calls me daffy duck?) Hope you kept strong with all the temptations. When dh eats all the high point stuff in front of me I just rub his belly & say "I'm just rubbing the Budda belly for luck." He smiles & it makes me remember I don't want to have a belly like that!

LD~Also good luck on the last minute shopping. I kinda like doing last minute (for adults) it turns into such a savenger hunt! Funny, I think just about all men are the same, feed them & thier happy.
Oh, serious question since your the resident medi on staff here: I have an operation in about 17 days, the paperwork I got says I can't take anything with Asprin or acetylsalicylic acid in it 2 weeks before the op. Does that include Paracitimol? I want to take a cold med but I'm not sure if I should or not since it has Paracitimol in it.

ND~When I was training for my 5k I went ahead & followed the c25k program. It was pretty good, when I ran my 5k I felt good about the time I got. Okay keep in mind I had been on vacation for 3 1/2 weeks a month before (with one run the whole time.) I know if I had run on vaction (as planned) then I would have done better.
As for the stores here, they are as full as all get out! I was in line forever the other night (good thing I bought everything at the same store.) The one difference I always notice is the smile/nice factor. Germans are just learning the art of customer service.

Melody~Sorry to hear about how things are going:buddysmoo
Good luck on the dusting, I wish that was all I had to do, I'm really ashamed of the way the place looks & I know Thomas is so NOT happy with it, but then again he knows what I'm doing so he doesn't complain, I can read his mind though & those arn't happy bunny thoughts I'm reading!
Oh & you nailed me that's for sure on the "that is just WRONG!" I had to laugh about it.

Oh no I hear Christopher in the bedroom. I better run so I can get my workout in before I'm attacked.

I'm also going to see what Terry's up to, it's been way too long for her not to pop in.

Okay until later, I plan on poping in when Alex is at swim class tonight. I think dh said that he was going to stay longer so he can give Alex some extra training. I also promised Alex we would watch Rudolf today & he's going to hold me to it!

BBL...

PLEDGE FOR THE DAY: I PLEDGE TO MYSELF AND MY SISTAHS TO FOCUS ON THESE TWO THINGS TODAY:
1. WATER, WATER, WATER.......I'm adding lemon today to help it go down easier
2. WRITE, WRITE, WRITE.......I've done ok the past 2 days, need to continue. GOAL is to write EVERY day this week, that would be a first in a long time!
These are things that i have been either slacking on or wanting to increase/decrease in my plan.
LET'S FOCUS LADIES!!!

Good morning all! It's almost 11am my time, and I'm sitting with my feet up drinking coffee and surfing. I've already cleaned the kitchen, fed the boys, and have straightened the house a bit. The plumber is on the way with a new radiator/heater for the kitchen, so I need to run. Just wanted to check in.

I'll be back later, need to change out of pj's before he comes. Personals when I come back!

Hi, team.

Making this short, because I shouldn't even be on the computer. Still not finished crocheting my niece's throw for Christmas. A long story, but in essence, had to drop one project halfway through because it really, truly was ugly. I could have worked on it some more, but it wasn't getting any better. It's the second time I've had to quit the project.

The afghan I've chosen, however, is labor-intensive, uses lots of yarn, but will be beautiful -- if I get it finished.

Sounds as if most of us are stressing right now.

Sus E: I know what you mean about being determined and then it not lasting, but you think this is the time. You stay with it. This could be the time.

BTW, I don't know kosher laws at all. What, me? A Mormon know kosher?:bcb_LOL:

I'm wondering about TVP. Can it be kosher? I've thought of using that instead of the meat. Could the dairy product then be used? Just wondering.

I have to go to bed -- or at least start crocheting.

Friday is WI and I'm in a terrible state. I've been way off my points for the past two days -- not eating food porn just vast amounts of the food I usually eat in moderation. Peanut butter comes to mind. Why wouldn't it? I've stuffed myself with it for two days. It's oozing into my brain for lack of anywhere else to go.

And, I'm holding water big time. Why wouldn't I? I have done not a bit of exercise -- unless you can call twirling a crochet hook with the fingers and one wrist exercise.

I just got weighed and I've regained 5 pounds!!!! Everything I have lost these past four weeks. Gone. Kaput.

I had four meals today -- all very smart foods, but four meals. And big ones at that.

I haven't even kept my two daily goals these past two days. I can't even get a Diet Coke cake made, for heaven's sake.

I'll check in with the bad news Saturday. Or maybe next week if I can tear myself away from my crocheting.

I'm going to Mom's house after WI tomorrow. I'm fixing WW clam chowder for me and my sister, and the dellicious, harmful kind for everyone else. That's going to be the Christmas Eve dinner for the family: Clam chowder, shrimp cocktails, salmon stuffed celery, salad, and yes -- pumpkin chocolate cake.

Do you think I'm overdoing on the fish for the Christmas Eve dinner? :bcb_smile

OK. That's it. Really. Gotta go.

Not posting my daily menu for today -- who would read a five-page tome, for heaven's sake?

Not even reading anything else. Just getting back to crocheting.

It will be beautiful if it gets done. If it gets done, I'll be surprised.

Have a great holiday all.

Happy Hannakkah (sorry about the spelling, Susie) and Merry Christmas. If I don't get back to you before Christmas past, I'll think of you all.

Mary M.

Mary, Mary, Mary..........GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!!!! Damage is done, you're not happy about it, but focus on the key word DONE. That means NO MORE LADY!!! :bcb_kick::bcb_kick::bcb_kick: These are compassionate kicks............it is time to RE-FOCUS, get your head back in the game and do what YOU need to do to be healthy. In the end, you will be happier.

A GOOD POINTER FOR THOSE OF YOU HEADED INTO HOLIDAY FAMILY GATHERINGS THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR YOUR OP HEALTH:
FOCUS ON THE PEOPLE, NOT ON THE FOOD!!!

~~~Think about it....in the long run, which would you rather REMEMBER after this holiday season is over, the joke that Uncle Larry told or the dish Aunt Betty made? the story of her childhood that Grandma told or the dessert she bought from the bakery cuz she can't see the recipe anymore to make it herself? the rolled eyes that you and your cousin shared across the table or the extra serving of meat?
~~~Bottom line, when we get together with family, do we take pictures of each other or do we take pictures of the food????
............THINK ABOUT IT............

brb.........

Ok i plan on doing personals later if i have any time left in the day. But i just wanted to answer Vicki's med question before i did my errands. Yes it is ok to take Paracetamol (acetomenaphen) before surgery. However, thats about all you can take. Do not take anything with ibuprofen in it. Watch out for certain cold meds cause they may add certain things to it that can thin your blood. You need to be able to clot after surgery. That's why we tell you to refrain from aspirin and any blood thinners.

Ok ladies...i'm off to do some errands. Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Sistah's....

It is a wierd morning here. It was pouring rain at 7am, and by 8am the sun is shining and the clouds are breaking up. It should become a beautiful winter day.

Today is a billion times better then yesterday. I was sad , i overate, and i was sad but this morning is another day and i've already been out and had a good 3 mile walk. DH is home today and we are going to run a few errands this morning then i'm going to continue attacking the dust and then we are taking ds to his Dad's.

After many back and forths i think we have finally decided that we will be doing Christmas eve and we will be doing it here. If the SIL who lost her aunt wants to she is of course welcome to join us but we won't know till the last minute if she is going to be here. The thing is that this Aunt lived with them and so was a very close member of the family and it is saddest for the kids who loved her dearly and this is their first brush with death. But , knowing how Vicki was, i'm sure she would have rather that they went to a party then stay home and be sad. Whatever happens it will all probably be very low key.

In the husbands should know better dept, we ordered a computer for ds for Christmas and it has been here for a week. DH is JUST NOW looking at it and finding a discrepancy with the packing slip.... sigh.... I told him that i thougth it would be better if he had looked at it when it came and then just rolled my eyes and ignored him. If it is wrong he will need to deal with it... i can only deal with one crisis at a time and the dust is winning out!! He just told me it is the right stuff so he has been spared a fate worst than death.

OK... he is ready to run errands so i'll bbl to do personals. .... :bcb_salut

OK, I promised I would come back for personals, so here I am...........

LAURA.........sorry I missed it yesterday, but wanted to say how awful I feel for your in-laws. That's the kind of story I've always seen on tv or in the movies, where someone breaks in and steals everything from under the tree. Awful, just awful.

Vicki......thanks for asking, our first Chanukah in Israel has been fun. Chanukah is not as major of a holiday as Christmas is for you guys, but it's been fun. Essentially, EVERY holiday first here so far has been an incredible experience, one we just LIVE rather than having to create for our children. Really cool.

Mary....check in, let us know you're hanging in!

Melody.........glad you're back on track today, don't let your slip stop you!

AND TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T POSTED IN A WHILE OR IN A DAY, FOR WHATEVER REASON...........please don't make me feel like I've hijaked and hogged our site. Join me, post with me, be with the program!

Sending you all hugs............sus

well, i'm done!! i finished Xmas shopping! i've wrapped everything!!I even bought for the dog...and the neighbor's dog signed from my dog LoL It feels so good..but now i'm sooooooooo tired. In fact, my feet ache from standing on them all day. Dh called and said i should take a nap...but i'm afraid if i nap i wont wake up til tomorrow morning. I have a party tomorrow night to go to. But i'm not worried cause the hostess is on WW Core program herself.

Vicki---in the words of whatever wise woman who said it...cause we all KNOW it was a woman , "if you want something done right, you got to do it yourself".

Susie--i couldnt help but giggle at your pointer...cause i remember going to my cousin's wedding this past summer and taking pictures of the food LoL I know i know..i need to refocus lol

Melody---good for you for getting up and taking that 3 mile walk. :bcb_bravo

Hope you all have a great night.

Hey ladies...

I'm finally back home and i've conquered the dust!! Well, at least for a little while. Still have a bunch of chores to do but most of the dusting is accomplished. And, i think that all the shopping and wrapping are done as well. Tomorrow i need to finish up around here and do a bit of grocery shopping but since MIL bought sandwich, coldcut and fruit trays all i'm doing is some veggies. I need something substantial to keep me happy so i'm making my own tray.

Last year i tried to have something healthier than croissant sandwiches and hot wings and egg roll appetizers and they didn't eat much of it. So we are back to the junk food. Oh and last year at least one SIL went for fast food an hour before they came here cause they just couldn't wait that long... sigh.... I sure hope they don't do that cause i'm just going to pack this stuff up and send it home with them.

Just wanted to check in. I am more tired then i thought so i think i'm going to crash. SusE.... you are doing a great time as head cheerleader right now. Don't ever feel like you are hogging the thread... i for one am really glad you are here to keep me focused.

Till tomorrow... :bcb_salut
