Good morning ladies,
Is everyone ready to start a new week? Well I started my week by waking my lazy butt up at 5:20am and heading over to the gym. I did 45 minutes of cardio and got back home around 6:30ish. I'm feeling good but a bit tired because DBF and I stayed up until about 1am "discussing" Torre again. Jeesh...can we discussion YOUR kids for awhile. WTF? Anyway, i'm feeling good today and ready to have another GREAT OP day! NO major plans today. Just work, making dinner and then taking DS to soccer. I will probably go to the gym while he's practicing to do some chest, triceps and abs.
Have a great day and I'll check back later.

Hello Everyone! Hope you are all doing great! I woke up this morning and it just hit me I was like "in the christmas spirit" finally! I was wondering if it was going to happen this year. Christmas is my most favorite time of the year! So now Im all in a good mood. Nothing to exciting for me, I plan to have a very good week with my eating. As well as going to the gym everyday!
Melissa- How in the world do you get up so early!!!! I bet it feels good though to get your work out done so early in the morning. I might be able to get up that early too if I went to bed before 3 in the morning!

Way to go Melissa for getting up this morning and working out. I wish I belonged to a gym....It is only about 20 degrees here right now and it looks like a blizzard so I don't think I am going outside for exercise....
I plan on sticking to 25-30 pts. a day. Some form of exercise a day and keeping a postive attitude. My goal is to do this until Friday with a smile.......

Marissa: Well, to tell you the truth, I dragged my butt to the gym, not so happy about it this morning because I was exhausted. DBF and I went to bed so late! BUT, I made a goal this week and i'm going to stick to it...it's the only time I will be gauranteed to get my exercise in with no excuses. So I just have to work on going ot bed earlier, which will also be to my benefit because I like to snack late at night...so no late nights, no snacking and up early for the gym. Sounds like a good goal to me!
Amy: This time of year sucks for not being able to work out outside. But to tell you the truth, unless I go on a hike or a bike ride, I get bored with just walking around. The gym is much more motivating for me. Are there any gyms near you that are cheap to join? It might be something worth looking into! My gym membership was 10.00 a month when I joined and then I upgraded to 19.99 a month which included free tanning and a free guest any time I want and also a free family to join! I thought it was a great deal, only bad thing is no classes. I like step and kick boxing and ab classes but they don't have any. have to use DVD's for that! But you said it....a positive attitude is the most important thing to do! :D

Good morning! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. DF and I rented a forest service cabin for 2 nights, did a little skiing, and went to a small business class and had a business meeting with someone in the area. The highlight was skiing outside, late at night, under an almost full moon. The snow sparkled, the stars came out, it was absolutely silent. The snow was really powdery and nice for skiing. We had a great time!
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k242/lisarenate/LisaMolly.jpg
Melissa - It might have been hard to go to that meeting, but you did what you needed to do! Good for you! And :bcbsalute for going to the gym, it's SOOOO good for you.
Marissa - Beautiful pictures! How is core going? I'll check out your journaling.
Amy - It's apparent you have a great attitude, and that will take you far! Keep smiling as those pounds melt off. Just keep it up one day at a time. It's super cold and icy here, too, the only outside workout I would even consider would be cross country skiing!
Steph - Thinking of you...hope you had a great weekend!
Heather - It's a great motivation to lose weight before getting pregnant...I think that's awesome. Good job at your party - you rose above yet another challenging situation. Good for you.
Leslie - how was the storm? Did you make it through?

Lisa: Sounds like a GREAT time you had! The pictures are beautiful. I think i'm going to take another stab at skiing this year. We'll see how I like it the second time. I was petrified the first time 2 years ago and it was kind of hard and icy snow....not great for first time skiiers! Maybe this winter will be better!

Yeah, Melissa - I don't like hard icy snow either! Next time you try it, go on a fresh powder day and it will be an entirely different experience! Downhill or cross country???

Afternoon ladies!
I had a great weekend...I got to sleep in on Saturday and see a few movies. Very relaxing...of course went snowshoeing on sunday...I wasn't even unbearably sore this morning -- like I thought I was going to be! I'll share pics in a minute :)
Heather - How did the exercising the last few days go? How was WI? Is Core still going well?
Lisa - I wonder if folks who were 'happier with their bodies before' are also more likely to maintain? I think that wanting to do activities as a skinnier healthier person certainly would help someone maintain...so it seems like that might also be true? Beautiful pics! I'm glad that you guys had such a great weekend...It looked fabulous. Did you ski your gear in?
Leslie - Hope all went ok with the storm and you got to do some walking outside today.
Amy - I hope that the journaling thread is helping. Just stick to the plan one full day and repeat :) I like the one minute, one hour, one day at a time mentality...it really is sometimes the only thing that works :)
Melissa - I'm proud of you for going to the meeting and using it as motivation to get back on track. I'll be looking through the accountability thread to check up on you :) I hope you get to sleep early tonight! Sounds like you need some rest tonight :)
Marissa - Yes! Try journaling. IT really does make staying on program and with all healthy 8's so much easier! Nice Pics - thanks for sharing!
This is the view from the shelter we snowshoed to - This is three-fingered jack - we could see jefferson, washington, three sisters, and this one. Amazing!

Lisa: I have only went skiing once and it was downhill. I tried snowboarding once and gave up after falling at the top of the hill 100X....I just ended up sitting on the board and sledding down the mountain. LMAO!
Steph: Great pics. I've never snowshoed. Sounds exhausting! I am going to get to bed before 10pm tonight and up again at 5:15am for an hour of cardio and some abs at the gym. I talked my friend into meeting me at the gym in the AM...so that will be more motivation to get my booty out of bed. I'm sooooo not a morning person, but this is sooo much easier. I like knowing that I got an hour workout in before my day even started. That way, if my day ends up different than planned and I can't make it to the gym in the evening...I know I already got it out of the way. It's like a sigh of relief and no guilt! :D If I get the proper sleep the night before i'm sure I won't be so tired and I'll feel energized. I also heard that working out first thing in the morning is best because it gives your metabolism a jump start. That's always a plus for me!

Good morning buddies,
Well I made day 2 at the gym at 5:30am. I did 45 minutes of cardio (30 treadmill adn 15 elliptical). Feeling good. Came home adn took a nice long hot bath and I just woke DS up and now i'm getting my last minute stuff together to head off to work. Today is an extra long day. I won't be home until 7:30pm because I have extended day at school and then MATH night...won't that be fun? NOT!!!!
Last night it felt good to go to the gym while DS was at practice and just concentrate on weights....not having to worry about squeezing my 45 minutes of cardio in because I got it out of the way in the morning. I think this is going to do wonders for my weightloss, stress AND schedule. YIPEE!!! I didn't think I could get myself up so early, but so far so good.
Linda: I know how stressed you can feel about a thyroid biopsy. That was my drama the past year. I had lost 30lbs and was losing consistently and doing great and then I had a thyroid biopsy, which was inconclusive and then I had to have 1/2 removed so they could test the actual tumor. I was diagnosed with cancer - hurthle cell carcinoma and scheduled for a second surgery a month later. Then I started teaching.....then I had to go in about 5 months later for a whole body scan, and radioactive iodine treatment...which forced me to go on a low iodine diet for 2 weeks...after that misery I wanted to eat everything in sight! I"m cancer free now and all that crap is behind me...but it was alot of emotional eating, stress and worry. I hope everything turns out okay for you. ((((hugs)))))
Well ladies, i'm off to finish getting ready for work. Have a great day!

Hey guys, I'm new so I hope you don't mind if I slip in here. I am from GA and everyone here is absolutely "freezing" because the temp is around 25 expected to go to high 50s. I love the cold weather! Other teachers make fun of me because I rarely wear a coat. We wouldn't know what to do with the snow shown in your pictures.
Lisa: I am envious of your little get away. The pictures are beautiful! I guess your dog is use to the snow, he looked like he was having a good time. My black lab is afraid of getting wet when it is raining. I would love to see what he would do in the snow. Probably freak out!
Melissa: I understand the difference in hard and soft snow, but can sadly say that I have never experienced the difference. Most of the time we end up getting sleet, and it is not fun at all. Especially since we usually lose power and have to sit around all bundled up!
Today is WI, I think I did pretty good this week. We'll see. I hope all of you have a great week:D

Hi Girls,
Haven't posted in a while. I have been so sick. I thought it was strep throat, but now I have a nasty cough too. Another teacher said it sounded like walking pnemonia. Perfect. No exercising the last few days, seeing as how it hurts to breathe when all I am doing is sitting here. I am at work, but am going to make sub plans for the rest of today and tomorrow. Then go to the doctor to see what is wrong with me. Have been OP though, considering it hurts to swallow, and my main diet has been tea and hot water for the last few days. Will keep you all updated. Just wanted to check in.

Hello Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well! I'm pretty much bored. Just doing some laundry. Normally Im off work today but I have to go in at 4. I guess because I requested this weekend off work for DH's Christmas Party at work. It's not so hard working at the restaurant anymore as far as eating goes. It was really hard at first but now...I find healthy things to eat there like grill chicken and veggies. Plue I have been drinking a full glass of water like 20 minutes before my meals, that way im not as hungry. It helps, PLUS it helps me get my waters in since that always seems to be my downfall! As far as core is going. Im not really liking it. I really don't know if its for me. I really liked flex. I think Im going to call the Dr. and talk to him about it. Im wondering if I could just stay on Flex and eat low carb like he is telling me too and just count points on the low carb stuff I eat. And Im going to the gym 5 days a week. I don't see why he would have a huge problem with that.... Let me know what you all think.
Lisa- Those pictures are awesome. I bet you had an amazing time! I am so jealous of all the snow!
Steph- Snowshoeing sounds like so much fun. I bet it was a good workout too! The pictures are great!
Leslie- Sorry to hear about the tests. Let us know how the results go on Thursday. I just recently found out I was diabetic. It has seriously changed everything. But maybe its not such a bad thing in some ways...cause it sure has got me focused on getting healthy!
Melissa- Im proud of you gettin gup so early and getting your workouts in! I agree with you it will contribute greatly to your weightloss! Maybe if I could start getting up at least by 7am instead of 11 everyday and get on somekind of a routine it would help me too! :)
Liz- Welcome! Glad to have ya here! I live on the coast of NC and we never hardly see snow either. I think the last time we had a really good snow during christmas time was back in 1990! And its OK to be forgetful early in the morning! Maybe try creating a signature, that way your name will be there everytime you post automatically. :)
Heather- Sorry to hear you are sick. Definatly concentrate on getting yourself better! Let us know what the doctor says.

Welcome to the group Liz! We'd love to have you join our group! I would love to live in a warmer climate. Not too hot, but Virginia would be nice. I love Fall sooo much but HATE driving in the snow and shoveling. YUCK!! Post often so we get to know you. Just a little introduction: My name is Melissa and i'm a 33 year old single mother of a 10 year old boy. He is big time into sports so I spend most of my time running him around to practices and games. I live in the Springfield area of Massachusetts and i'm a first year teacher. I've been donig WW since September 21, 2005 and then had some serious medical issues (Thyroid Cancer) I had lost 30pounds and then went through 2 surgeries and radioactive iodine and gained most of the weight back. I was doing it at home on my own with no meetings but just decided to join WW about a month ago. I've finally found myself back to WW and BCB mode. Nice to meet you!
Heather: Sorry to hear your so sick. I hope you feel better soon. Don't worry about the exercise, you'll do it when you feel better. Now, you just need to concentrate on feeling better and resting.
Marissa: I'm glad that the eating issue has gotten better at the restaurant. There are plenty of healthy choices we just need to have the willpower to chose them over the tasty bad choices. Glad you have overcome that obstacle. Eating water before meals is always a good way to feel more full too. Good job...keep it up! I don't see why the doctor would have problems with you following that...as long as you keep to the low carb and not so much sweets it should be fine right?
Well one of my students went home sick a few minutes ago and i'm down to 2 kids....one who is whining and refusing to finish his math. He's complaining everything is sooo complicated when it is NOT at all. The other child went to the office with my para to put up the Christmas tree. Looks like an easy afternoon. Exactly what I needed before Math Night! I really don't want to get into my Science or Social Studies plans when the other student will miss them and then I'll have to teach it over. Oh well. We'll do it tomorrow!
Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon ladies!
Well last nights WI was good - lost 1.5. I have now lost 20% of my starting weight - I'm down 54 lbs and more than halfway to my goal weight :) I was happy. I'd like to be down 6 more by January 8th - I know I can do it!
Amy - I grew up in MI, I came to oregon for graduate school in 2002. After getting my Masters I got a job as a faculty research assistant doing wildlife habitat analysis at Oregon State and will be here doing that for at least another year orso. You guys SHOULD head out west! What does he have in mind?
Melissa - from all accounts, the first snowboarding trip always sounds horrendously painful :) Glad the gym was good - I have heard that more exercise injuries occur in morning workouts, so make sure that you stretch well and give yourself a long warmup period...
Leslie - Yay for a lb! Sorry to hear about the need for a biopsy - let us know the results when you get them... Let me know if you need instructions for how to get the picture online and then on bcb....
Liz - welcome! Great username! How was your WI today? Tell us a little about yourself :)
Heather - oh no! I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly. What did the Dr say?
Marissa - glad that work is going so much better. Yes, snowshoeing was pretty intense - I earned 15 APs on Sunday :) I enjoyed every bite of the extra food I ate that night!
Lisa - you around? Hows it going?
Jo - Are you here? How are you doing girly?
Hope everyone is having good OP days!

Liz, welcome! I hope you have a great WI tonight! My name is Lisa and I live in N Idaho with my fiancee and dog. I work at a Univeristy as a computer geek and enjoy outdoor stuff like skiing and kayaking. Indoor stuff like scrapbooking and cooking is good too. How is WW going? Any challenges we can help with?

Steff, that job sounds like a dream. What did you go to graduate school for? Where in Michigan did you grow up? Do you plan to stay out there or move back to Michigan?
My in laws go out west traveling for about a month every few years. My husband went as a child and has quit a bit of family there. He has always wanted to go back. We lived in N. Carolina for 4 years and then Europe for 4. We moved back to michigan in 98. We traveled so much in Europe that we have not went anywhere except up north to the cabin since we have been home.

Good morning ladies,
Well, officially noon. I had a great morning at the gym. Did 45 minutes of cardio (30 minutes on elliptical and 15 minutes on bike and then did 15 minutes of strength - abductor, adductor (thighs), rear delt and chest flys and then 25 full situps with the 10lb ball...OUCH. )
I have had a great OP week and i'm feeling good! :jump_jack This morning I was down 1.5 so far...let's hope it's gets better than that.
Steph: congrats on being down 1.5. That's awesome!! 20% is awesome, i'm working on my first 10% all over again...BUMMER! I'm working on it though!
Lisa: Good job getting your workout in. Doesn't it feel good to get it out of the way?
Amy: What did you do in Europe for 4 years? That's sooo awesome. I want to travel and see Eruope so badly. NOw that I'm making decent money I'm going to work on that goal. A little easier when DS is a little older.
Well i'm off to teach math. TTYL.

MELISSA- My husband was in the Air force for 9 years. We got married right out of high school and he joined.First N. Carolina then German. We were 22 and 23 when we moved there with 2 kids. We went every where while there. If you get to go I would suggest Austria. It is my favorite. We went back 5xs. If you have seen the Sound of Music then you know what it looks like. We actually went to the city that the movie was filmed. The whole country has not changed at all since then. It is spectacular...

Good afternoon ladies...today is a good day, I've eaten only core things and I'm feeling good about that. Tonight is veggie lasagna made with WW lasagna noodles...a new recipe for me. Hope it's good.
Last night DF and I had so much fun cross country skiing around our place at night. He is trying to get me more comfortable going down hills so we practiced that. He took some night pictures of our house that turned out really cool...I will try to post one later.
Marissa - I checked out your journaling...and I have a suggestion: you might want to try some of the core carbs to replace bread. It looks like you're eating bread at least once a day...and that will use up your WPAs quickly. The core carbs can be really good...but they do require a little cooking. For instance, here is a good core pancake recipe. You could make a bunch of these, freeze them, and use them to make sandwiches. http://www.healthdiscovery.net/forums/showthread.php?t=100682
Just trying to help...core could be tough if you eat bread very often. If you can replace the bread with core carbs, I'll bet core will be much easier. On a more positive note - it sounds like you are doing great at your restaraunt job! The water intake is awesome...keep it up! And I love your new pictures and avatars!
Steph - Congrats on your loss this week! Awesome. Your snowshoeing pictures rock...such beautiful scenery. Laughed about the beast...has he destroyed anything lately? We didn't have to ski in our gear to this cabin...although we're going to a different cabin in January where we will ski our gear in a sled - that's a really good workout...except when I make DF pull the sled with me sitting on top of the gear ;)
Amy - Good job journaling and staying within points! We knew you could do it! Stick with this group and you will certainly reach your goals. I also loved Austria...the countryside is gorgeous and the city of Vienna was so much fun. We only spent about 3 days there...but it was great. You're so fortunate to have been there 5 times! Do you have any pictures? We would love to see them... :D
Leslie - Congrats on losing a pound! I think that's awesome, any loss is a success...good for you. Let us know your biopsy results tomorrow...we're thinking of you.
Melissa - I love reading about you going to the gym! So motivating. Helps me remember how important it is for me to go, too. I hope you can go to Europe! That would be awesome. Maybe DS would like to go with you (lucky guy)!
Heather - Sorry you're so sick...I hope you feel better soon.
Jo - Where are you? How is everything going? Haven't heard from you in awhile! We miss you!

Afternoon ladies :)
Not much to tell from here. Dipped a little far into my flex points for the first day of my week last night. I will have to be extra good the next few days to make sure that I save flex points for this weekend!! Not like anything really exciting is happening...but we are having a bunco party on friday (a dice game that apparently is fun?), a holiday party saturday night and a big 6 or 8 mile hike on Sunday - yay!
I am finding myself extra busy - I think I'm compensating for missing Shelby...thinking the less time I sit around the less I'll miss her?
Lisa - great pic! It kind of looks like you are a ghost on my screen though - like you pant leg is see through...weird. Maybe it is just your gaiters happen to hit at the exact point that the snowline is at?
How big of hills does he have you going down? Hills are my favorite part cross countrying!
Max hasn't caused much recent destruction - except when my roommate decided to give him a little test and left him 10 minutes unsupervised. He got into things and further proved that he can't be trusted yet.
Amy - My Masters was in Forest Ecology...I grew up in East Lansing...where did you say you live again? You are lucky to ahve gotten to live abroad! Very cool.
Melissa - Just keep up the good work. If you keep working it as well as you ahve been, I'm sure this will be a great week for you!
Marissa - Good job resisting the cakes! Enjoy biggest loser :)
Hope everyone has great nights!

Good evening ladies,
I have to tell you that I really LOVE This working out in the morning stuff. It gives me energy and so much less stress worrying about when i'm going to get my workout in. I know, I know....I keep saying it. But i'm really happy that I can actually follow through with it and i'm not making excuses to stay in bed. YAY ME!!! :jump_jack
DBF is supposed to come over tonight. But we'll see if he's too busy or not. HE's got a bunch of stuff going on with trying to sell his house and make more money finding a new job. So if he can't, I'll understand...besides 2 hour special biggest loser is on so he won't get much attention from me between the hours of 8pm and 10pm anyway. LOL!!! Priorities!!!
I am making a nice healthy dinner. Cod filets w/ lemon and bread crumbs in the oven....only 1.5pts per filet after their cooked (including the breadcrumbs) I figured out all the points with the numbers on the labels. :D Some yummy rice (white but still...i'll take the 5 pts per cup tonight) and green beans with herbs and olive oil. Tasty veggies and healthy oil in one!
Marissa: Great job avoiding the cake. I'm not a huge cake person but I know avoiding cake for a cake lover is HUGE!!! KUDOS!!! That sleeping schedule is a little messed up. How do you think you can try to normalize it? Any ideas?
Amy: Thanks for the tip. Sounds amazing! My ex boyfriend was a man who traveled to Europe once a year for a week. New place he would pick every year. When I was with him he had done it twice. He went to Austria the first time and LOVED it....He got me some gifts from Prague! So hearing the stories and seeing the pictures I defintely want to go there. The next time he went to England...another place I would love to see. But my all time dream European vacation would be to visit my family homeland, Scottland, and to see Italy. My son's soccer team may take a trip to Portugal in the future to play some soccer. That would be GREAT!!!
LIsa: I will definitely take DS to Europe one of these days. I love the house. It's gorgeous. So outdoorsy! LUcky you! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad my gym stories help to motivate you.
Steph: Sounds like some fun plans you have for yourself. I'd like to get a nice hike in soon. Haven't hiked enough this year.
Well i'm off to eat my yummy dinner. TTYL.

I HAVE LOST MY FIRST 2 LBS............YIPEEEEE!!!!!!:headover:
Lisa- loved the photos of the house. The house and snow are beautiful. I love rustic. We spend a lot of time up at a family cabin in upper michigan. We are surrounded by a national forest and are right on a lake. It is my favorite place in the world.
Melissa- Congratulations on your morning workouts. That takes so much discipline and motivation. You should be real proud of yourself...
Steff- I live in Swartz Creek which is near Durand, Flint, Davison. In that area. Did you go to MSU? My daughter is determined that she is going to State. She is taking all honors classes right now her sophmore year. She wants to get into the Vet program but it is almost impossible. I don't think I have ever heard of your degree. Can you explain it?

Hi Girls!
Happy to report that I am feeling much better! Took the last two days to recuperate, and I am back at work today. Not quite back to 100% but feeling okay! Now I need to focus on making good choices with my eating! Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I hardly ate anything, but then about Tuesday it hit me that I was starving, and I ended up eating all of my WPA in one day! Also had some not gread food choices, so I need to be extra good for the rest of the week. But I can do it! I am just glad I feel better. I went to the Dr. and the strep test was negative (even he was shocked since I have had 5 cases of it in my class in the last few weeks) but he gave me some cough syrup with codeine which has been wonderful. I think that and the sleep and rest I have gotten have worked wonders!
Amy:
Awesome job on your 2 lbs lost!
Melissa:
Your dinner sounded wonderful! And I don't even like fish! I am proud of you and your workouts this week. I am excited to see how much you lose!
Steph:
20%!! Woohoo! You are amazing! You are a real inspiration to me!
Will do more personals later! I love you all!

 HI GIRLS,
I FOUND NOTHING OUT ON BIOPSY TODAY. GIRL TOLD ME IN OFFICE IT MIGHT BE 1 TO 2 WEEKS. I CANNOT LET MYSELF FALL OFF THE WAGON AND EAT AFTER ALL THIS WORK. I'LL BE OK. JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW.
IT IS FINALLY SNOWING HERE AND COLD. PUTTING ME IN XMAS SPIRIT BUT HAVEN'T DECORATED YET. COGI WATCHING SNOW FLAKES AND SQUIRRELS OUT THE WINDOW WITH HER HEAD GOING ROUND AND ROUND. I JUST LOVE HER.
I MADE THE BEST SPAGHETTI SQUASH PIE. MADE TWO. ONE WITH TURKEY AND ONE WITH VERNISON FOR DH. PUT MORE IN IT THAN THE ONE ON LINE. IT IS VERY FILLING. THEY JUST PUT IN A LITTLE BIT OF TOMATO AND I USED HUNT SPAGHETTI SAUSE IN CAN CAUSE IT IS REAL LOW. 50 CAL AT LEAST YOU THINK YOU ARE REALLY GETTING SOMETHING.
PROBABLY WILL WORK OUT INSIDE TODAY. TO WINDAY OUT. SEEMS LIKE THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES ME KEEP LOSING. I AM DOING GOOD WITH IT. STRONGER EVERYDAY. THOUGHT ABOUT SMALL WEIGHTS FOR ARMS AND WILL HAVE TO SEE IF I CAN TOLERATE THE PAIN UNDER SHOULDER BLADE WHERE PLATE IS. WE'LL SEE.
STEPH I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD DIRECT ME TO GETTING PICTURE ON LINE. I KNOW SO VERY LITTLE COMPUTER WISE. THANKYOU FOR OFFERING.
MELISSA I AM REAL PROUD OF YOU GETTING YOUR HEELS DUG BACK IN. IT IS DIFFICULT TO START ALL OVER AGAIN AFTER YOU REACHED THAT
POINT. YOU HAVE TO STRUGGLE TWICE AS HARD. THAT SHOW YOU HAVE GUTS AND STAMIA.
CRAZYHIPER YOU SEEM LIKE YOU ARE GETTING IN THE SWING OF THINGS. I LOVED YOUR WEDDING PICTURE. KEEP LISTENING TO THESE GIRLS. THEY HAVE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.
KAYAKERGIRL WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WINTER PICTURE. THOUGHT ABOUT THAT PLACE ALOT IN MY MIND. YOU LOOKED SO FREE AND HAPPY IN THAT SNOW AND SO DID DOG. I JUST LOVE ANIMAL PEOPLE. YOU HAVE COME A FAR WAY TO BE ABLE TO EXCERCISE LIKE YOU DO. THAT TAKES PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND I SEE YOU HAVE ALOT OF THAT. YOU GO GIRL. KEEP BEING HAPPY.
I MUST GET SOMETHING DONE BEFORE DH GETS HOME. TALK TO YOU LATER. LESLIE

Hello ladies,
Sorry I didn't post this morning but with the gym, shower, getting DS ready and talking to DBF before we left I had no time to get on the computer. I did my 4th gym AM in a row and it still feels great. BUT, DBF and I were up until 1am "discussing" yet again KIDS!!! Sick of it!! I felt bad though because he saw an old FEM post that I kept losing and put into word so I wouldn't lose it again a few months back. It was after I had gotten off the phone with him and was venting...talking about him being jealous because his son is overweight, lazy and sits in front of the TV all day and my son is slender, athletic and has tons of friends. He was pissed. I can understand that, and I felt bad, but after our long discussion he realized that it was out of anger and hurt from what he had been saying about Torre and that he has to realize that what he says about my son hurts too just like what he read I said about his son hurt him. He said it didn't hurt him and it was my opinion and I was entitled to it, but I don't believe that. I also said that whether those things are true or not, they are things that have come out of his own mouth about his son and it hurts to hear it come out of someone else's mouth. But regardless I NEVER treat his kids differently than my own when they are here and he DOESN"T do that with Torre. We are both so sick of arguing about the kids but he has soooo much going on emotionally that I can only hope that when he deals with his finances, finding a new job and selling his house that is going into foreclosure...he will be less stressed and less impatient. We'll see!!!
So, before I was sidetracked, DBF kept me up until 1am last night so I only had 4 hours of sleep and still got up to go to the gym. I did 35 minutes cardio (20 min treadmill, 15 on bike) I was just too pooped to do 45. I also did 25 minutes of strength - bicep curls, preacher curls, military presses, lateral presses and 30 full sit ups with the 10lb ball. OUCH! My legs (inner thighs especially) were sooo sore this morning from strength yesterday! :strong:
I stepped on the scale this morning when I got in the shower I was down to 221. I was at 226.8 on Saturday. WOW!!! I was naked this morning on the scale so we'll see how much of my weight is actually clothes. But that was an awesome thing to see. I wear a very light t-shirt and very light sweats to weigh in so maybe it will only be a 1 lb difference. *fingers crossed*
Sorry so long winded. I'll do personals tonight. I have a teachers conference w/ torre's teacher to get his report card today at 4:15.
XOXO

I'll do my real post in a minute --
Photo instructions for Leslie...
Ok – so you need to have a photo saved on your computer (or on a disk or cd or something).
You’ll register for a photobucket.com account (this seems to be the most compatible with bcb)
When logged in to photobucket…
Under upload images & videos –using the browse button, choose the image from your computer to upload. After selecting the file then you’ll click uploading options underneath and choose that the max image size be website, email (320 x 240) so that they aren’t huge pictures on bcb.
Click the large upload button below
Scroll down and you’ll see the picture you just uploaded.
Highlight the words in the url box under the photo and copy them
Go to bcb and start your reply to whatever thread you want the picture in.
At the top of the reply box there is a small yellow icon with a mountain in it. Click that and paste the url into the space in the popped up window and click ok.
It should put the picture into your reply where your cursor was.
Hope it works!!

Afternoon ladies...
Having a sort of blah day - although I've gotten a lot of work done so far today - I am just less chipper than I normally am...
I am beginning to wonder if what I have thought was allergies for the last few weeks is actually a lingering cold that is wearing me down slowly. I have been so tired the last few days.
But - I am still OP and stickin to the plan. I haven't exercised as much as usual this week, but that just means I don't get to have 'treats' for my APs :)
Melissa - glad that you are kicking so much butt this week! Keep it up girly! You can do it! I'm sorry to hear about more drama with Bob...I hope you guys worked it out and all is ok now...
Amy - great loss! Yay! I actually went to UM...I am a die hard wolverine :) Vet school has become increasingly hard to get into...I think its great that she is working towards her goals already! Hmmm - how to explain my degree in a concise manner? I study the patterns and processes in forests - how they look, how the operate, how they sustain themselves and how they change through time and with different disturbances. Essentially I study how forests work...does that help?
Heather - glad you are feeling better! I KNOW you can finish off this week OP - just think of how motivating that will be to know that you stayed OP even when you were sick and had a bump in the road - Very powerful motivation there :)
Leslie - Sorry that you didn't get the results like you'd hoped...keep us informed about what you hear...Keep up the good work this week! I know you can do this. Just one decision at a time :)
Lisa - You still overworked? :) hope you are still feeling extra super good about how the week is going foodwise :)
Jo and Marissa - Hope all is well with you!

That degree sounds like something a "Michigander" would get. Did you spend a lot of time up north growing up. We love it up there and spend a lot of time in the woods.
AND HOW CAN YOU BE A MICHIGAN FAN GROWING UP IN LANSING. I AM SURPRISED YOU MADE IT OUT ALIVE.......

Hi Ladies! A quick post to all my online friends. I have been very busy at work...a lady in my department will be moving away, so I have been cross training on a lot of her stuff. She does a lot and I am learning a LOT.
Unfortunately the snow has started to melt so no more nighttime skiing at home for awhile. It was fun while it lasted. :D
Amy - YES for the 2 pounds! That is awesome! We knew you could do it. Your cabin in upper Michigan sounds heavenly...I would love a cabin by a lake.
Heather - Glad you're feeling better! We know you can hang in there for the rest of the week OP.
Leslie - Just hang in there...the results will come. Eating will not make them come faster. I hope you can do some small weights for your arms...and the walking is wonderful exercise, too, and much more than a lot of americans do on a daily basis! Spaghetti squash pie - yummmmmmy.
Melissa - Sorry DB kept you up late! I can sort of relate to DB finding your venting post. Once a boyfriend read my journal and found out some things about him I wasn't happy about that I hadn't shared with him. It was hard for me, he was upset. Sometimes it's good when the truth comes out, I guess. MAJOR kudos for going to the gym anyway, after just a few hours of sleep...you are majorly dedicated!
Steph - Sorry you aren't feeling so great - I guess we all have one of those days every once in awhile. The week is going very well food wise - I really love the planned out dinners. Last night was veggie lasagna which was 5 WPAs beacuse I put some real cheese on top. I think that's the key to staying within my WPAs on core...the dinner planning. Thanks to you guys I discovered it and implemented it and it's helped a lot. I love this group!

Oh Amy - believe me! I've heard about it for years!
My parents both worked (now retired) at MSU, my sisters both got bachelors and advanced degrees from State - I was officially dubbed the black sheep :) I was a spartan fan growing up..but switched over to the 'right' side when I went to undergrad!!
My parents have a second house up near Grayling now - they love it! I've only gotten to visit once though since they bought it... Where is your cabin Amy?
Lisa - Its cool that you are learning new stuff at work...I like those kinds of days...much more interesting! Glad that planning dinners is working so well! I found that I planned them and then don't follow my plan...but at least it means I have good options to start with :)

Hey ladies,
Well things with DBF ironed themself out AGAIN. I'm about to go to bed to get some rest for the gym again in the morning. I"m not going to work tomorrow because DS has the day off from school - teacher conferences. So I can come home after the gym and get some extra sleep. YIPEE!!!
I had another good day. I was a little tired going on 4 hours sleep, but it was good. I made a not so great choice for dinner tonight because i planned on going to the movies with a friend, DS and her DS and we were rushing. I had a teacher conference with Torre's teacher and had to eat something or I would have overdone it at the movies. So I went to mcdonalds and went over my points (including AP's and left over WAP's) by 2.5points. I ate at 4:30pm and then went to the movies and didn't have one thing there.
But at about 10pm I got really hungry and satisfied that hunger with some townhouse crackers. so I used another 3points that i didn't have. I guess it could ahve been worse but hopefully it wont sabatoge my efforts from teh week. I"ll just do a double workout tomorrow before weigh in saturday morning. ONe tomorrow morning and then more cardio at night when DS is doing basketball practice.
Lisa: Yikes! Yes I think it's better that he got a little taste of his own medicine and had to hear a few things abotu his son that maybe he didnt' want to hear. but we got over it which is good. Sorry no more night time skiing for a whiel, but i'm sure it will snow again soon.
Steph: I never knew what your degree was for. Sounds very interesting! Sorry you feel crummy but we all have days and weeks like that. Hope you come out of your funk soon. :buddysmoo
Leslie: Sorry you have to wait so long for your results. I know how painful the wait can be. Don't fall back girl...you can do this. Be positive, think positive. YOu can get through this! ((((hugs))))
Heather: Glad to hear you don't have strep. It's tough being a teacher because we always get all the little illnesses that pass through our classroom. Glad you were able to avoid this one.
Talk to you all tomorrow.
XOXO

Good morning ladies,
This is sooo unusual for me. DS has no school today and I took the day off to stay home with him and it's 7:40am and I've been up for more than 2 hours. LOL. Whoddathunk? I still got up and met my friend at the gym and I got in an extra 30 min work out because I didn't have to rush home and get ready for work. It felt awesome! I did 30 minutes on the treadmill, 15 on bike and 15 on elliptical. I like to switch it up because I get bored. Then I did 30 minutes of strength concentrating on back and triceps....lateral pull down, seated row, rear deltoid maching, seated tricep press and the tricep cable press. then Last but now least I did my 100 crunches. :strong: I felt I needed an extra 30 minutes today because I went over my points by 5.5 yesterday. I don't feel too guilty about it because it was only 2.5 because I ate dinner early...then at like 10pm I was STARVING and just ate some townhouse crackers and used 3 points I didnt' have. But it could have been much worse. Last week I would have opened up the bag of doritoes in the kitchen and ate half the bag. So i'm happy...and I did an extra 30 minutes today. :D
Well i'm home today so I'll be checking in from time to tim. BBL!
XOXO

Hi Ladies, it's been an OK day today. Worked out, that was good. Something has been weighing heavy on my mind for the last couple months...I'm having doubts about getting married. We are scheduled to get married in June. I have not spent one dollar on anything for the wedding, and haven't booked one thing. I'm worried our lack of communication and emotional intimacy is going to make the marriage difficult. I'm going to talk to him this weekend about it...wish me luck.
My eating has been good...at least this isn't making me emotionally overeat like it probably would have a year ago.
I hope everyone has a good weekend...we are going to hang out at home. A friend is coming to visit for a night from Boise...that will be fun.
Have a good weekend everyone...stay OP.

Afternoon ladies :)
I am so eager to go home...I might just have to cut out early...
I'm ready for hte weekend to be here...I need to be diligent about my points this weekend with so many parties etc going on....I know I can do it...I just have to WANT it badly enough. I'll report back Monday.
Melissa - glad that you have a plan to deal with going over points...I know that WW doesn't technically allow you to use APs on adjacent days, but I say that burning those calories after eating them is better than just eating them...
Amy - I don't think that I'll ever live in MI again - I just love other parts of the country more...Great job on the 4.0!
Leslie - I actually want to do a hike with a 54 lbs pack...see how it goes...yikes! Take care of yourself this weekend...We know that you'll see a good loss :)
Lisa - Sorry to hear that has been on your mind...Hope that you two have a good talk about how you are both feeling. I am so happy to hear though that you haven't reacted by using food for comfort! What a great victory!

As a side note - do any of you keep track of your body measurements?
I noticed that I had lost 54 lbs and 24 inches...Which averages out to be: for every 10 lbs I lose, I lost, on average, 4 inches (from bicep+chest+waist+hip+thigh+calf)
How does this compare with your numbers?
Just curious - I'm really interested to see how these change through time/weights

Steff- I think it is wise not to come back to MI. Things are so bad here right now. Our economy is one of the worst in the country. We know tons of people that are loosing jobs. It is really sad. We sometimes regret moving back. Our kids wanted to be by family though.

Good morning my fellow Fabulous Fems!
I am very happy to report that I lost 6lbs this week. Yes, you read correctly, 6 ugly pounds gone FOREVER!!! My early morning routine has paid off and I will definitely be continuing it. It stinks that I lost 6lbs but didn't get to get my first 5lb bookmark yet. That is becuase I started WW at 222.2 and then gained a bunch of weight...NOT GOOD! So now I am in the negative again THANK GOD!!! I am now at -1.4 on my paper and maybe I can get my bookmark NEXT week. That's my goal! to lose 3.6 this week. :strong:
Steph: I will have to measure myself again this weekend and let you know. I did measure myself at 235 and then when I had lost the 30lbs I had lost 20.5 inches total. 5" in chest, 7" in waist, 3" hips, 2.5" upper arm, 2" thigh, and 1" calf. I'm sure I gained inches since I gained 15lbs of that weight back. So I will defintiely update my measurements. If I divide 20.5 by 3 (3 x 10 = 30lbs) then it says I lost almost 7" per 10lbs. I was also working out then like I did this past week. I was at the gym every day after work for about an hour - an hour and a half, did abs EVERY day and did cardio and weights...I know that contributed to my loss of inches. So that's what i'm going for again.
Amy: I can relate. I've saved all my WAP's for dinners out before and every time I do it...it's too much and I feel sick. We are not used to eating the greasy food we usually choose and then we suffer afterwards.
Lisa: I'm so sorry to hear about your feelings. I know that relationships can be hard work. Communication is definitely the key. It's good you've got these feelings BEFORE hand and you can talk to eachother about them before taking the biggest step in your life. It will be fine. Just talk to him about your feelings and i'm sure it will work itself out.
Leslie: Sorry you haven't heard anything on your test yet. Stay strong, it will be fine. Glad to hear your not using it as an excuse to get off the wagon. STay op and you'll feel better!
Well DS has a basketball game at 12pm and then i'm off to DBF's sister for our thanksgiving dinner. They were out of town so they wanted to do something together when they got back. I"m not worried because most likely I'll just be eating turkey, mashed potatoes and a veggie. We won't be there all day to bring on the usual munching on tons of appetizers, etc.
Have a great weekend.
XOXO

okay, I just measured myself with my son's help. I have 13.5 inches lost gained back 7 inches with my 15lb gain which makes sense. Right now it's almost a lb an inch...LOL. I'm at 14.2lbs lost and 13.5 inches lost!

Where is everybody? Well i'm here and had alot of fun yesterday. DS won his basketball game and then at DBF's sisters house we had fun...didn't leave until 11pm. I ate too many cookies and chocolate but still managed to salvage 10WAP's for the rest of my week.
I did the biggest loser DVD workout today and earned 3 AP's. So I got 60 minutes in today and feel better about last night. I wasn't going to do anything until Monday morning...but I felt like I had to.
DS has a basketball game in about an hour so I have to jump in the shower. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great and fun Weekend! Mine has been pretty good. Had today off work. Well I requested it off because we had DH's Christmas Party last night for work and I knew we would be there really late and I just didnt want to have to get up early to go in. I did Ok with my eating last night, im sure I could have done better but im not upset with myself. They pretty much only had healthy things to eat except for the mash potatoes which I had a very small portion and then my husband ate one of the brownies but we cut it in to 4 quarters and I only ate a little quarter and I drank water all night. So not to bad, plus I worked out twice yesterday once before work, and once right after work before the party. Other than that, he won a 50 dollar gift certificate to Clawson's, which is this really awesome restaurant on the Beaufort waterfront. And he also got a 25 dollar gift certificate to wal mart. They give away so much stuff there its amazing. I mean they give away all kinds of gift certificates and shirts and dishes sets, and surround sound systems, computers, laptop. Its a lot of fun! Not to mention I know I burned some calories out on the dance floor! :headover:
Melissa- That is great! That is a lot of inches lost. I think i will have the lady at the gym measure me again here within a week or two. Where did you get the Biggest Loser DVD workout thing? That sounds really fun.

MELISSA, YOU ARE SO COMICAL AND YOU ALWAYS MAKE MY DAY. WOULD YOU REALLY WANT TO DO WHAT THESE PEOPLE DO ON THE SHOW???LOLO THAT'S ALL YOU WOULD GET DONE EVERYDAY. HOW HAVE YOU BEEN. SEEMS AS THOUGH YOU ARE IN GOOD MOOD. THAT'S GREAT.
IT WAS ALMOST 50 HERE TODAY. I AM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF EVERYDAY I CN WALKING OUTSIDE UNTIL WEATHER IS SO BAD I CAN'T. I WALK IN A REALLY PEACEFUL CEMETARY THAT THEY TAKE REALLY GOOD CARE OF. IT IS ABOUT 2 AND HALF MILES AROUND. I WALKED LAST 2 DAYS FOR 1 HR. NOT TOO SHABBY SEEING THAT 4 MONTHS AGO I COULD ONLY MANAGE 15 MIN. I GOT REALLY TIRED THOUGH. WEIGH-IN IS TOMORROW AND THAT STUPID SCALE HAS NOT BUDGED. IT IS STARTING TO IRRITATE ME. LOLO.
I TRIED TO MOTIVATE A YOUNGER FRIEND OF MINE THAT IS ONLY 44. GOT HER TO START WW BY GETTING HER KIT AND WATER BOTTLE AND SHOWING HER WHAT TO DO. SHE WAS ALL FIRED UP AT FIRST.
SHE EVEN STARTED WALKING WITH ME. THAT LASTED ABOUT 3 WALKS. THEN ALL KINDS OF EXCUSES. SO NOW I AM BY MYSELF AGAIN. MAYBE THAT IS A GOOD THING CAUSE I CAN GO MY OWN PACE, LISTEN TO MUSIC, AND GO AND COME AS I PLEASE. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE SOMEONE TO VENT WITH. I HAVE ALOT OF ACQUAINTENECS BUT ONLY A COUPLE OF SPACED FRIENDS AND THEY DON'T LIVE NEAR BY. I GET USED TO DOING EVERYTHING BY MYSELF.
WEATHER GOING TO BE IN 50'S ALL WEEK. NOT TOO SHABBY. I WILL PROBABLY DO MY XMAS DECORATING TOMORROW. DON'T DO A WHOLE LOT. JUST ENOUGH TO FEEL WARM AND HAPPY.
HOPE TO HEAR THIS WEEK ABOUT MY TEST. I'M DOING OK BUT I JUST WANT TO GET IT OVERWITH.
MUST GO AND CLEAN UP DISHES AND WATCH A LITTLE TV WITH DH. HE DIDN'T GET A BUCK. TURNED ONE DOWN CAUSE HE WANTED A BIGGER ONE. THAT OK CAUSE HE SURE HAS GOTTEN ALOT OF THEM OVER THE YEARS. HAVE A GOOD ONE LELSIE:p

My weekend was fine. I did get real sick Friday night going out to dinner with my husband. We had a orchestra concert yesterday for my niece. Afterwards, my father n law took the whole family out to dinner. I did not eat a thing. I was so afraid of getting sick like I did Friday. It was killer watching everyone having italian and steak and then dessert...
I weigh on our scale at work. It is the slider kind they use at Drs. office. I didn't loose any over weekend but I didn't gain any either....I don't go to meetings so this is my only weigh in. I am going to make my weigh in days Fridays....
Tomorrow is a christmas pot luck at work....It is always great food so I will really have to watch it this week.............
Have a good day ladies.
