View Full Version : All I want for Christmas...

So, now that Thanksgiving is just one week away, that means Christmas is right around the corner as well. It is SO difficult to maintain your weight, let alone lose during the holidays. What is it that you want to accomplish by Christmas? Do you want to lose weight or maintain? Do you want to be in a certain size by the time Santa comes? Just name it, and we will keep track of our goals and progress here!

For Christmas this year, I want to maintain a slow loss of 0.5 pounds a week or more. Christmas is about 6 week away, so that would be only a loss of 3 pounds, putting me at 167.4 pounds. That's all I want!!

This is scary.:p But I would really like to lose another 4lbs. so I will be at -10lbs. I'm doing WWAW and my cycle ends on Jan. 3. I would really love my sticker on that last day.

It might not sound like a lot, but I have not been losing fast (for lots of reasons). I think I can do this. But it's scary to write it down on paper (or the internet, whatever)!

I want to lose as much as I can by Christmas...I'm going Wedding dress shopping between X-mas and New Years! I'm so excited...but the smaller I am the easier it will be.The only dillema is...I will lose weight after I order the dress...so I know they will have to take it in.

My intial goal for christmas was to be 165 lbs. But losing has been slow. I am still shooting for it, but as long as I keep losing (slow or fast) Ill be happy.

My goal between now and christmas is to go to the gym 20 times. I have no motivation to go and I need to fix that. If I make it, I will give myself a massage from a spa. If I dont, I'll give John one myself for 20 min ha.

WHAAAT!!! No motivation to go. Well here it is girlfriend. How about working your a$$ off so that you can go and buy a HOT HOT HOT dress for New Years eve and make John take you somewhere nice. then you can post the hottie pics of you showing it off from working out at least 20 times by Christmas. Thats it girl....WORK IT :work_out: , WORK IT :jump_jack , WORK IT :exercise: , WORK IT:bike: !! You CAN do it and YOU will do it. :D ...well how about this. Go and workout for me. Thats it...go and feel like you are doing something for someone else and workout for me:strong: .

I know it is a lot to ask from Santa, but I would like to lose 8 pounds by then. I am hoping he will help me accomplish this.

I definitely have got to be good during the holidays because of my cousin's wedding on Dec 30th. I don't want to pig out and then bulge out all over in my bridesmaid dress! So I definitely will be in losing mode. I am still hoping to be under 120 by Xmas... that's been my long term goal for quite awhile now.

I would REALLY like to lose at 7 pounds by Christmas. I'm going to be on a beach as of December 26th and I hope to be in a 2 piece bathing suit!

the only thing I wish for is to not gain during the holidays! that is all...if I don't lose a lot that is fine, Ijust don't want to gain! OH an if I lose 20 pounds by Christmas like my signature goal says....I will be extra happy....I only have to lose 7 more pounds to be at that goal

i want to have a flat stomach by christmas... as much as i've lost, i've still got the spare tire... so... i'm concerned about the numbers, just NO MORE ROLL!

I'll get my a$$ to the gym at least 3 times a week until then!

Hmmmm . . . . I want to be a size 6 for Christmas. Oh, you mean realistically?

I am very happy to see very realistic goals here, buddies! No one has said they want to lose 25 pounds by Christmas! This is great! ALL of us can reach our goals by Christmas!!!

I'd like to lose 10-12 lbs by Christmas, since I'm still gunning to meet my 6 lb goal for November and I have another 6 lb goal for December. December is going to be a little rough since we have to spend at least 3 days @ my IL's and I may also be traveling to visit a friend in NY. But she is planning on doing WW again so maybe I will remind her of that and we can dine on sushi the whole time. :p

WW goal weight is within sight--only 6 pounds to go. And I want that so badly! It's possible to do that by christmas, but I don't know if it's probable; I usually lose slowly. ;-) But that's what I'm working toward.

DH's family is naturally very trim, and unfortunately focused on weight. I would love to be a healthy weight again by the time the family decends on us at the holidays. I just don't want to be the only fat one in the room again this year. I don't want the hurtful offhand comments. They're not intentionally mean, but they've never had to struggle with weight, and they don't understand the challenge that it is for me.

Most of my motivation is intrinsic--I want to be healthy and fit again for myself. But maybe having this extrinsic motivation will help me with this push toward the finish line.

Go go go!!!!

11-16-2006, 01:28 PM
Hmmm.... I want to loose about 10lbs but that is unrealistic for me, so If I could be at my 5% (192) I would be excited!

My goal:

At my last meeting before X-Mas, I will weigh in at 164lbs.

That's my 10% goal.

I know I have been losing slowly, but I strongly believe in the phrase ""Shoot for the moon... 'cause even if you miss, you'll end up in the stars."

In fact, I'm putting that in my profile.

Now.

I want to look HOT for New Year's Eve!

To accomplish that, I want to drop 6 pounds by then and be at 155. I also want to tone and tighten by exercising 3-4 days a week. I've been concentrating too much on cardio and our office park just opened a free gym. I need to take advantage of it and do some strength training

:jump_jack We can do it !!:jump_jack

My initial goal when I started WW was to hit my 10% by Christmas, but I started losing faster than I expected and I hope to hit that mark at tomorrow's WI. So I set a new goal of 210 by Christmas. When I go home for Christmas break, I wanna look good in front of my friends who I haven't seen since the summer.

My original goal was to be at -70 gone, but that makes 14 pounds between now and then. It's a tall order, but I'm still in the stage of my weight loss at which I lose quickly, so it could happen...and I am SO excited about that!! If I don't make it, I won't kick myself, I just really enjoy setting really high goals for myself (see Victoria's quote!). I also hope to be solidly in 22s, with them getting roomy...definitely do-able!! I am so excited for this season, and I'm VERY determined to not just maintain, but continue losing throughout the entire month! YAY!:D

Keep reaching for these goals, girls! We are GOING TO MAKE IT! We're becoming the versions of ourselves we were meant to be...healthy and happy and full of life, proud to be US!

Ultimately, I would like to lose the last 6 lbs so I would be at my WWGW. However, I lose VERY SLOWLY, so realistically, I would be happy to lose 3 lbs and be halfway to that goal.

Ideally I would like to see 140 by Christmas, but no pressure! Weight-wise, maintaining would be great.

What I am going to focus on is not slacking on the workouts. I feel myself starting to slip right now, and I don't want that to happen. So from now until Christmas I am pledging to workout at least 5 times a week. Bonus points for 6 times a week!

Once I reach my Turkey Day challenge of 158, I'd like to lose maybe 4 more lbs before Christmas and then maintan at 154. If I lose, GREAT, but if I don't then it'll be ok as long as I don't gain.

well what i'd REALLY like is a new iPod, since I seem to have lost mine...

...more importantly I'd like to look good in a bathing suit since I am going on a cruise in January - so I'm going to commit to working out 3-5x a week until we get there!

...I'd also like to make goal by then, too of course :) 5 # to go!

Well, I originally wanted to be down to 132 by December 15th because that's the day I'm going home for two weeks. My weight-loss is going very slowly though, so I'd just like to get to 135 by then and maintain that while I'm at home. The last time I went home (for 2 weeks in the summer), I gained 7 lbs so I am determined to not let that happen this time - I just need to use my willpower, not go crazy and be strong. :strong: Also, instead of eating all the junkfood from home that I can't get here, I'll use that time as a chance to eat all of the low and zero point foods that you all talk about and that I can't get over here in England. ;)

Ideally I'd like to be down another 5-6 lbs. But rather than focus so much on the scale, I'm really going to use December to get into a habit/pattern of working out.

Add exercise into my life and be working more completely towards a fit/healthy me.

I want to be in the 170s. I don't care if it's 179.9, at least I'm in there.:exercise2

That means at least a 6.3 pound loss between now and Christmas. And once I meet that it'll just be maintaining it while I go to all the holiday parties and to visit my mother.

I'm also ordering "The Firm" fitness set so I can start toning my arms more. They're coming slowly with kickboxing, but I know I need to add more strength training.

I would really like to be under 175 by Christmas, even if it's only by a pound. So, I guess that would be at least a 5 pound loss. I also need to start getting some exercise in...I would like to start going to the gym or working out at home at least 3 days a week.

I had a goal of 190 by Christmas which would be a 10lb loss. But I have hit the wall I knew I would because of extreme weightloss due to surgery. So I have reconsidered that goal and I would like:

1. To start losing again. A pound a week would make me happy giving me about a 5lb loss by Christmas. I could live very happily with 195 at Christmas time! :D

2. I just started being able to exercise again since my surgery. I went to the gym yesterday and it was great! I want to get back into my routine again, I was so dedicated to exercise before I got sick!
3. I want to stick to the expectations I have that I can remain OP through the holidays. I went off track for the first time yesterday and scared myself. I know I can do this and I will.

You guys have great goals! I will be cheering us all on throughout the next month or so!! GOOOOO BUDDIES!!! :exercise2

For Christmas this year, I want to maintain a slow loss of 0.5 pounds a week or more. Christmas is about 6 week away, so that would be only a loss of 3 pounds, putting me at 167.4 pounds. That's all I want!!
All I wanted was to get down to 167.4, but I am currently at 166.6!!!! So, I want to update this and say that by Christmas I would like to be down to 165.

I am another one that would like to lose the 2.6 pounds I need to go to reach into the 160's, but I would be perfectly content not gaining this holiday season.
