View Full Version : Rededicating myself

To quote one of my favorite lines from Happy Gilmore:

"I'm stupid. You're smart. I was wrong. You were right. You're the best. I'm the worst. You're very good-looking. I'm not very attractive....."

You get the idea.

I goofed. After making it through a tough summer very well, I must admist I've gotten very lazy with the plan this past month. I've slipped back into some back habits again. I've not been counting points strictly, not getting my water in, and going back to about 6 mugs of coffee a day. Also taking on a 2nd PT job as a pizza delivery person hasn't helped much either. I've found myself snacking on food there out of boredom waiting on the next delivery in the slow times.

I need to rededicate myself to staying OP. My plan is as follows.

1.) Be 100% strict about counting EVERYTHING that enters my mouth.
2.) Keep track and journal on my spreadsheet the points for said items.
3.) Cut back to 2 cups of coffee a day.
4.) Finish at least one of my 64 oz mug of water here at work every day and drink more at home.
5.) Find something else to do than snacking while waiting on a delivery.
6.) And after I shake the end of my chest congestion, get back to working out in the morning before work at least 3 days a week.

Kelly and I were talking about it yesterday. And as I told her, I in no way blame her, but this was so much easier when I had someone by my side do it with me and keeping me accountable. So, my fellow BCB'ers, if you don't see me posting---get on me about it. If I'm not updating my weights in my signature---get on me about it. If I am tempted to stumble---get on me about it. Bottom line---get on me to stay OP and make it OMOHOD at a time.

You can do it...just think of how much weight you have already lost. Think of how nice it will be when you run into an old friend and they don't even recognize you because of how well you have done.

Glad you're back! Maybe you can keep a few bottles of water at the pizza place and sip on one of those during down time. Try a straw maybe, that helps me get in my water without noticing.

Welcome back, Kevin!

Your plan to get back on track is awesome! Post often so we can keep track of you...or you will fear the wrath of the BCBers!!!

Something that helped me cut my coffee habit and up my water intake: i started out saying that for every cup of coffee I drank, I told myself I had to drink a half liter of water before I could refill my cup. Then, when I was successful with that, I made it a whole liter for every cup of coffee. Now I don't even drink coffee every day, but I'm up to 3 liters of water!!!

Well as the wife of Bassmankev, I am glad to see that you are getting back on track. I know how hard things have been around here lately. Its nice that you dont blame it on me but it is really your fault. If YOU didnt get ME pregnant I would be still on track. ;) Seriuosly, I promise to not tempt you with my cravings. As good and as yummy as they are...i will eat them during the day when you are not home!! how is that???:D I myself should count better but I eat at such different times and little here and there that counting just annoyes me. I would lLOVE to have a normal meal at a normal time again. But enough about me.

YOU CAN DO THIS KEV!!!! WE CAN DO THIS!! You are lookin FINE baby.:buddysmoo
So get back on the :bike: , and get back to :workout: and you will feel better.

well mister is at work til 1030...from what i know of today they where celebrating a bday at work and had a ton of food. I believe him when he said he did well. He did say he was tired of carrots and broccoli...so i am guessing a veggie tray was there AND he only had 2 cups of coffee instead of 6!!!
WAY TO GO KEV

Kelly's right. I did rather well. Veggies galore. I did use some FP for a piece of pie, but knew it was exactly 6 pts since I'm the one who made it. Delivering went good. No snacking, drank tons of water. Have my 31 pts planned out for today. Ready to go :water1:

:bcb_yuck: :bcb_yuck: :bcb_yuck:

Needless to say, I have failed. I know better know I should be doing, but my laziness is getting the best of me. I need to grab a hold of myself before things spiral any futher out of control. I think about when I started this whole life change a year ago on 1-1-06, and that I'm 43 pound lighter, but what has happened to me. I was down 74 at one point. My plan is still the same as before, and granted I grabbed a hold of 2 of the things, but they are minor in the big picture. I think--not think, know--my biggest problem is accountabilty. I need someone pushing me, correcting me and walking side by side with me. And once that baby comes, I know it will be much easier with Kelly and I doing this side by side. But I think I need a fresh dose of that boot camp mentality. A good switch kick in the arse. Help me get back on track. The Holidays are no excuse for my huge gains in the past month. 1/1/07 is coming soon and I need to kick myself in gear. I love the partnering up you guys all did last month. I really need to get that going for myself. If someone would find it possible and take some time are partner up with me, it would be greatly appreciated. I know it might be a little different, being a guys and all, and perhaps I should tackle to men's group, but honestly, they are a small-slower to respond group. I have seen the dedication and success of the t-20's and feeling my focus would be better tackled here.

Thanks for the confession...I now bend over and fully except you guys to line up and give me what I know is coming.

Chief

maybe you could partner with Derek?

Hey Kevin...what is going on? I remember when you first started posting, it was right around the same time as me. You were an exercise nut! You were doing such a great job....what happened??? I know there is always going to be a list of this that or the other, but you've got to do this. You have come so far, and are so proud of yourself....how can you let that all fall away?!!

What you need here, is an accountability thread with a daily check in. It has helped a lot of us get off of our butts! Let's see a menu with every little bite on it, along with your exercise. That would be the best accountability. If you look up a Cheryl's siggy, it says something about if you've done it before, you can do it again. No more excuses, no more "letting it slide" Do this for yourself, Kelly, and your kids. You were a rockstar before, and you can and will be again.

You're right. That was me. I was on track through September and then the wheels fell off October when I took a second job delivering pizzas 2-3 days a week. The days I deliver, I would work 5:30 am till 11:00 pm or even midnight and frankly I couldn't push myself to get up at 4:30 to go workout. Then my tiredness would carry over into the next day..and so on. I'm going to be cutting back to only 2 days a week (Wednesday and Friday), so that should help. I have somne things planned out that I can be working on during the downtimes so that I'm just not standing around the kitchen take a nibble here...a bit there. I'm going to get back to working out the first on the year. Our year-end here at my normal job is so busy that I need to focus on it for the next 2 weeks.

No more excuses....I will get to my goal and surpass it in 2007.

Well dear....I know things will change when you go to 2 set days a week at E&J...so I will kick your butt in the morning to get up and work out. You where so happy when you worked out. You HAD ALOT more energy. You will need the extra energy since my engery level is oooo about NOTHING. I think the biggest problem is the excerise. I dont see you eating things you really should avoid. Unless its at work. Anyway....YOU CAN DO IT. and come April/May...I will be right there with you hard core again. :bcb_mad: Lets bust out the BIG GUNS BABY
