Boy, thanks for sharing this recipe. I love love love peanut butter but have more or less eliminated it because of the high amount of fat and points. I also love love love chickpeas so I think now I will have the best of both worlds. I definitely am going to try this tonight. I make homemade whole wheat pita bread and I think w/peanut butter will make a change in breakfast or for a snack. Thanks again

Manx,
If you tweak this at all, let me know.
For whatever reason, I liked this recipe a lot more when it was fresh. After it was refrigerated, it had too much of a "beany" taste. It was warm after being in the food processor, and maybe that made the taste better. I know, I posted this recipe, but I feel like it needs some more experimentation.
I also LOVE peanut butter, and would love to find a way to make it a bit less fatty.
Tryin' again - Made this last night and absolutely love it. I loved it both warm and tried it this morning after having it in the refrig. and love it just as much. I love chunky and have a hard time finding reduced fat natural "chunky". This way, I get my chunks!!!! I had to use more water in the processing of it because there was not as much oil in the actual peanut butter but it didn't alter the consistency that much. I processed the beans first and then added the peanut butter. I like this also for the fact that when you get peanut butter you don't really can't control the oil. In the natural ones, you have the oil formed on the top of the jar you can actually then pour it off.
I was just thinking, I have the peanut butter flavored Divinci syrup. May take a small amount of the peanut butter and add it to see if it enhances the flavor. I personally love it the way it is and I did not use extra salt or sugar.
Thank you again for the recipe. Will be my choice of peanut butter from now on. I haven't told my daughter yet what it is made out of because I put 1/2 back in the original jar. Will see if she says anything. She is one that can love something but when you tell her what it is, all of a sudden, hates it. Go figure that out. Guess because it is something HEALTHY!!!

I just made something similar from aimeesadventures.com that calls for 1/2 cup pb instead. Boy is it ever good! Good thing for me, I am a pb freak!!
Jament - Like you pb is my absolute favorite (nuts and cheese are my downfall) and I have been staying away from them altogether because the points were too high to sacrifice for the small amounts you get. Now I can sit and relax and enjoy my new pb on my homemade pita bread (filled with flax seed and made with wheat flour) and know I am feeding myself with something so much healthier.

I've been meaning to try this for a while from reading about it in the past. Today I made a 1/4 batch in my bullet type blender and I loved it! It could be a problem for me. I added a bit of DV cookie dough syrup instead of some splenda and water. Thanks for sharing, I think. :p

Coming back to say I think I agree, it's much better fresh. I don't care for it as much cold, which is probably a good thing. :D

Would it taste peanuttier with some Watkins PB extract? I may have to make a sample batch to find out!

Cordy, I've never had much luck with PB extracts or the DV syrup. Is the watkins brand good? I've tried another brand and it was icky.

Since it's better "warm", couldn't you just warm-it-up in the micro each time?
Just wondering........... :)
Or does it just get "beanier" over time?
I am allergic to peanuts but really like soybutter. I had given it up though because it was 3 pts for a tbsp. I am going to try this recipe in my magic bullet and see how it goes. Thanks for the idea!!
