Nephew--could use some prayers!

My brother and sister in law had their first child in August of 2005. He is just the cutest baby in the world (I'm probably a bit biased here though). My brother had a strong feeling that there was something wrong with Kevin (thats the baby). He took him to the doctor today and it looks as though baby Kevin has a serious hearing problem and there is a strong possibility that he may end up being deaf. I'm just asking for some prayers to help us get through this obstacle of life. I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason and that I am sure it will end up being more of a hardship on those of us who hear more than for him.

I always had hearing problems as a kid and my parents were told there was a very good chance I could go deaf. I am 31 now and I have better hearing then every one I know. To this day I am always amazed when I pass hearing tests with flying colors. Occasionally there is a very high pitched noise in my office that only myself and one other guy can hear.

In the event that Kevin is deaf he can and will have a very normal life. My son's grandmother (his dad's mother) is deaf. That has never stopped her from doing anything.

I will pray that Kevin's story turns out like mine. Please keep us posted on his progress.
