I lost my commando spirit there for a couple days during a pity party for myself about my leg not being up to the workouts I want to do (still OP with Flexxies but not good choices). I'm here today to take it back. Like my leader said in our meeting today: Success is like a cafeteria - you have to get up and get it yourself.
I've got a plan for today and am working on how to get in some exercise without aggrevating my leg this week. I've got 5 days before I leave to visit my Mom for a few days and I MUST regain my commando spirit to be able to survive the food challenges there. On a plus note, I will get to go to a Trader Joes and stock up on some cool healthy stuff.

What will you do today to reach your goals?

Happy weekend, Commandos!!! Just got home from the WI this week. Down only .6. A little disappointing, but I know I will make it up in the following weeks. I've done this enough to know how I work...

Have a super OP day!!

This week I am going to plan all of my menus. I am on core. I have core foods available, but they have to be COOKED! I think in order to be successful, because I am so busy with work, I need to plan out my foods in order to make sure I have core foods available for every meal. That's my goal.

BTW I have had a sprained ankle - severely so (going to a sports medicine doctor now to see if I need to have surgery) and can't do any standing workouts. With an ankle brace I am able to do a little stationary bicycling, but I have designed an entire workout on a balance ball, yoga mat, using those stretchy tubes and some free weights and an exercise bar to music. It is cardio and strength at the same time. I just was unwilling to feel victimized by my ankle. You can "dance" lying on your back! I promise!

Good Morning Commandos,

I think it's still morning. I'm up and about, showered, dressed, fed and ready to roar!:strong:

Joanne - I'm sorry about your work-outs, but glad you've got such a great attitude! My lecturer said the same thing about cafeterias - she read us a quote from someone who had just come to america and gone to a cafeteria for the first time. It brought to mind my first visit to a cafeteria - I was a child and my mother had taken me to Hudson's Downtown Detroit which was quite an adventure in those days. The thing I remember is that I'd keep seeing things I wanted and my mom would say - 'Be sure - once you choose this - you may find something later on you would rather have, but your choice will be made' - Of course - as a little kid that meant nothing. Til I got to the desserts! Then I had already made all my choices and it was too late! It made quite an impression on me - to this day - I walk down a cafeteria line and look at everything before I put anything on my tray!

Shannon - Down .6 is great in my book! Next week could be much better - our bodies don't like to follow the graph we chart out for our weight loss (which annoys me alot - except when it decides to do better than I thought).
Keep up the good work!

Elle - sorry about your ankle - but I'm very impressed with your persistence!
That is very commando of you!

I love the weekend! Except this one will have the theme of 'prepare the taxes for the accountant' which is no fun - but that's ok. There will be intervals of Saturday and Sunday fun time!

Have a great day Commandos! Sorry if I missed anyone in cross-over as it's taken me a long time to write this - I'm very wordy today!:)

Keep your head up Joanne. I had that same day yesterday. I think I met 1 healthy guideline. Very off pattern for me, but I'm still proud I was totally OP. I just "didn't wanna".

OTOH I was going to take a workout day off but I got Express Cardio and just HAD to do it! It was very fun.

Hello all!

I finally made it home from my trip. I was supposed to come home from Atlanta on Wednesday evening, but Wed. morning my boss and I decided that I really needed to be in Dallas for the rest of the week (Joanne and Texasmom, I had no internet connection to get in touch with you guys  ).

I did great Monday - Wednesday because that was planned, Thursday I was not OP and that was partly because of no planning, and also because I waited way to long to eat and was starving by the time I finally had lunch. I got a fajita salad which was fine, except it came in one of those totilla shell bowls and I ate the entire bowl, and then a few hours later we went to Benihana's for dinner and I did not make the best choices there either, mainly because I was still hungry, lunch did not fill me up.

But the good news is that on Friday I went back to being OP. Unfortunately I missed my WI today and couldn't get to a meeting while in Dallas.

It is so good to be home...and back to BCB :) ... the first place I went when I got home was to Publix so I've got a good dinner for tonight and breakfast tomorrow and some healthy snacks, so I can get through tonight and tomorrow until I do my full grocery shopping.

Hope everyone is having a great OP weekend!

Good morning, fellow commandos. I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend. Yesterday was an emotionally wrenching day for me, but I got through it without turning to food.:strong: Life was better by evening and I was glad that I could go to bed without feeling guilty about food choices. Today I will continue with the commando spirit as I attend DBIL's birthday celebration. DSIL has previewed the menu for me, so I will be able to make good choices. Have a great Sunday!

Good morning Commandos!

Today is going to be a day of getting caught up with mail, laundry, bill paying and grocery shopping. But it is so good to be home and back to my normal routine. I'm looking forward to getting back to my normal exercise routine and my normal eating habits and no more restaurants for a while :)

Have a great OP Sunday everyone!!

Just checking in real quick... getting ready to head out for a meeting/brunch with the family.

I've already eaten a light & healthy snack, so I'm ready to deal with the restaurant. :bcbsalute

OOOH! It feels so GOOD to be :strong: and in control! I've got all my menus and workouts planned until I leave to visit my Mom. I'm trying to save most of my FPs for the weekend, but I'll still try to get some walking in while we're there. I had a great walking workout today and just have some chores to do to get ready for next week, then I can kick back and watch the last of the NHL games before the Olympic break. GO WINGS!

Morning, Commandos! I was a "sewing fool" yesterday - it was my nephew's 3rd birthday. I usually make a birthday dress for the girls and a little shorts & shirt outfit for the boys. This time I made two shirts - one out of Nemo fabric and the other was Thomas the Tank Engine fabric. Trouble was, I didn't START until yesterday morning, and his party was at 4:00! Luckily I got them both done but when I got home, I was too exhausted to come here and check out what's happening!

Getting ready for church - I've already done my FIRM "Maximum Cardio Burn Plus Abs" workout so I'd better hop in the shower.

Have a great OP day! I'll be back to see what's going on...

GOod Afternoon Commandos,

I just wrapped up my tax packet for the accountant. I am soo happy to have that off my plate. :headover:

I am going to take a well deserved break and then have lunch - Shrimp!

Why do the weekends go so fast. I try to savor every minute. I even stayed up til Midnight last night - finishing a book I was reading. But the minutes and hours just race by.

OH well - it is one of the mysteries of life!

Have a great Sunday Buddies!:)

Hi all! Played my theme songs this morning and I am pumped up again! Was up a .8 this week. Full steam ahead! I'd really like to have a good week this week, as the following week I have gum surgery! I need to make a good plan of attack this week.

Joanne- where there's a will, there's a way. There must be something that you can do.

Heidi- I did a double take! Your picture has changed again!! I could use your talents to take IN my clothes!

Carrie- Don't EVEN mention the "T" word. I've been slow going this year to get my duties done lately!

Heather- I hope that you are alright and have a much better day ahead!

RE: Hoosier- Does anybody else miss hearing more of Todd these days?? I think we lost most of our menfolk to the MAN thread!
Glad you are doing well.

Andi- loved your airplan story. Being away is fun but normal routine is nice too!
