I've encountered a time when it is not possible for me to do WW. My ankle is broken so I can neither weigh nor exercise, we're remodeling the house to sell and the kitchen is torn up so I have no means to prepare special meals (even if I could shop for them, which I cannot). So for the time being, I am taking a leave of absence...however, I will not use this as an excuse to pig out or eat more than I should of anything. I shall try to make wise choices and eat moderate portions. And I'll be back with you when all this is over.....be well, be OP, stay safe, and be happy.
Warmly,

I don't usually post on 100+, but I would like to say that WW is built to work around all life's nuisances. I would encourage you to continue to count points, whether or not you are exercises or weighing. Just think, when you do finally get to weigh in, you will have a substantial loss to see!!!
Even if you are unable to prepare meals, many unprepared foods can get you by (fruits, fresh pre-cut veggies, whole wheat crackers, tuna in a pouch) along with take-out (look it up in the dining out companion).
If you are not on your feet, that is even more reason to watch your food more carefully... I have known so many people who have GAINED when injured, now there's no sense in that... you can at the very least maintain.
Please reconsider your decision. I'm sure your buddies will agree. Yes life throws curve balls, but that is when we need WW the most... for balance, familiarity, control, and our health.
Best wishes!

I totally agree with Pink. WW isn't a diet, but a way of life. Life is always going to throw curve balls and be unpredictible. I don't think that should be an excuse to "take a break". Now, more than ever with a injured ankle you should be eating healthy and taking care of yourself. JMO

Agreed. Do not give up the ship if you are unable to do things. There are wise decisions to be made at each turn you encounter. I'm sure it is an incredible nuisance in your situation, but if you are or get on the flex plan you can still eat right and at least not gain! Days turn in to weeks and weeks in to months and all of a sudden you find yourself heavier and too embarassed to come back! We are all talking from experience. You don't want to undo all your hard work.....We only want the best for you!

Robin - I'm with the others on this! Look at where you've come from and keep at it, no matter what hurdles are in your path!

There is no such thing as impossible, Robin. You just have to WANT to do it. :buddysmoo

Not only can you eat right, as suggested before, but you can work on toning and strengthening your upper body. Don't give up now, or take a break. We'll be watching BCB to see your posts. :)

Agreed! There is never a time to NOT do WW! This isn't a diet.. it's a way of life! You can make adjustments, and it'll be difficult being in your situation but it IS possible!
Robin, I know you to be thoughtful, and bright. I support whatever decision you make. What I want is what you want.

When i "tried" to lose weight .... i didn't. i was fooling myself. i had to make the committment.
I don't know you. But if i did what you are outlining, i'd gain weight consistently until i came back. And i'd not come back easily, because i would be embarassed.
I agree with what Lisa said. This is not a diet. It's a way of life. You may not lose weight, with not being able to exercise (but you could do arm exercises, upper body stretches, etc.). But you could maintain. WIth the house being torn up, you may not be able to make "special" meals .. but i've found that it's not any harder to throw the "right" things in a crockpot, order point wise at a fast food/restaurant, Keep some frozen meals in the freezer to microwave, keep low fat lunch meats in the fridge for sandwiches, chose low point soups to keep on hand in the cupboard, as opposed to cooking unhealthily. You may not be the one shopping, but you can make out a shopping list on it with the items you want to have purchased. Print off point lists for the restaurants (that someone can bring you take out from), if you can't get there yourself. It may be a little more inconvenient ... but it's doable.
I hope you are feeling well soon .... and that the remodeling goes as smoothly as possible.

C'mon Robin! I KNOW you can stay OP over the next while. It takes some planning and some dedication. Some of the other buddies have offered good suggestions. How about posting a plan for all the buddies to work through with you? :bcbsalute
