I can't tell you how many chocolates I received this christmas! People just don't "get it". Their light bulbs are in a brown out!
I have permission to eat away now...
I'm at my goal.
SABATOURS....all of them... it's not gonna work!:D :strong:
Don't worry ....I'm not falling for it! I am so onto their game:buddysmoo

We got several boxes of chocolates also. What were they thinking? DH took them all to work this morning, but he brought home 2 new boxes when he came home from work. Seems they are from his boss-another man who wasn't thinking!

I was confused at the first box and amused (by the 4th), but not offended. They think "I'm done now", and can get back to "normal".
Some people don't even realize that they are sabatours! others...hmmm
I think they know exactly what they are doing..and I am onto them.

My boss, we'll call him azzwipe, presents me with a 1 lb bag of expensive chocolates and says: "I know you shouldn't have these but I know you'll eat them anyway".
I gave them to the (skinny) maintenance guy. He and his kids loved them.
There are some people who just don't get it and others who just don't want you to succeed. Made me realize: it's all up to me!

Good for you. I am very proud of you and hope I could do the same thing in that situation.

This is my first posting and I am trying to figure out if I am doing this right. I was searching for fast food menu points when it brought a link to this site. I started WW earlier this month and the first 2 weeks I lost but then came the holiday and I got way off schedule and knew I had gained and sure enough I gain back 3 lbs.. so I left the meeting and went shopping at store to buy healthy stuff for the rest of the week and I not sure what happen but I left the store starved and went straight to McDonalds.. I only ate half of it and threw the other half out the window but I blew it again.. I am my worst enemy.. And BTW have tons of chocolate still in the house even though I asked EVERYONE not to bring it when that request was ignore ask them to take it with them or I would throw it away again I was ignored and I even ask my husband who promise to do something, guess what?? It still here!!!!.. I have not touch it but after MikieD's I very concern with my loosing control AGAIN.
Thanks for listening

Maggie :welcome: to 100+ club,
This is a great place for information and you will get tons of support. It's not easy to change our diet, but it can be done. Everyone at BCB is doing it, so when you face a food challenge, this is a great place to come for suggestions on how to handle it. What a smart move you made by getting to the store and stocking up on healthy food!
Reguarding the chocolate, if it's too much of a temptation for you, I reccommend the route taken by 5xlt - give it away. If you can't give it away, throw it in the trash. I've learned that it's better to waste food than for me to eat it all.
Take a few minutes to read the Newbie Handbook and the BCB Philosophy, then check in daily and post often so that we get to know you.

Good for you Icing for taking control. Keep up the great work.
I don't understand people who know you are on WW. We got so much also. So, many people said, I know your husband is a diabetic and you are on WW but, the kids will enjoy it. They now have around 10 things here. I am thinking about taking it to the Senior home that is a few blocks away. I know they would love to have them.

What a true statement that is Icing!! My DD2, that has been the MOST supportive of my entire family was in charge of my stocking this year. What did I get??? ALL candy, thats right CANDY all of it. And says, Mom its the holiday, you can splurge. I think it is hard for people that DON'T have an addiction to foods to understand that there are just some things we should not have.

We have a thin as a rail 18 year old employee who just loves it when someone gives me candy - cause he gets it ALL! :D
On the subject of sabatours - there are so many kinds and so many motivations.
I really think some of them are scared that if we change - everything will change in our relationship to them - and it's scary. I don't think it's deliberate in those cases. But it sure is hard to combat!:ugh:

One of the instructors at the GYM gave out candy canes on Christmas Eve after the last class (which I attended :D but I did not eat the candy cane:D). Another said don't worry about what you eat over the holidays, just march back and get moving right after. WOE?? (what on earth???) I just ignored the comments but agree that there was sabotage in my home too. My own sister..... whom I bought a yoga mat and exercise ball..... gave me coconut brittle??? I did my very best to resist and did fall a few times and have nobody to blame but myself, but I never imagined that people who know how hard I am working at this would even think of doing this. I'm glad I'm not alone. Now I'm on to them as well Icing!!

OH MY GOSH! I would have been so mad! He deserves his title!
Icing: good for you. As my 5 year old would say, you've used your "tricky spy manuvers" to get onto their game. You outsmarted them and the chocolate!:D

Great job, Icing!
5xlt, that is awful! Good for you for giving them away.
I find that my biggest saboteurs are either (usually slim) people who can have a box of chocolate laying around and eat just one piece and walk away (my husband!) or others like myself who have some lbs. to lose, but indulge anyway and just assume that I will too.. "because it's the holidays" or "it's birthday cake, you have to have a piece!" or "it's homemade" ......

Good for you Icing!
I'm fortunate that most people in my life are very supportive of me, and no one gave me chocolate this year for the first time ever.
But, what gets me is one of my best friends is the one person who does try to sabotage me. She doesn't do it to mess me up, but she wants someone to eat bad with her and tell her its ok to not exercise, and I used to be that person, but not any more. And I think she's finally learning that. We went out to lunch today (I had researched everything at the restaurant and knew what I was going to have). Well, after lunch, we went shopping where I bought the smallest size jeans I've bought in about 20 years and she was amazed. She just kept saying how skinny I looked in those jeans. Then she wanted cheesecake, so while she got cheesecake I went to starbucks and got a non-fat egg nog latte (again I had planned for it - this is my favorite starbucks drink and I had told myself that I would have one this holiday season). While she's eating her cheesecake and I'm drinking my latte she told me she was really proud of how well I'm doing and that she's going to get back to eating healthy and exercising. I think she's coming around :)

There are some people who just don't get it and others who just don't want you to succeed. Made me realize: it's all up to me! Wordy McWord! No amount of "generous gifts" can tempt me off my chosen path, in fact, this year, I got lots of spa products instead of the generic chocolate gifties. (I must be stressed - everyone told me to pamper myself! :D
Welcome, Maggie and 5xlt. Please post a lot so we can get to know you! :welcome::welcome::welcome:

I was seeing a guy who told me last week, that if I lose anymore weight, he probably would lose interest in me, because he likes big women. I told him not to let the door hit him in the butt on the way out. I told that story at the meeting this week and they were so proud of me. Hey, I don't need someone like that in my life...
