Monday, 10/24 I went in for Day Surgery to have my Gall Bladder removed and due to complications, ended up in the hospital for a week following traditional removal surgery.

So, after 3 days on liquids and watching my intake, I managed an 8.5 pound loss on 10/31 Monday's weigh-in this week. Amazing, I know..but I sure don't want to have to do this when I need a good loss :headover:

So I hope to maintain this or even lose a pound this coming Monday...that would be so sweet!

I had my gall bladder removed about a year and a half ago....it was quite the ordeal for me too, however, mine was all leading up to the surgery. I had really big and painful gall stones that were literally bringing me to my knees. I was in the hospital for 3 days before surgery just to get my pain under control. During that time I was still nursing my new baby, so my hubby would bring the baby to the hospital (along with the other 2 kids) so I could be near him while I was in there. I know I lost a couple of pounds during that---but you're right, I wouldn't want to have to lose weight that way! How many incisions did you end up having? They promised me two, but it ended up being three because there were stones trapped in some tube in my body-gross!!

It's a common thread... like diabetes and migrains...many of us have the same challenges.

How many incisions did you end up having?
I have 2 total. One was the laproscopic incision-3 staples. When they couldn't do that, they other incision goes from my belly button to my ribcage and that's about 27 staples worth.

Can't wait to got those out!
