Does anyone know of a multi vitamin that does NOT contain iron? I can not take a multi with iron

also,

How do you measure icecream? Its well... frozen and hard to smoosh down into a half cup measuring cup so I was hoping someone had some advice so I gain the accurate count and measurment.

Thanks!

Tiff

I can't help you with the vitamins, but with the ice cream - rather than smoosh it into a half cup, simply weigh it! The ice cream packaging should tell you how many ounces or grams are in each 1/2 cup serving.

I cannot take Iron either - I get a multivitamin from Trader Joes - I think it's $7.99. Multi without Iron.

I also found one at Vons.

Good Luck!

Tiff-

I can help you with you vitamin question. Get a vitamin for seniors. I have a friend who is far from being a senior, but has had a hysterectomy and cannot have iron now. Her doctor told her to buy the senior vitamins.

Hope this helps!

Tiff -- you could try Centrum Silver or a generic equivalent. That's what my dh's dr. recommended for him. It doesn't contain iron.

Vitamins = I order most online from swansonvitamin.com. I've had great service & the $ isn't so bad. I do try to buy in 'soft-gel' or capsule form. This is better assimilated than a hard tablet...

adding to the ice cream part:

when you get back from the store (when the ice cream's a litttttttttttle soft), portion it out into those little 1/2 cup or 1 cup plastic containers...

this way, when you want some, you don't have to drag out the measuring cup or scale!

Great idea! I do the same thing with pudding and pasta salad when i make it. It sure is a pain inthe butt to carve out and weigh icecream each time.

Most vitamins don't contain iron UNLESS they are labeled vitamin AND mineral supplement, as iron is considered a mineral (zinc, magnesium, calcium, are all metals and considered part of the mineral aspect). So, a regular vitamin (I take children's chewables) doesn't contain minerals unless it says so.

I save the little cups that applesauce comes in and that's what I use for mashed potatoes, ice cream, jello, pudding, etc. If I use a regular bowl I know my portions would soon grow.

I have another to add on the ice cream serving.....my ice cream scooper is exactly 1/4 cup! All I do is warm up the scooper, scoop some and take a butter knife and take off the excess.
There is my portion control!
