Good Morning all!
I've been up for a while, I felt so crummy yesterday, I went to bed at 9:30. I stayed all day at work and it really wore me down. Looking forward to a better day today after a good nights sleep :bcb_up.
I'll start getting ready for the holiday today. I figure I can polish the silver (:bcb_yuck:) and start setting the table. I bought some glass "jewels" and some floating candles and I have to figure out a centerpiece, etc. for the table. I have some ribbon to make the napkin holders and some cute little placecards. Too soon to really start cooking, but I will make sure I have everything I need. Other than that, I'll try to rest some today and get rid of this cold before the holiday.
Hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend. I'll pop in later!:salut

Hey Buddies
Up and going this morning. It is REALLY cold outside-and windy !
I spent the better part of yesterday cleaning my house (downstairs anyway) It looks pretty good and is very de-cluttered and dust free.
Today maybe I'll make it upstairs. We'll see what DH wants to do.
Our Thanksgiving is really nice. It's just us for the day, and I do the whole turkey dinner thing. The kids set the table fancy. It's always a relaxing, special time. We are looking forward to it. CORE makes it a breeze for me-there are so many great CORE options-this is virtually a no-stress day ! When I was a kid, my mom made so many desserts. I love to bake, but have never wanted that much stuff in the house. My kids are used to just having one -like pumpkin pie, and calling it a day. I am glad I never started something I would regeret now !!!:bcb_grin
I have to get exercising. I have not yet missed a day this month.
Linda- Sounds like you are pretty organized (again-no surprise there !) I hope you can get some rest so you can actually ebjoy the holiday !
I'd better go- have a goodOP day, everyone

Good morning, Buddies!
It's a chilly 51 degrees here (yes, that sounds funny to most of you) and the high will be only around 65...so the heat turned up, I hate the idea of getting out of bed, but we have a soccer game at 10:30! Tonight we will be having dinner with my mom as we will miss Thanksgiving with her.
As I wrote yesterday we will be visiting Cleveland and Columbus this coming week, and I will surely freeze. I'm nervous about Thanksgiving dinner because I won't be cooking...and I won't even be around for the prep. So I'll need to focus on portion sizes and stopping at 80%.
D-Dog goes to the kennel tomorrow, and one of Kyla's soccer teammates will come by once a day to feed the guinea pigs and check the cat's multi-day feeder. The kennel is great - the owners' daughter loves D-Dog and takes her out to play.
Linda, I hope you can catch up on your rest today & beat that cold!
I'm with you, Bridget - it will be nice to see family, but I love a nice CORE Thanksgiving meal.
Hugs to all...

Good Morning!
Claire's swim team was pushed back to 6am this week (due to a swim meet) so we skipped that-- which means I can try out the Tour de France spin class this morning! I'm going to leave early as the classes have been completely full for the past two weeks so if I don't get there early, I don't get in! Claire & Lucas have tennis later on this afternoon and I'll run some errands while they're there. After I get them home, I'm picking up a friend to go to a toy/book fair to check out Christmas gifts for the kids. This evening we're going to push forward with Harry Potter #3. I doubt we'll finish it this weekend but perhaps by Monday so we can watch it while DH & Nathan are at Beaver Cubs!
Have a great OP day everybuddy! :salut

Good Morning
I am up and cleaning away here this morning. I need to take videos back to the library. I will do laundry today too. We have a birthday party tomorrow, and I am still working on addresses.
Last night about 9:00 I was bored. I had enough of the computer but wasn't totally tired. My first thought was EAT. Mentally I was hungry and physically I was not....thank goodness physical won out because I did not get anything to eat. I said to myself ..how do I want to feel in July' so I went upstairs and got my book and read for a bit and stayed out of the kitchen.
Linda-hope you are feeling better soon
Bridget-great job on not missing a day of exercise this month

Good Morning -
Got my exercise in for the day. I went for a 3 mile run in the cold this morning and I must admit I feel energized.
Had w/i this morning and I maintained this week. I guess I didn't eat enough this week with my cold and didn't drink as much water as I needed but I just really didn't have an appetite. Lets hope for a better week next week with the holidays.
I still have not planned my dinner but I know that whatever I have it will be all CORE. I will probably go out shopping this weekend to pick up everything that I will need. I am off next week and look forward to the time off.
I better get moving as it will probably take the better part of the day to get just the downstairs thoroughly cleaned for company.
Lfia...hope you kick that cold before the holidays.
Bridget...I hope to get my downstairs cleaned this weekend so that I have less to do next week other than maintaining a clean house.
Vern....be safe traveling during the holidays.
Nicole....hi..stay warm
Erlas...go for you fighting temptation. I too want to look and feel like a million bucks come next March. I am attending a college alum reunion.
Kim...hope you get in that class.
Have warm and wonderful OP day!

It's been a little slow around here lately, hasn't it?? I am sitting here munching on a Pink Lady apple. I love them. I got a crate of "seconds" at a local country store. I will use them for apple oat pudding and other things, but they are good enough to just "eat". Some of them aren't so pretty though.
It is COLD here too!! We had unexpected snow yesterday, not much accumulated but it snowed on and off all day! So much for me biking! I did order warmer bike pants and gloves last night. I'm kinda out of control with my bike gear buying!!! I am on a quest for gloves that will actually keep my hands warm in the cold! I will give up after these come in if they don't do it...I swear...
DH is redoing our first floor bathroom. This project has been going on for a while. When I came home yesterday there was a big bag of "multipurpose" grout (powder) on my kitchen counter. He was cutting ceramic tiles there too. He is good at making HUGE messes often involving LOTS of dust and never covering anything or doing anything to contain the mess. I did do SOME dusting today as he seems to be finished with the dustiest duties for the moment. The floor is looking pretty good! Our BR had that "marble look" walls and vinyle flooring. The toilet was leaking into the floor, that's what really precipitated this project...We are replacing everything (walls, floor, toilet, sink/vanity) except the tub for the moment. The tub is narrow and needs to be for the size of the room and we'll have to special order it. It's also a jacuzzi and we never use that (mostly because there is an electrical problem with it--it gets stuck ON when you are in it and you have to get out of the tub and turn off the circuit breaker!!!!, so we leave the power OFF, one time the DOG set it off while we weren't home!)...anyway...the plan is to have it finished enough for THURSDAY as my parents are coming and I don't want my mom having to go up STAIRS to potty...
This is why I don't do the daily too often. I'm too verbose:bcb_wink3!
Veronica, we keep our HEAT below 65 almost ALWAYS!!!! So 65 would be VERY warm for us!!
Linda, sounds like your Tgiving will be BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm impressed you have actual SILVER! (I just got some decent "stainless")!
RW2L, I bet that run was energizing!!! Running in the cold always is! Good for you!
Julie, hope you got your cleaning done! Good for YOU for not eating last night!:bcb_bravo
Nicole, I BET you look like Michelin men! It is even colder where YOU are! Glad flex is working for you!
Kimberley, you AND the kids are ALWAYS so busy!!
Bridget, your Tgiving sounds like it is lovely and yes it's great you didn't start traditions you now have to quit!
Well I think I'll make some apple oat pudding, continue dusting (while tripping over all the tools etc. that seem to have taken over the house), and get around to some other things (like the laundry)...DH also had a major water event last week that involved doing something with the wrong valve and shooting water all over the basement. Not clean water I think...I just wiped off our new washer and dryer...
Have a great day buds!:salut

"Linda, sounds like your Tgiving will be BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm impressed you have actual SILVER! (I just got some decent "stainless")!
LOL! I come from a family that was English AND from the south. We were very formal every Sunday and holidays. That's just the way I grew up. I love my silver ( all of which was "left" to me as I'm the sister that does all the holiday meals), but I hate polishing it! :bcb_yuck: I also have 3 full sets of fine china and a complete set of Waterford cyrstal. DH worked for Royal Doulton, Wedgewood, and Waterford and we got it at a steal! :bcb_smile I use my "good china" whenever possible, if you have it you really should use it! I even used it for "kids" birthday parties ( with 6-10 little girls) when they were young. I didn't use it for the boys though!! :bcb_cry:

I figured there was a story behind your silver Linda!:bcb_wink3
I don't have china either. I didn't want it when we got married. I actually do have a set my MIL rejected, but I'm not all that fond of it! I grew up eating with silver every day. That is just what we did for some reason...I don't really have any fancy stuff for eating purposes, but I promise I would USE it if I did!!:bcb_wink3 I think it's really cool that you used it with your girls' parties, and smart you for NOT using it with the boys!!!!:bcb_smile
