Actually, it is what I didn't do today that is the victory for me: Despite my habit eating cravings, I did not go to the neighborhood market that is 3 blocks from my office to "just get a little something." I rode out the cravings. I rode out the "but you have a stressful meeting scheduled for today and deserve a little something" self-sabotaging thoughts. And even though I still have to wait around in my office for another hour and half before I teach a class tonight, it is now too scary dark to go to the market.
I also talked down my c*******e cravings that I think are in my mind, anyway. I didn't give into my cravings.

So far, so good! This seems to be working for me.:bcb_smile
First thing, I went to Pilates for an hour. :salut HRM said I burned 343 calories...surprise surprise. :bcb_bigsm
Drank my hot tea w/soymilk and sugar (.3) in my tippie-cup (really a travel cup from Costco that I LOVE!)
Went grocery shopping, while I was in town.
Drank my first bottle of water on the way home. :salut
Came home and immediately went on a walk with DH and Ddog. Ended the walk at 30 minutes because I was TOO HUNGRY (burrned 240 calories)! Hadn't had breakfast...Had carried a banana with me into town, but didn't want it. Wanted my oatmeal instead.
Had reheated 1-cup oatmeal w/raisins, cinammon, brown sugar (.3), and splash of soymilk (I put out 1-cup soymilk for the day and use it for tea, cereal, and...whatever).
Took all my pills/vitamins after breakfast.
Started cleaning the kitchen. Prepared homemade meatballs and sauce in my pressure cooker. Played with my multi-chopper. Made microwave "fries" and sweet potato-fries in my countertop oven. The fry-experiments turned out to be "lunch".
Cooked whole wheat spaghetti around 4 and had an earlybird dinner! The meatballs and pasta were calling-my-name (1 C. pasta, and two meatballs with sauce).
For dessert I had an orange and an apple. Finished my second bottle of water.:salut
It's 5:30. I've got my dishes going; kitchen is "CLOSED" except for a cup of tea or cocoa later (around 6).
I saw with my HRM monitor that MANY EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES keep my heartrate in-the-zone! :bcb_grin If it drops down, all I need to do is pick it up a little bit. Even cooking (lotsa' walking/moving) was in the zone at times.
DH is loving "his" idea. It's working out great for him! LOL. Good eatin'.
Lessons Learned: I needed another dairy; one was a supplement; one was cocoa. I got a cup of Silk soymilk, so maybe that counts?...Needed some green vegetables.
Tomorrow I plan to get in exercise BEFORE I go to get a bang-trim. All this protein (and meat) is making my hair grow soooooooooo FAST! :bcb_happy I can't even see!
I am ve-ry tired. Back is aching. Long and productive day. ((((sigh)))) Now I've earned my reward: which is to rest~ :sleepin:

Today I worked on the computer and kept my foot elevated.
Well, I did make lunch and dinner.
I did not overeat!
I'm also searching for a HRM. I've looked at several on line.
Carol, what kind do you have?
Anyone else using a HRM that did not post in the other thread?

I learned something today...
I took a banana with me (a post breakfast dessert) to eat en route to an event this AM. Only I wasn't hungry, so I didn't eat it :bcb_grin The event had a little snack table - ordinarily, I would have gotten a little something, but I adjusted my little purse and realized that BANANA was still in there. I smugly walked around with my banana because it reminded me that I did plan ahead, and had no reason to go off plan! And it reminded me I wasn't even hungry.
I ate the banana on the way home, when I was hungry, to tide me over until I could make lunch. I was really happy with how I handled the situation - I planned when I WAS thinking to help me in a situation where it would be hard to think.

Hey guys!
I had a good day too. I'm back to flex this week (:bcb_blush), needed a little kick. I've not quite used all my points all 3 days. I tend to "save" points for dinner and the end of the day, then don't use them :bcb_huh:. This afternoon, I was all set to have a cup of tea, latte style (That's usually one of my dairy servings) and realized it would be TWO points, so I passed :bcb_grrrr. Now I'm short a dairy and really don't feel like having it. I have to plan better, flex seems to take more planning than core to me. Sometimes I'm hungry and don't eat (to save points) and on core I think I eat when not hungry just because I can. I'll get it straight one of these days.
Great day and plan Carol! Keep it up :bcb_up.
What a bargain Julie! Good job!
Donna, hope your foot is better. It must be hard for you to sit around bcb_sad
Great job kats! That's the way to do it!
OK, now that I read about Carol's hot cocoa, maybe I'll have some too :bcb_bigsm.
Have a great night buddies! :salut

Hello all,
I know it's been awhile since ive posted...but I definitely havent forgotten about you guys!! School has ended for the quarter, and I am relaxing at home for a good break. I have been sooo bored.I also am on a soft diet today for my surgery on thursday. So today:
Instead of exercising... I just hung out at home
Washed my hair
Watched Law and Order, CI
Ate soup and other soft things.
Took a bath, was in some pain.
So thats pretty much it. I have been maintaining at 168.0 the last 2 weeks, so I am looking forward to getting it over with. I also have been waiting to hear from the YMCA about their Y Running program for members. I have been waiting for weeks and have not heard a word. :bcb_confu

Hey, I didn't see you first time I read this, Dr. J! :bcb_bigsm Good for you.
I did like Kats. I carried a banana with me. And I didn't want the banana! (So I KNEW I wasn't hungry...:bcb_up)
Never underestimate the power of a concealed banana. :bcb_up

Kats: I totally relate. :bcb_happy It's like we had the same experience in alternate universes.
A concealed banana is like a "magic feather". It gives you confidence, power to handle tempting situations...and reassurance that there is food available (if and when you want it).
LOVE YOUR STORY.
It's like a fairy tale. With a Happy Ending...:bcb_grin

LOL! Won't that be wonderful?...:bcb_up
I'm acting goofy, too. And I'm on Core. I'm not getting enough dairy and veggies. But I've got to GIVE MYSELF CREDIT for shaking things up and getting more movement into my day! :bcb_up So be sure and give-yourself-credit, Linda, for all the things you ARE doing well~
Good luck, Shani! Take Good Care~

Well, I'm having a nice cup of hot cocoa, Carol-style (with 1 tsp PB2), and it is delish!! So, I'm still 1 point under my target but I'm off to bed soon, so that will have to do. I'll give myself credit for getting in ALL my healthy 8 for the day and getting 6 servings of veggies today and 2 fruits :bcb_up. ( I have to learn to eat more veggies on core, I know I should, but don't always!?!) :bcb_cry:
Pleasant dreams buddies!

I'll join in too, great idea!
What I did.. yesterday!
Woke up hungry, my newest goal.
Exc. and took a walk with DPup before I went to work.
Walked to the lunch place and sat while eating. Was hungry because it was past my normal eating time but I didn't over-eat and didn't inhale the food!
DH and DS made a great dinner with salmon and salad.
DS is becoming a great cook!
Afterwards, we all watched a good movie and got to bed by 10.
I need to close the kitchen too after dinner. The popcorn has been my nightly treat but I eat it too late. Squeezing it in after dinner, I'll end up eating it while I'm actually full. And it makes my "waking-up-hungry" goal impossible!
I'll have to put it into my day earlier or I have to do without.
I'll check in with you all tonight.
