Warning: This suggestion goes beyond WWs rules for Core or Flex. So please feel free to ignore it~ :salut
Today I will: stop eating 2-3 hours before bedtime.:salut
Bob considers this a hugely important step! I don't have time to write or discuss this at the moment, so hopefully I'll be able to add more today or tomorrow~

If I am going to eat beyond satisfaction, this is surely the time it will happen, especially if no one is home but me.
I do tend to sleep better when I follow this rule.
It's something to think about.

I attribute this to be just about the most important part of my weight loss success thus far. I watched Bob on Oprah with his Best Life Diet and that was one of the key things he mentioned. I gave up evening snacking when I recommitted back to WW and have pretty much stuck with that for the past year and a half. Every once in a while I'll have an evening snack if I'm hungry or if I've planned to have a treat but it needs to be infrequent or else I start to struggle more.

I try to refrain from nighttime "snacking" (read: shoveling in my mouth twice as much as I have eaten all day) so I can focus on other activities, and realize that I enjoy them more than eating.
Thanks for posting Carol!

This has been GREAT for me the last 2 years. I have never been a night time eater, but finishing dinner early has helped me take weight off consistently.

I know this may sound strange, but if I drink a glass of milk before I go to bed, I will not lose weight or should I say show a loss on the scales the next day. (I weigh every morning.) Weird, but this has proven itself time and time again. :bcb_huh:

I find in the evenings I'm driven to snack because I'm tired or bored, not actually hungry, so if I can't find something more constructive to do, I've just been heading to bed early, it makes going to the gym early in the morning much much easier too.

Gee, I'm glad everybody hopped in here! :bcb_bigsm
Usually people say "Calories out/calories in; doesn't matter when you eat them"...:bcb_huh:
But Bob makes a Big Deal out of this. He shows how eating breakfast and exercising early makes your metabolism RAISE and stay raised for the entire day as you eat your meals/snacks. No matter what, though, it falls in the evening. "In effect, calories eaten late in the day are just kind of waiting around to be converted to fat. It's almost as if your body knows that sleep is inevitable and it does not want to be 'revved up'. And, as you know, once you do fall asleep your metabolism plummets regardless of what you've eaten...So calories eaten late in the day or, worse, around bedtime will be converted to fat more quickly.":bcb_yuck:
It's a good habit to break. Nighttime eating.
And Bob Greene did NOT give up his childhood habit of an evening snack; he just made it HEALTHY and eats it 2-3 hours before bedtime. :salut
