Good morning. I slept in late this morning and there is still no daily??? I just got up at 8:15 and it really felt good. I needed it.
Ann, Marlene and I went to see "Catch and Release" yesterday with Jennifer Garner. Good, chick flick. We enjoyed it. We took Ann home then went to my house to pick Tom up to go to dinner. We went to Stone Creek and really enjoyed it there. I had a delicious salmon salad. I'm really getting a lot of use out of those ff dressings. I have already ordered more.
My scale says my weight is up just a little from wi, but I'm sure it will come back off. I had a salt craving the other night and I caved. If only that can of peanuts had not been in the cupboard!
Speaking of weight...congrats to our sisters, Karen and Donna, for good weight losses this week! Donna, nice compliment at work. We call those NSV (non scale victory). Way to go!
The outfit I referred to yesterday in the Coldwater Creek catalog is the "First Thaw" catalog and has tulips on the front. The outfit is on page 47. I'm propping the page up here next to my computer so I think about it everyday!
Today, Cooper has a ball game at 1 and we meet my friends at 4. Tom will be planted in front of the TV while IU plays basketball at noon.
Liz, yikes on the bleeding! Hope all is well today and you can get Jack home and in front of his own TV!
Shar, I know you can wear the clothes at Coldwater and there are many that I think you would look fabulous in. Get a catalog, find an outfit and work to your goal. You can do this.
LJ, you must be corraling younguns this morning. Enjoy. I have Emersyn all day tomorrow and part of Monday. I can't wait. I've never kept her all night and I rarely get the chance to have her alone.
Dee, you poor thing. You are really suffering when the water aerobics is not a good thing for you. I am praying the MRI shows them something fixable.
Norma, glad you are feeling better. Those hissy fits are so cleansing, aren't they? LOL.
Ann, how cool about your invitations. Of course, none of us doubted that you and Tess would be the star pupils! Way to go.
Sheila, are you doing okay? You do know you can come here this summer and hang out by the pool right? Tom and I were talking last night about our favorite trips over the years. The one that took us to Vancouver, Banff and Jasper is in the top 5. We both just loved it. Maybe I can get him to come to Banff again when he retires.
Hello and welcome to our new posters. Please join right in. And Welcome back, Iris. I remember you! sorry about the losses in your life. Hope you will stick around with us now.
Guess I better get this posted. I have rambled long enough.
Hugs,
shelac

Carla, I'm fine, I just don't have anything even remotely interesting, let alone, exciting to post. I'm lurking for awhile. Everything is fine.

Good Morning
Up early and trying to type this with Scooter in my lap. Seems like he is joined to my hip when I'm home. Man its cold this morning with frost on the ground. Daddy is up and already searching for a game on tv. I love college football to but not like him. He eats sleeps and talks football year round. Nothing exciting planned for today except cleaning the house.
Haven't talked with son in a week so I need to touch base with them to see how things are going. Being that I'm a new MIL I don't like to seem noisey. You know someone needs to write a book How to be a good MIL for Dummies!
Carla I to love the cloths from Coldwater Creek but haven't been able to purchase much from them due to being a plus size, but that is changing. I was telling Norma and sister that we should have a cloths swap. So if anyone needs or wants size 18 summer dresses I have plenty just pay for the postage. Maybe I should start taking pictures and post them in a different thread. Any suggestions??? or am I dreaming? Could it work?
Ok time for another cup of coffee

OPPS,, I POSTED THIS ON YESTERDAY'S. SO THERE WILL BE TWO OF THESE POSTS... SORRY...
Good Morning,
Glad to hear Jack's procedure is over and with the extra surgery stitches he will be able to sleep without worry or interruption...
Woke up too early, as I was sooooo tired from the laundry yesterday... We then went out to the huge swap/flea market...Now is that common sense? NO !
I had so much cause of the wearing of sweat suits, jeans, sweaters, long sleeve tees... and let's face it... the size we wear takes up lots of machine space...
When I weighted in at Millie's I now have lost the 10% that I should have with WW'ers back in IA...now that is slow progress!!! There is no doubt I should be cooking at home more..
I am reading the only Katherine Coulter book left in the library on site .."Riptide". It is proving to be equally as interesting as the last...
When the sun gets up I am going for a short walk.. I do not like to go out too early cause the Coyotes are in the park and I do not want to meet them in the dark... in the day light is bad enough... We are in the desert and it was their land first. Now with the freeway being built behind us and a housing deveopment on the other side of that.. The coyotes have little land to graze????? They are not bright enough to seek land farther out...well, that would be miles and miles and other coyotes probably have staked they claim... sad... But scary for me...
Dave is takiing Wes golfing Monday. Wes refuses to briing his clubs here, he plays with what Jr found at different garage sales and put in our shed for him, they are really old. Millie and I will use the time to go to the Chandler Mall, which is a 'fine' one... They have Chico's and Coldwater Creek and Nordstroms. I really do not want to buy any thing but I just might.... It is a long drive from here so I should make the trip worth while, ya think???? tee hee... I am stil in size 16's and hate it but who did this wonderous deed of over eating to me????
Well dear hearts, it is going on to 7AM and I think I will ready myself for a short walk... I have been asked to walk with a neighbor, Mickey, but she has walked for years and walks the entire 4 miile circumference of the park... which it seems it was not too long ago I did that, but now I need to build up to that again...It would be so good for my moral and body.. The leg veins that I did not take care of last summer or the summer before just might not have had enough rest from all yesterday? We will see.
hugs to all

Hey folks
lost 1 lb at wi this am- that was a surprise as yesterday I was not a stellar eater. I did walk the pups for 40 min and do some ab exercises.
Today I have a potluck for a meetup group of women over 40- there are 15-20 women coming- at someone else's house- not mine. I think I may use the leftover turkey to make a curry- I made a chicken curry from the Eat Shrink and Be Merry cookbook last night and it was excellent ( Indian Apples 500) made with apples and under 500 calories a serving- actualy I think it is 279 cal a serving. They have jokey titles of recipes in that CB.
I said I would come an hour early to help get ready. This was the woman and her husband who we met at the couples meetup and we had over for dinner 2 weeks ago.
Jenna had a 79 on her math test- she would have preferred to have an 8 at the beginning. We had a snowfall yesterday unfortunately on Chris way home and although we live in a snowy region generally because we had unseasonably mild weather so far this year- drivers forgot how to handle the snow.
Lizw- sorry that Jack had this bleeding problem- perhaps they should print out a definition of "squirming" but glad the stents are still in the right place. Hope his recovery is quick and eneventful--- and hide his car keys.
Sheila- I miss Banff- I used to go every year for the TV fest there- 7 times I went and really miss not going- it was a lot closer to go to when I lived in Vancouver- in addition we drove through there on many occasions on the way to Calgary. The best times I had was staying at the Banff Springs- which is where the conference happens- they had a super rate that year. One year I won a three week course at the Banff centre and they gave us an apartment for the 3 weeks and a food card for the buffet food there- that was pretty good too.
Char- good for you for getting out walking. That was the topic of the ww meeting this week- finding your own level and meeting it and over time challenging yourself to go the next level for you.
Donna- glad your dog can be in your lap- if our dogs were in our lap- well- we would probably be injured:bcb_grin they weigh 70 and 85 lbs- but they are not adverse to climbing on the bed and lying on top of you. and stripey no regularly cries to go on the bed in the middle of the night. and in the morning CoCo joins us- just a real party.
Karen and Donna- congrats on all the weight loss! There have been many losses on the board this month- congratulations to all the losers!
Carla- You sure get to see alot of movies. ON Tues I will be seeing a world premiere I have been invited to and party afterward of a movie called Crossing- it is Canadian movie but is about a agangster family who tries to take their business legit. I invited a new colleague of mine as we are working on a movie with a gangster topic.
Hope everyone has a great active OP day and weekend

It’s mid-morning, and WE are home. Jack was still dozing when I walked in this morning – and shortly informed me that he had had at least ten hours of sleep – probably close to 12. The doctor came in before 8, and dismissed him, so it was all over but the shouting and paperwork. I have him ensconced in the lazy-boy with the newspaper and mail. He’s very wobbly and weak, but glad to be home.
Went on an eating binge last night – stress and hunger do not add well, as I hadn’t had dinner and was getting home about 8:15.. Bad combination. The scale confirmed that I had done it, too. Hopefully, as the days go by and strength is gained, this well ease off.
FYI, ladies, there is a Coldwater Creek as well as Chico’s at the mall near Cocoa…Beth is advertising good stuff. BTW, there are often all kinds of Coldwater Creek items on sale on the web site.
The bleeding stopped as soon as the stitches went in, and no problems from there on out (thank heaven), so it’s just a case of keeping the patient coddled for a couple of days, and following the doctor’s directions. Stitches come out in a week to ten days (staples and stitches).
Congratulations, Ann, for you and Tess and the invitation. You are definitely going to advanced stages very quickly…and it sounds as though both human and dog are truly enjoying the journey.
It looks as though our lives will be beautifully monotonous for a while here, and I just hope it stays that way. Now I need to figure out what I have to do and whether we have all the requisite meds, etc.
Thanks again, dear friends, for all your wonderful support. Now we’ll all start saying quiet prayers for Carla’s exam…

Morning..lots of you here already. I slept in a little too Carla..until around 8. The cat finally bit me on the nose so I got up. I am so stiff when I get up, I can't wait for the cordisone lube job on Tues.
Donna, I really had quite a visual of you dressed for walking....looks like some really cold weather coming our way..I guess you heard mention of the "s" word.....
Karen, do you go to the Patten Creek to that Coldwater store?...I am not sure where the scrapbook store is out there, would you let me know..I will probably be out that way looking for kitchen tile. I have decided the first we looked at may turn out a little too dark for my taste, so I want to look more and be sure before it goes down.
Congrats to you and Donna both for the losses!..you both are doing great and it shows!
Dee, Scottys "stone" dr told him that he could diagnose his stones as well as he could, and he knew what to do. He told him there was usually a blockage if you start to run a fever or the pain is so bad your pain pills don't touch the pain...that is when he told him to get to the hospital asap, otherwise he just passes them and goes on about his business. He has had so many I lost count.
Carla, the hissy fit must have worked...Danny got up and had a bath, vacumned the house, and cooked his own breakfast....I asked him what was up for today?..lol I guess I will throw the dishes in the dishwasher and make the bed, and call it quits. There is not much point in doing too much housework when all the men are at home....
Jacob seems fine, so I guess he just had a bug of some sort, nothing too bad, as he played the rest of the day after the nurse sent him home.
Well, time's a wastin'...I think I may hit some stores today and just get out, even though it is cold as a well diggers bu**, so will check ya later...got to get moving and get my mind off of food....have not done very well the last 3 or 4 days, so time to jump back on the band wagon.
Luv ya all

Thanks for the info on the stones Norma, it is good to know that these things may be recurring. I have tried to find some info on the net but not coming up with much. We would just like to know exactly what the cause is so he can prevent them from reoccuring in the future. He is feeling better again today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Great news that you and Jack are home again Liz. :bcb_bigsm

Dee, I don't think they really know what the cause of the stones are. At one time they said dairy products contributed, then iced tea, I don't think they really know. I have come to my own conclusion,,,stress!!....Scotty has only had 2 or maybe 3 since Courtney left...7 yrs ago...he had 11 or 12 the last year they were married!..go figure!...that's my story, and I am sticking to it!
Norma
We were also told we lived in the area where stones were more prevelant, don't know what that is all about

Hi Buddies! Going to try and get a quick post in since Hannah is at a sleep over with one of her girlfriends that is home schooled, so they don't get much time together and since there really is no one here in our neighborhood for her to play with and I don't want her to be bored while she's here, so I let her go even though it's on my time with her. I know that some day she won't even want to come over here anymore and I'll have to deal with that. Anyway, all of that aside, ebay seems to be up and running again after the Christmas rush. My little girl's swimming suits are up and listed and between yesterday and today I've sold 12 suits. I have many more to go, but it's a good start. I sold two of them to a lady in the Netherlands. That always amazes me that my "stuff" goes to Europe. What a small world this has become.
Update on the veil: Well, we got the veil and it is beautiful, however, it did come with a small portion of the edging not attached. But I think we can fix that easily enough. The real problem for DH and DGD is that it certainly does not have all the crystals that was in the picture. You can see that just by looking at it, but that wasn't good enough for DD. We had to actually count them! And she was right, we did not get the 200 as advertised. We only got like 110, or there abouts. The seller had to make this and I'm sure she was thinking for what we paid for it, she was not going to give the real amout of crystals to cut down on the cost. What to do now at this point? I'm not sure. The seller has offered to return full purchase price and postage (I think). But at this point, can we find another veil? Probably, but I don't know. I will be going over there today to work on a few things with them and I'm sure we will make a decision today. I have messaged the seller and asked if she would send more crystals and tell me what she used to apply them with. That might work, but I'm not sure. I think we got our money's worth as it is and I think the seller does too, but the point is that we don't feel we got what she advertised it as. At this point, I'm ok with working on it a bit. Even with these problems, I still think it's worth $15.50. But that's part of the risk you take when you order from ebay. Sometimes it's a perfect sale, and sometimes it's not. Still no word on the little girls' dresses. I'm getting nervous. I took my dress yesterday and had it altered. At least that's done.
Secondly, I want to say to Liz that I'm so glad that everything worked out well for Jack and I'm glad that he's home and you all can get back to some normalcy in your house.
Gosh Norma, I can't believe the cold weather you are having in AL!! I guess this is the year for weird weather.
ARLENE; WTO on the wt loss!! Take every pound you can get! It may have been that you changed your routine a bit by NOT going and exercising so much. Your body might be saying what is she doing now?
CHAR; Congrats on the 10%!! I know it's slow, it's terribly slow for me also, but I did show another 2 lbs off on my scale yesterday, also! HURRAY FOR BOTH OF US AND ARLENE TOO!!
DONNA; Even if they had a book like that, the ones who really need it wouldn't read it!! LOL!! :bcb_grin
CARLA; Aren't those little portable dressings nice? I always have them in my purse along with some Equal and some FF/LT mayo or miricle whip. I'm prepared when I go out! I use the FF/Lt mayo/miracle whip when I stop at Burger King and order my whopper jr., then I add my own mayo and it's much better for you. DH laughs and asks what I have in my portable pantry this time? But it works.
J'ANN; What an opportunity!! You and Tess sound like you're really going to go far in this freestyle thing. And especially being able to take her along with you and keep her in your room. Wow. Sounds like fun and sounds like she really knows what she's doing. Now it's up to you.....lol!
Ok, budds, my sf/ff chocolate cinnamon decaf latte is gone and I think I need another one. These are sooo yummy! Everyone have a good OP kind of day!!
Did I say that I lost 2lbs this week on the scale???? YAY FOR ME!! That makes a total of 8 now and that 10 by the wedding is looking better and better!! :bcb_up

Quick hello. Three kids here today.... yikes! All three spent the night too and will be here again tonight.
I wore Joe out this morning. We ran, read books, chased the girls, etc. He could barely sit up through lunch. I gave him a bath and rocked him about 2 minutes and he was GONE. I hope he will sleep for a while.
Maddie had a two hour play date this AM and Cadyn and I made some pudding.
At the risk of boring everyone to tears I will just hush!
Glad you are home Liz and Jack.
Just wanted you to know I did read the board!
Peace and Blessings. LJ aka Nanny,

Hey buddies! Just got back from my WWers meeting. Didn't weigh in at the meeting since I'd already done my official weigh in for the month a couple of weeks ago. The meetings have been so busy that I really don't want to stand in line for a weigh in if I don't have to. I'm hovering a couple of pounds below goal weight, so I'm happy. :bcb_bigsm
This afternoon Mom and I are going to see "The Queen". I also rented "Brokeback Mountain" as I still haven't seen it yet and it's one I've wanted to see. Might watch that tomorrow. Mom asked if I wanted to go out to lunch today (she's been treating to quite a few meals out, I think she looks at it as a way she can contribute). I suggested maybe tomorrow since the movie starts at 1:30 p.m. and I don't want to have to worry about getting through lunch in time.
Went to Coldwater Creek last weekend with Mom. She likes their clothes and found a pair of pants and a necklace. I tried on some pants and a top, both on sale, and neither one fit right. The pants fit, but were a bit too short, and the top was too big and they didn't have the small in a color I would have worn. Well, so much for me and Coldwater Creek right now. Guess I'll stick to Chico's. The light denim jacket I got on ebay came. It's "okay", glad I didn't pay full price for it.
Lizzie called on Thursday and said things were "okay and not okay". I think the not okay was in regards to a couple of tests she'd taken recently. She got a 76% on her last Chemistry test. Since I never took Chemistry, not even in college, I'm thrilled that she's doing as well as she's doing. But of course being Lizzie, she wants all A's. She also didn't do well on her last History test (she doesn't know the score yet), but she said she didn't study as much as she should have since she was busy working on an English project. I don't know if things are as dire as she thinks.
Have a great weekend everybuddy. :buddysmoo

Good afternoon everybuddy. We're back into home fix mode again this weekend. Unfortunately it isn't the kitchen. some may remember that I mentioned someone had tried to break into the house via the front storm door a few months back. Well, this is the weekend it is getting replaced...I hope. We went and picked up the new door and all of it's accompanying "stuff" but when the old one came off DH says more damage was there than he had thought. Now he is back to Lowe's getting new molding or some other wood type thing. I have a sinking feeling this project just gained lots more time to do!
Lizw- so glad to hear you and Jack are home again. Mom had the bleeding post op stent (abdominal aorta) too. Unfortunately she couldn't get someone to take her to the bathroom so got up on her own and bled all over the floor. She is an easy bleeder anyway but it scared the heck out of me when I found out. Jack will probably be on anti-coagulants for a while so you still need to watch for any signs of bleeding...no hitting him in frustration and such.
Luanne- I'll be interested in hearing how "The Queen" turns out. The previews sounded good.
LJ- you must be enjoying the new floors since you have the 3 kids over. You've had a busy week!
Jeanette- I used a hot fix "iron thingy" (technical term) to put on crystals. Not sure if it would work for veiling but you could try it on a scrap of tulle to see. They sell the Swarovski (sp?) crystals at the craft stores. There really is no way you could have made the veil for what you paid. However, it should have come as advertised! Hope the little girls dresses get there soon.
Norma- not sure if it is still considered true or not since "facts" seems to change all the time, but diet and some water may contribute to stones for those susceptible to them. If I had recurrent ones I would sure check into diet suggestions since those things are not fun.
Dee- hope the MRI shows something that can be fixed....and that the pain eases up soon.
Arlene- maybe the two of us need Shar to come and help get our paperload cleared out! I'm still cleaning out orders/schoolwork/etc. from home schooling days...and my last one graduated almost 2 yrs. ago. :bcb_blush
Shar- the progress might be slow but at least the direction is heading down! That is a plus. I sure don't envy you having to go to the laundromat. I do remember those days many years ago. Gosh, you can't even do your laundry in your jammies that way!
Donna- I didn't realize that you too are a scrapper. Must run in the family.:bcb_LOL: My middle dd is too but I just collect the supplies for "someday." I'm hoping when she gets out of college she'll take pity on me and put mine together....but I suspect she won't.
Sheila- I hear you on the nothing of interest going on...me neither. Lots of appts. and lots of waiting around. Then when I get home there is lots of stuff waiting for me to get busy. Ha. Still have to finish one dress for DD's recital "greeter." How is your leg doing? Did the treatments help?
Carla-I know you said where you get the dressing in packets, but I forgot...could you mention it again...pretty please? I think Jeanette's "pantry packs" in her purse sound like a great idea. Maybe we could come up with a carryall for them. Ha.
Dh is back. I'd better go and see if I can help. Probably not but I should check just to be sure.
Have a great OP day ladies. Congrats to all the losers!!

Hello dear friends! Not much going on here; Mike worked the morning at the PO and I got a new quilt started for ME! After lunch I took Kristi out for a walk in the foggy damp................the other side of the island is in sunshine! Today is 27 days smokefree and I just realized until I typed that, I hadn't even thought of smoking! One day at a time here.
Liz, so happy to hear you are home with Jack as well. Is he going to behave himself alone so that you can get in your walks? Sending healing vibes~~~~~~~~~~~to him and (((((HUGS))))))) for you.
Dee,dear buddy, sorry you are in so much pain........(((HUGS))))))) to you as well.
LJ, you are a busy nanny, that's for sure. Do you like the new floor now that you have lived with it for a few days?
Congratulations to all the losers this week..............I am staying the same for which I am glad considering people usually gain at least 5 when quitting smoking.
Well, I am really stretching to find something to say here; have a good rest-of-the-weekend.

I watched a program last night on tv that touched me deeply. Go to http://up2020.servicenetwork.com/ Urban Promise. Here we are worrying about having to much food and these kids don't have enough. Monday morning I'm asking my employer to match any monies donated from our employees. I cried while watching the show, and it made me mad. Mad that we live in a country that helps every one else and we are letting our own children starve.

Good evening buddies...I am late as ususal posting. And no excuse since today is an off day from work. I love the weekends. Just wish they were longer.
Norma called me earlier today and we went shopping. We went to the scrapbook store that Donna mentioned yesterday. Got some things that was on sale. Went to Belk's and I bought three pair of dress pants and they were all on sale. I needed them and am so happy I got a size smaller. Size 14 is not the size I want to be in but I am happy because it is a size smaller. Then we went to Home Depot. Charles is not going to want me to go shopping with his cousin again. I brought a piece of tile home with me!
I told Norma it seemed like almost everyone on the board was doing something to their floors. So I have been bitten by the bug too.
LJ- Can I see you running with the grandkids. Ready to go should be your motto!
Donna- Thanks for taking Mom to Walmart. And a big round of applause to you on another pound down. Another one bites the dust! We need to get together and do some scrapbooking. How about it?
Arlene- Good for you too on a pound down. You have done a great job at keeping it off. I know you have told us of some pounds that you regained but over all you have kept the majority off.
Jeanette- Atta Girl to you too on losing two pounds! EBay is picking up isn't it? I check on my items I like almost daily. But I know the UPS man thinks I have gone into withdrawals since he has not delivered anythin to me lately.
Liz- I am glad to learn Jack is home. Hopefully there will enough games on to help pass the time duing his healing. Glad the stitches stopped the bleeding. I know you will be a good nurse. I often wonder if men realize how much women nutures the sick and do all that they do.
Carla- That outfit is very pretty and those shoes will look good with it. I called our Coldwater Creek and they told me they don't have all their capris in yet. I hope to go before the Florida trip. Looks like we will have a Coldwater Creek and a Chico's to visit there. Look out!
Shar- I think it is great you have lost the 10%. Don't put yourself down because of the time frame it took to do it. Wear it in pride!
Iris- So sorry you lost your sister. My sister is WWDonna on this board and I don't even think about losing her! We tell our husbands that when they are gone the two of us are going to live together and be two old happy women! She likes to work inside the house and I like to work out in the yard. A good combination! But I don't know who would like to do the cooking. :bcb_confu
Shari- Hope the replacing of the door is a success. It always winds up being more of a project at our house when we set our minds to doing something.
Got to stop....Melissa is wanting the computer. She is at home tonight. Guy she is dating has gone hunting today so she is staying in. See ya later..Karen

Good Evening Gang,
I typed 10 percent!!!! I meant I have met my Iowa goal of 10 pounds lost... Opps, after I read your posts I said to myself... What did you type??? Rechecked and a wonderful thing to happen but not so... 10 pounds off, yes ... it was my Iowa goal three months late... drats...sigh..
Now I have a question...??? I have my WW'er pedometer here in AZ, but not the instructions... I bought it a year ago... so it probably is not today's model... Any one with the WW'er pedometer model that has the readout screen tipped up at an angle so you can read it easier while it is on your waist band? I am having to use a pin to reset it each day... any one wiht this model's instrucitons that would be willing to scan and email them to me? Sure appreciate it..
