Meet Denise Racer Who Lost 50 Pounds on Weight Watchers!

Before - Here I am at 200#s and miserable.

Background

I  wrestled my whole life with a 10-25 pound weight problem, which I thought was enormous! HA! Little did I know what my future would hold...

When I reached the age of 39, I was struck with the onset of peri-menopause. Having never heard of it before, I was completely clueless as to what was happening to me.  In the period of about one year, I had packed on about
65 pounds.  It changed my whole life, pronto.

I was so miserable, I refused to be seen in public.  In fact, I invented ways to get my shopping done without being faced with the prospect of running into anyone I knew.  I would hit the stores very early in the morning before
anyone was up.  My social life was completely nonexistent, by then.  Every
time I went on vacation, I was so happy because I could be anonymous and go anywhere I wanted, without the fear of being seen.  Pretty pathetic!

I also found myself totally fed up and finished with the whole useless cycle
of starting yet another diet but I wasn't about to stay overweight
either.  That's when I came up with the idea to devise my own program.  I
began by taking a good look at my eating habits and started revising them,
one at a time.  This process was slow but I had gotten 10 lbs. off in 4
months.  I am a slow loser!

It was at that point, I decided I needed to be accountable on a weekly basis, to the scale.  I found out about the WW program and went to my first meeting thinking I was not going to start on the program, another useless diet but just go for the weekly weigh-in accountability.

The Future

I stayed for the orientation at the end and liked it so much, I incorporated
it into my own personal program of revising my bad eating habits.  The date was January 9th, 1999.

After a number of months on WW123, my weight-loss slowed to a stop.  I was around 165 lbs. by then and began getting the mindset that I wouldn't lose anymore.  I pretty much plateaued for about 6 months and then I found the Bootcamp Buddies.

The BCB philosophy completely matched where I was at mentally with the
WW program. Darn, I wish they had been around back then though, I could have saved myself a ton of grief!  But least I have them now!

I finally made Weight Watcher's goal on May 13, 2000!  Persistence, determination, and working the program everyday COME WHAT MAY, got me here.  Notice, I left out the word patience!

After  - Here I am in Hawaii with my daughter.

If you are a slow-loser like me,  keep going no matter what the scale says and don't compare yourself to anyone else!  As long as you cross the finish line, you will get the same prize as everyone else does!!!  My highest loss in a week was 3.4 and I lost 3 lbs. only twice.  My weekly weight loss average was .6 and it took me 78 weeks (18 months).

You can do it too and probably a whole lot quicker!!!
