I made this for dinner tonight - very tasty!

    CROCKPOT BARBECUED TURKEY AND VEGETABLES

    Servings: 4
    Points per Serving: 8

    Ingredients

1 cup(s) Kraft honey barbecue sauce
    1/2 cup(s) water
    1 lb(s) boneless, skinless turkey breast(s)
3 large potato(es) (cut into chunks)
6 medium carrot(s) (cut into short sticks)

    Instructions

In medium bowl, blend barbecue sauce with 1/2 cup of hot water. Layer turkey, potatoes, and carrots in crockpot. Pour sauce mixture over top. Cover and cook on low setting for at least 9 hours. Remove turkey and vegetables with slotted spoon. Place on serving platter. Serving cooking juice over turkey and vegetables.

    Special Notes

Cooking juices can be thickened with flour. Add small amount of hot liquid to 2-3 tbsp. flour in measuring cup. Stir and add back to crockpot, on high setting. Cook to thicken, and add points accordingly.

    Enjoy!

THANK YOU! This is EXACTLY what I came on board to look for. I'm a new crockpot user & wanted to find out if BBQ sauce could be used - I didn't know if it would 'gum' up being in the crockpot so long. I'm going to fix your recipe & use sweet potatoes instead of regular!! yum yum

Yeah, we really liked this one a lot too.

It was a recipe that I found posted somewhere else and the points seemed high to me too. I am an online WW member, so I ran it through their "recipe builder" function and it came up with these points......

    Maybe it's something like this:

    3 large potatoes (3)
    6 large carrots (2)
    1 cup barbecue sauce (8)
1 lb. boneless skinless turkey breast (13)

Total: I come up with 26

So according to my estimations that would make it 6.5 points per serving. I'm not sure if I'm missing something - 8 points is what WW gave to me.....??

    Anyone else have suggestions here?

Wouldn't 3 large potatoes be 9 points? I always count them as 3 points each (starting off with a 10 oz. raw weight potato...)

    Yes, you're right - THANKS!

That would make the whole recipe 32. With 4 servings that would make it 8 points per serving........

Thanks for the clarification and help!!!!!

Thanks! I made this tonight and husband and kids liked it. That's a miracle! The turkey was nice and moist and had a nice flavor. And...it tastes totally different from the turkey we'll be having soon.
